Full review on Goodreads. I didn’t expect to like this one this much or seek out the author’s other book, but that’s exactly what happened. Well written.

‘Enjoy’ feels like the wrong word to use about a grief memoir, but as someone who reads a lot of grief memoirs (god help me), this has by far been the one I’ve enjoyed most. Silber’s writing is engaging and warm and open-heated, and she articulates some really difficult ideas of bereavement in new and fresh ways. Whilst I understand the use of various play script formats in the context of Silber’s career, I far preferred it when she wrote without these crutches. What is so brilliant about her writing is that you feel she is speaking directly to you, and the listicles/formats remove you from this intimacy. It’s a book about life and love as much as it is about grief, and I laughed and cried through it.
