While the patterns are lovely, many are not for beginners. This title only has written directions (no charts) which are laid out pleasingly. There are a variety of choices to accommodate your preferences and yarn stash.

Dishcloths to Crochet: Fun Designs to Brighten Your Kitchen! is a collection of 25 whimsical and kitschy dishcloth patterns. Included here are Cheeky Chicken, Proper Penguin and Perky Pig among others. These are previously published vintage patterns from 1982 that have been updated and revised for this collection.

The patterns are clear and well written with a picture of the finished dishcloths. This is a nice way to add vintage crochet patterns to your pattern collection.  I would say these patterns range from advanced beginners and on. Some of the patterns call for crocheting with cotton thread and small hooks like size 3.25, but I could see being able to use a larger hook and regular cotton yarn for these as well. I don’t crochet with thread and anything under a size 4.00 hook myself.

I think all the patterns are way too pretty for actual dish washing use but would make great gifts and would decorate any kitchen nicely and give your decor a vintage look. There is something special about vintage anything, the nostalgia is nice.

I  don't know why it took me so long to review this book. I learned to crochet this summer and was able to make a few of these adorable patterns for holiday gifts. The owl is probably my favorite, but the bee is also adorable.

In general, the instructions are easy to follow, the patterns work up quickly and easily, and the designs are simply adorable. This is a great book for every skill set and level.

I received an advanced reader’s digital copy of this book and the images did not transmit well.  The script did.  What I can say about the script is that it was well executed in detail to help me to perfect my very own dishcloth in some very creative patterns.  That was the thing that intrigued me to check this book out in the first place. It’s always a nice thing to dress up the kitchen and also to be inspired to make gifts for others.  Happy crocheting.

I don't recall ever reviewing a crochet pattern book before so I'm not entirely sure what all I should say about it. Forgive me if this review isn't extremely long. The patterns in this book are extremely easy to understand and follow along with. The work produced by these patterns are way too cute. I think my favorites were the owl and the penguin! Crochet dishcloths are some of my favorite things to make, mainly because I love using them so much. There's that new scrubby yarn out and it works wonderfully! The copy of the book I received for review purposes did not include pictures, but I did make every dish cloth in this book and they all turned out way too cute.

One thing I really liked was that each pattern started out with the name of the pattern, suggested yarn, guage, notions needed and finished sizes. There was a stitch glossary included in the book, which was helpful.

Crochet patterns are available all over the Internet, but there are times I want to sit in my cozy recliner and read a pattern book.  This book of crochet patterns fits that bill nicely.  The patterns are creative and work up nicely.  If you like to work with thread, there are several nice patterns in this book.  I prefer cotton yarn and wish there were more patterns using cotton.  I may try crocheting with cotton yarn using a pattern designed for thread to see the size difference.  It may make a nice hot pad or potholder.

This book has some super cute, fun, happy dishcloths to crochet! I liked that there were projects using varying weights of cotton yarns, ensuring that I would be able to find a project to make from my stash more easily!

Great variety of patterns and LOVE that there is a picture of each one. Directions seem simple to follow (I was not able to crochet any before the galley expired). You could certainly create unique housewarming gifts or bridal shower gifts to fit the person's unique interests or style.

Cute ideas with instructions that are easy to follow. The photos are fantastic too -- love this book!

This book is full of innovative, fun little dishcloths to crochet. The patterns are well written and simple to understand, allowing crocheters of all experience to make them. The bee is on my list!

This book is full of cute crochet dish cloths!  The directions are well written and easy to follow.  I was able to make several of these cloths in a few hours each.  The photos are good, and the finishing tips are handy.  I would recommend this to anyone who likes to make cute dish cloths.

Author and designer Pat Olski has resurrected some truly great patterns for Dover. These were all originally published in an earlier edition and were collected from various "woman's own" pages and the like. In keeping with the needs of today's crafters, Pat has re-written the patterns; especially useful since old patterns often assume a familiarity with the craft that the modern crafter might not possess. Pat also dispensed with superfluous elements, like the wings on the penguin, that are only going to get in the way. A lovely collection of vintage designs sure to appeal!

Pat Olski's Dishcloths to Crochet features 25 dishcloth patterns ranging from a bumblebee to a watermelon.  The range of patterns is sure to provide something for everyone.  The instructions are clear and written well enough for a moderate beginner like myself to follow.  Each pattern features information about the finished size, yarn used, and gauge.  The strawberry dishcloth is my favorite with the pansy coming in a close second.  I can see myself using the pattern book as my crochet skills grow.

This book has the cutest dish cloth patterns. You simply cannot go wrong buying this book. I like the patterns very much because they cheer up the kitchen and bring a splash of color to the kitchen sink.

These were so much fun to make.  The directions were easy to follow. I can't wait to give them as gifts!

However .... I have seen a sample of the book and am very impressed by the quality of the writing and imagery. I'm only just learning how to crochet so this gives some great ideas to help learners progress with the techniques.
