I'm always drawn to the ridiculous, and this sort of book can be just as entertaining for adult readers as for younger readers.
This Is a Taco! is a fun book about making your own story.

Not all squirrels are happy living off nuts and tree bark. Some prefer a good crispy taco, and can you blame them? This delightful picture book is the story of one such squirrel who dares to fight the narrator and find its own happy ending with tacos. Assisted by charming art work, this storybook is sure to be a fun read with your own rebel squirrels.

When I read a children's book to my 5 year old nephew I expect him to laugh and want to read it again. I don't think he really understood this one and said the squirrel was "kinda rude" for interrupting the story. I thought the story was cute but I think he is just a little too young to understand the true message about making your story what you want it be.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I was unable to read this book as the data was corrupt and would not open via kindle or Adobe Digital Editions. I would love to read it still if the file can be fixed.

Taco is a squirrel. He loves tacos. This book is designed to inform the reader about squirrels, using Taco as an example - however, when we get to a discussion of squirrel predators, Taco takes it upon himself to intervene, not wanting to be eaten by a hawk - and who could blame him?! Editing your own story requires a careful hand, though, as Taco soon discovers...

This picture book is both fun and informative - and would probably be a big hit at storytime!

I absolutely loved this book! I too love tacos, so the title caught my eye. It's about a squirrel who isn't a typical squirrel. He really loves tacos. It gives some fun squirrel facts as well. It's so funny and clever. This would be great for even kids that are a little older (like 2 grade) down. If you get a chance to read this, do it!

Taco is a silly, funny squirrel which we had a lot of fun reading about. The books started with some information about squirrels, then changes to another narrative done by Taco. It's kind of teaching kids with engaging illustrated books. Eventually if the character is cute, kids love it. And Taco is very cute :)
We loved it, recommended.

Kids love silly books. Sometimes the kind of humor that kids love, works for adults as well. In this case, it was dumb humor, which I usually don't like, but it worked for me. The fourth wall has come down, and Taco, the name of the squirrel , takes over.

This starts out being an educational book about squirrels, but then jumps the shark, and goes off the rails, as Taco takes over the narrative, and saves his own life.

Taco is funny, and silly and dumb, and I had a lot of fun reading about him.

The perfect antidote for all those books out there that try to teach science in pitcure books.

I really wanted to read this book but the PDF doesn't work.

Short and mildly humorous tale about a squirrel named "Taco," who prefers, um, tacos over nuts and other squirrel fare. Throughout the book. Taco rewrites text to his benefit. For instance, when the book describes hawks as the natural predators of squirrels, Taco writes him out of the story with a "boom." Although not actual cartoon illustrations, the art is cartoony. Doubtless, some children will enjoy this silly story. We'll pass on this one.
