This had SO MUCH POTENTIAL to be a great book. Lennon was the mystery character that I personally wanted to know everything about...and it was so underwhelming. Like really, really underwhelming.
The start was good. The setup for how he meets Georgia and all that. Except one second he's like "I fucking hate her" and then the next they're sipping coffee together on her day off? That made no sense. Where was his fight? Where was the torture? Where was her making him believe he was worth living? I mean, he's just been through this tragic ordeal where he basically begs a stranger to let him die, and she doesn't, and the everything is fine? I mean, she tried to show some turmoil there but it felt forced. It didn't work at all. I didn't FEEL any of it, and with this sort of plot I expected to feel.
And then suddenly they're in love? Like, it just seemed rushed and not well thought out for me and though I was looking forward to this book, I didn't enjoy it at all. I wanted it to be over so I could move on to better things, and that makes me sad because I like Scarlett Cole's work most times, but these last few books have been less than stellar for me.

So Lennon is the last member of the band to get a book - so definitely not a standalone!! - and man was it a good book to finish the series with.
Like the other members Lennon had what you would call a messed up childhood and things seem to go from bad to seventh circle of hell for Lennon just as all the other members' lives seem to being going rosy
This is not a happy, cheerful, everything is always rosy book (especially at the start) but I did enjoy it... Lennon is one of those characters you just want to hug and hope that everything gets better for him (luckily that part is happy cheerful)
So this series started as a spin-off from another of Cole's that I devoured but now I want to know... what comes next in this world!!!

When I was a teen (long before Kindles and other e-readers), when I read a book that I absolutely adored, I would carry it around with me for days, even sleep with it under my pillow, in some sappy attempt to keep it in my heart. I would read my favorite passages over and over again. This beautiful, heart-wrenching story brought back those memories and made me long for that connection with a physical book. It's not as easy to flip around in a Kindle, nor is it comfy under my pillow. Even so, I know that this story, Lennon and Georgia, and heck, the whole dang group from Preload, will be with me for a long, long time. You know how when you see a movie sequel and it's hardly ever as good as the first? I find that many book series are that way as well. But not this series. Ms. Cole defies logic in that these books have each either gotten better or been at least as good as the previous one. Nonetheless, there was a part of me that expected this one to let me down because I was looking so, so forward to Lennon's story. Yet, Ms. Cole worked her voodoo once again and created the most emotional, riveting story yet. I am not one of those readers that goes for the rock star books, so I don't have much to compare this to in that sense, but I can't imagine anything in that trope coming even close to this book, or this entire series. I know I'm not doing a good job of describing how great this book is because I'm blubbering with emotion, so if you still aren't sure about it, try reading a few pages. You'll get sucked right in. And you'll be glad you did.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for review.

What an amazing book! Scarlett Cole really knocked it out of the park with this book. I couldn't put this book down until I finished it. I read it in one sitting. Sad that it ended. This book has it all. It hit all my emotions. I loved both of the main characters, they were amazing. This book was so much more than I expected. I would recommend this book.

This is the first book by Ms Cole that I have read. I couldn’t stop reading it. Georgia and Lennon are amazing together. You’ll want tissues nearby. And the sex is phenomenal. I might have to go back and read the first ones. Georgia is a pediatric neurosurgeon and her family are all neurosurgeons. She is going to her parents and comes up on a bus wreck. Lennon is the drummer for Preload and grew up in a foster home with the other members of the band. He thinks he’s not good enough to be loved. When the bus wrecks he loses one of his arms up to the elbow. He is moody, hateful, and wishes they had let him die. Until Georgia comes and sees how he’s doing. She is the one person who doesn’t pity him and just wants to help. She moves him into her apartment building and continues to stand by him no matter how bad he acts. The more time they spend together the more Georgia falls for the rocker. But because of his childhood he doesn’t think he’s capable of loving her back or at least give her the words. When he finally decides to go back to Toronto, he asks Georgia to go but she loves New York and her job, family not so much. Will she lose him or will she take a chance and finally do what she wants and needs? * Voluntarily read and reviewed for Netgalley *

I have been DYING for Lennon's book. (Mostly to find out why he was always such a jerk all the time.) Perfectly heartbreaking story. Loved Georgia and Lennon together.

OMG what a book. Made me heart broken all the way through. Lennon's childhood , there was so much trama. Georgia meets his at his lowest point and brings out the best in him. But his mind keeps telling him she will leave. This series has been amazing series to read. Looking forward to see what is next for Scarlett Cole.

Ok, this is deepest feeliest rock star romance book I've ever read! I read this before the rest of the series, so if you haven't read them, don't delay. But, you can check out Lennon and his recognition that he's capable of physical and emotional recovery. Loved both of these characters so much. This was a "read in one sitting" book with amazing depth. I loved it. Now, I circle back around for the rest of the series.
