M/F Romance

This is a quick snippet look at the royal couple who are expecting their third kiddo.

While her husband is slowly going bald with trying to keep his full-time working, active, pregnant wife from going into labor, she then goes and accepts the queen's decree that she be the matron of honor in an upcoming wedding.

It's really just a snapshot into their lives and how busy everything has become. It was cute, but there wasn't a true story. You got to see a little of the royal couple and their chemistry, but I don't think this was what it was about. It was more about their crazy trail to the delivery of their third child.

Overall, it was sweet and you wouldn't necessarily have to have read the previous book to understand the protective nature of Dylan or the love they share together.

Although I had not read the previous trilogy, the blurb just made me want to read it! I really enjoyed this snippet of family life, in a royal situation, but involving two people who are very grounded in their outlook on life. For a short story, I got a very big story and some delightful new friends. It pretty much guaranteed that I will be reading the original trilogy as soon as I find the time.

I love the relationship between Dylan and Lydia – it is a wonderful combination of very sexy, lustful, passionate, loving, and also totally children focussed. And those children have bad timing down to a fine art, which is hilarious, and frustrating! They take their responsibilities seriously yet have lots of fun along the way. Daphne was a total hoot – and I would love to follow her in her new romance.

Perfect escapism, thank you, Ms. Swift.

I'll admit that I haven't read the previous books, so that might be some of the issue. However, this novella can stand on its own.

If you're looking for a sweet, swoony story about a man who loves his pregnant wife and would do absolutely anything for her, then this is for you. There is just enough background info given to where you know what's going on, but it also leaves you (well, definitely me) wanting to go back to the beginning to see how their story unfolded.

Add if you like royalty books, this is a nice treat as well. Because, well, big weddings, big surprises, big deal. And I do love a royal wedding.

Dylan will have you begging for more.

Royal Match is the continuation of Lydia and Dylan’s story. They are happily married with two small children and one on the way. Royal Match is a cute and quick honest read about what life is like being parents with small children, while both of you still work and wait for a new baby to be brought into the mix. Add on the demands and commitments that can’t be denied...oh, did I mention they are royalty as well?!

This book is a cute afternoon read about the real life problems couples face...even when they are royalty. Great way to finish off the story of Lydia and Dylan. While it can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the series!

Royal Match is a sweet novella in the Royal Scandal series. It gives yet another glimpse into the lives of the Duke and Duchess of Abingdon, aka Dylan Hale and his American wife Lydia. Married for five years now, they have two absolutely adorable children (of course!) and are expecting their third--on the same day that Dylan's ex-girlfriend and Lydia's current good friend, the princess of England, is getting married. Naturally, events conspire so that Lydia is roped into standing up in the wedding, because of course one simply doesn't say no to royalty...

What follows is Lydia (mostly) trying to keep incubating baby number three until after the wedding while Dylan gets creative about trying to do the opposite (she can't put on her own shoes at this point; can Lydia really bend herself over a desk...?) and in between there's all kinds of cuteness with their kids, fun with friends and coworkers, and wedding-of-the-century craziness. If you've read the other books in the series already, I'm guessing this book will be one long love-fest for you; if you haven't yet, you shouldn't be too lost--and seeing their marital cuteness here just might inspire you to check out the Dylan and Lydia origin story.

There's not a ton of plot or character growth here--really, it's mostly a slice of life story with the added fun of wondering just when the newest baby Hale will make an appearance. There was a memory sequence at one point (Lydia recalling her wedding day) that seemed on the long side for such a short book, but again, series fans will probably enjoy it quite a bit.

If you're looking for a quick, fun read to put you in the mood for the upcoming real royal nuptials and/or you need something quick to read in the brief moments you're able to tear yourself away from looking at pictures of the newest prince, give Royal Match a try!

Royal Match by Parker Swift is book 3.5 in the Royal Scandal series. This is the story of Dylan and Lydia. I haven't yet read the previous books, so for me I made it a standalone book. With that said I do wish I had read the previous books.
This book Dylan and Lydia were expecting another child along with going to a family wedding. I really enjoyed their interactions so I need to go find the book that started their story because it was that good.

Dylan and Lydia Hale, the Duke and Duchess of Abingdon, are the parents of Eleanor and Aiden and Lydia is due to give birth to their third child very soon now. The family, along with the Dowager Duchess of Abingdon have been vacationing in Canada for a few weeks and now they are headed back to London aboard their private plane.

The future Queen of England, Princess Caroline, is Dylan’s ex-fiancee and a close friend to Lydia. Caroline is soon to marry Zach Washington, an American photo journalist. Princess Caroline, along with her grandmother, the Queen, have asked Lydia to be Caroline’s matron of honor at her wedding. The problem is that their wedding day is on Lydia’s due date.

As the weeks turn into days with all of the intricate wedding plans, Lydia finds herself caught up in a lot of it and is constantly busy. Dylan is very solicitous of her and worried that she will overdo. Lydia is also nervous that she may go into labor and not be able to participate in the wedding. As the Queen has specifically requested that she be there, disappointing her would be disastrous.

The close family life and love that they share is heartwarming. Even though they are a Duke and Duchess with busy lives of their own, they ensure that they spend as much time with their children and each other as possible.

We meet their friends as it gets closer to the wedding and experience some of the pomp and expense involved in a wedding like this.

I think readers will enjoy this novella and take away some smiles from it.

