I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

I truly enjoyed this story but there a few times I wanted to slap Joe to wake him up! I thought I knew where the end was headed but I was very wrong my friends! That ending twist got me really good! Always appreciate the short chapters because you can run literally through the entire novel in one sitting as they're very engaging. a very original story in my opinion.

TM Logan continues to be an author who keeps me at the edge of my seat. This book was filled with delicious twists and turns.

This book was good took me awhile to go through but it didn't disappoint. The characters were well thought out and believable.

Holy plot twist. I can honestly say I did not see that coming!

Joe sees his wife out and about when she is supposed to be at work and follows her to a hotel. There, he finds her in a heated argument with Ben, a family friend that goes way back… and from there things get crazy.

Literally from the beginning this novel is a mind f**k. Who’s cheating who? Who’s being true…? And whatever else Alan Jackson said in that song. This is very much a mystery/thriller and I would highly recommend for fans of B.A. Paris.

Wow! Excellent page turning psychological thriller with an ending I did not guess AT ALL ahead of time! This was my first TM Logan novel and won’t be my last. Joe was a bit naïve but likable main character. The narrator of the audiobook, Leighton Pugh, was also very good.

**Thanks to NetGalley and the author and publisher for the e-arc I received in exchange for my honest review, sorry it took me so long!**

I really enjoyed this one, I didn't read much about the book before I started it and it was a roller coaster. It had quite a few twists and turns and just when you thought you knew where the story was going the reader is hit with another TWIST.

Enjoy!

This was an okay thriller. The story is centered around Joe and his wife Meg. He suspects an affair when he sees her and the husband of her best friend together. This is when the first of many lies Meg threw Joe's way. Joe is a fool and believes each new lie until a different story comes out and he believes the next lie. There were many unbelievable parts, and the characterization of Joe's and Meg's child was uneven. His actions and dialogue weren't always age appropriate -- too infantile or too mature. Aside from the annoying characters and details, this kept me reading with lots of twists and turns with a satisfying ending.

Joe Lynch is a happily married man with a beautiful wife and a gorgeous little boy when he stumbles into the middle of a scenario he doesn't understand and his whole world starts to crumble.

This is a fast paced thriller with lies, lies and more lies leading Joe down a terrifying path where nothing is what it seems and he is slowly being framed for something he didn't do. A very contemporary story with social media and technology playing a major role in Joe's nightmare. Suspenseful and highly addictive! 4.5★

Wow, do you really know anyone. People see what they want to see and believe is what Ben says, so true. The deceiver/liar is acting and living a lie always on good behavior until desperation sets in. Joe Lynch picking up his son William from school. William yells out the various makes of cars and says, he sees mommy's car and ask can we go see mommy. Joe thinking it is someone's car, see the license plate and says it is mommy's car and follows her, big mistake which sets off a chain of events that has an presumably innocent man facing charges. The spins in this book was good. At the end, what Joe figures out isn't revealed right away and the story ends, but not enough details for me. I need the details: when the police arrives, what his attorney says, social media, Joe's job, Joe's best friend Adam, etc.

Loved the book! I was immediately drawn into this domestic suspense and entertained by the cast of characters. I really appreciated that the protagonist was the husband rather than the wife and that he was a stay at home father. I did get the twist toward the middle of the book, but that didn't diminish my enjoyment one bit.

Intriguing from the very first page. This was a quick, and enjoyable read for anyone who loves a good domestic thriller. Featuring suspicious spouses, a murdered family friend, and a whole lot of lies. Can Joe find the truth in time to save his marriage?

A huge thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I truly appreciate it!

I thought I had this mystery figured out but I did not see that ending coming. I was so mad at one character and then they did not deserve my ire at all. Joe is an interesting character & did not deserve the mess he found himself in. He’s just a regular guy: teacher, Dad, husband & friend. I really liked the whole family.

The pace of the story was excellent and as the mystery unwinds the story becomes crazy and wild. I really enjoyed it!

Thanks to NetGalley and St, Martin’s Press for the chance to read this book.

LIES - T.M. Logan

COMPELLING - 4 stars

Plot - 4 stars - When Joe happens to see his wife in a heated argument, he confronts the family friend she was arguing with and accidentally knocks him down. After caring for his toddler's asthma attack, he looks for the friend but can't find him. Thus begins the mystery.

Writing - 4 stars - I was caught up in the story from the first page and become more enmeshed as the book went on. Logan was able to build the suspense so gradually that I didn't realize how intense it felt until I put the book down from time to time to take a breather. Very effective.

Characters - 4 stars - Joe is a likeable character, a steady and nice man who doesn't aspire to greatness but loves his family and is contented with his average life. Mel, his wife, is more of a go-getter. She seems to be happily married, but unbeknownst to him, she's got a lack of confidence and contentment that is digging holes in their marriage. And the lies begin, much to his shock when they start coming to light. Ben is the shadowy figure that we meet briefly at the beginning, but he becomes the main character of the story as we watch Joe try to discover his whereabouts as well as his endgame.

Title - 4 stars - Joe's marriage and, in fact, his whole life turns out to be a collection of lies that he had previously had no idea about.

Cover - 4 stars - A slightly sinister looking cover.

Overall - 4 stars - This was a thriller that kept me turning the pages throughout. The suspense was built slowly and cautiously, until I suddenly realized that I was tense and worried on Joe's behalf. Then I felt compelled to keep turning the pages to discover what Joe would do next to clear his name. I shook my head many times at the cleverness of the scheme while being amazed that it was so relatively easy to completely manipulate the police and the public. I was captivated by this book and couldn't put it down. I will definitely look for more from this author.

I thought it was a decent book. It kept me wanting to know what happened. I figured somethings out along the way. It was interesting to see how it unraveled.

Logan’s domestic thriller, “Lies,” is a fast-paced thriller with tension building step by step till it’s so tight it’s ready to explode. It’s set in modern London in a world of cellphones and Facebook and humdrum domestic lives of shlepping kids around. But it’s a works that can come crashing down so fast you don’t have time to take a breath. It’s hard To put down and will keep your attention.

Poor hapless Joe. His whole life shatters into a thousand pieces as the trap draws tighter and tighter around him. He thought everything was peachy. Although, as a reader, you never fully buy into Joe’s naivety, particularly when he barely raises his voice when he finds out Mel betrayed him over and over again. Yes, he’s a beta, not an alpha, but it simply doesn’t ring true.

Finally, as a whole, the plot twists seem a bit too forced, particularly regarding the resolution. Nevertheless, it’s a quick read that will certainly hold your attention.