This is a wonderfully fun, cute read. It's part of a series which I haven't read (YET) but I never felt lost or confused. It's the story of a royal couple married five years with two kids (soon to be three) trying to balance family, royal duties, and their own relationship. Dylan and Lydia are a great couple and the way they handle everything with patience, understanding, love, and a fair amount of humor was fun to read.

I will absolutely be going back and reading this series. I really enjoyed the author's writing style and I need to know this couples whole story. I highly recommend this quick read.

I had not read any of this authors books before and I had not realized that this was a continuation in the series. Even though I did not see read the previous books I was able to get up to speed pretty quickly and added the authors previous works to my wish list. Very cute couple, lots of laughter, love and hot times. Also liked the sneak peak in the world of the Royals.

Like the trilogy before it, this story was adorable. It wasn’t truly its own book, but more of a glimpse into the world of Dylan and Lydia a few years down the road.

Five years of marriage and two children later, this couple was as sexy and sweet as ever. And as the craziness of being part of a royal wedding ensued while Lydia was about 80 months pregnant with their third child, it was as a pleasure to see these two and a host of other characters I have missed.

In this story, we have Princess Caroline, an heir to the throne of England, marrying her commoner husband and at the behest of the Queen, Lydia becomes part of the royal wedding party. Interspersing the problems of an over the top pomp of a wedding of this magnitude with the day to day realities many married couples face, I loved how the author made these foreign circumstances seem almost relatable. From Dylan’s quest to have sex despite constant interruption to Lydia trying not to go into labor at the royal nuptials, I fell in love with these two all over again.

If you haven’t checked out the Royal Scandal trilogy, you need to. With Royal Baby fever hitting all over again, this is the perfect glimpse into the life of the English peerage, and an introduction to an adorable couple.

The city girl who lost her heart to a royal. With royal wedding fever in full force all over the world, it's only fitting that Dylan and Lydia drop in on the fun. The Royal Scandal series has been an addiction for me from the beginning, so it's nice to catch up with old friends. This time around these sexy unconventional royals are about to become parents. Marriage hasn't dulled the spark or the chaos of this engagingly crazy couple. Just when they seem to have figured it all out, more drama ensues. Swift never loses her sense of humor as she continues to speak to the heart. In my opinion Lydia and Dylan put that other royal couple on notice.

This was a good book that I enjoyed. Lydia was close to 9 months pregnant when the queen had her husband's old girlfriend. (Princess Caroline- the future queen of EnglSo the storand) asked her to stand up with her at her wedding. Her husband (Dylan) was hugely against it, but can you really say no to the Queen of England. Not really. whole story was how they both dealt with it. Some of it was comical, some was very real and I enjoyed it all. I got this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

A light-hearted look at relationships in the royal bloodline. A bit to flat for me in character development and rising action was lackluster. Intrigued only because of all the fandom surrounding the royals in reality. Not my style of a good read but if you are looking for a super light read and love royal rules and expectations, this might be the book for you.

This book is a part of a series which I have loved reading, you don’t have to have read the series in order to read this book though. This is a short story about Dylan and Lydia awaiting another addition to their family and a wedding on the same day that she is due to give birth.

Drama ensues, but this book is really a light and fun read because it shows their love and devotion to each other which I loved. I’m hoping that we do get a Daphne and Nick book too because that sounds like it would be so incredibly hot.

For fans of Parker Swift, I think you’ll love this read.

First let me say I wasn’t sure what to expect. But. It was great you could read this as a stand-alone. It’s definitely better if you’ve read the three previous books but still very good. The author makes sure you get dominating dukes with a protective streak that goes on an and on!!

Authors Blurb: What to expect when you're royally expecting

In five years of marriage to Dylan Hale - the hottest (not to mention most deliciously insatiable) duke in England - I've learned one cardinal rule: Never say "no" to the Queen. Her orders? I'm to be the matron of honor at the royal wedding of the century... which is, coincidentally, my due date. Dylan's plan is to seduce me into an early labor to avoid this royal ruckus. So now I'm caught between the Queen's command... and my sexy duke's desire.

I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in female POV this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

This was a very quick, lovely read. I didn't realize that it was a series, but honestly you don’t need to read the previous books to understand this one.

This is the story of Lydia and Dylan, a happy married, working-full time couple, parents of two kids and waiting for a third. If this wasn’t enough, they are also loyal subjects that don’t know how to say NO to the Queen.
Thereby, if you would like to spend an afternoon dreaming about a perfect love, don't lose other time and read this book.

A special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc

SO CUTE!

I've never read the previous books but this novella works as a standalone too, I feel. Dylan and Lydia are so cute together! I love married couple romance because of all the domesticity. Their children are cute too. I'm definitely gonna go back and check out their book now.

This felt as though I was being told the story, which made it boring despite how short it is. I think the way this is written contributed to how unrelatable the characters came across.

After all the five-star reviews I decided to request this novella, although I hadn't read any of the other parts of the series. Maybe I should have read the other parts first. For the storyline, you don't need to read the rest of the books. Lydia is married to Duke Dylan Hale and she is very pregnant. The granddaughter of the Queen is getting married on the day that she is expecting her third child. However, the Queen has requested Lydia to be the matron of honor during the ceremony.

Duke Dylan is not very keen on having his highly pregnant wife run around in her last weeks of pregnancy. So, whenever possible, he comes to save his damsel in distress. The story has a count down of days until the wedding at the beginning of each chapter.

In all a cute read, but not very entertaining and even a bit bored. You still will finish the book, just as I did, because you will want to know when Lydia will go into labour: before, during or after the wedding...

So, in all, two and a half stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
