This was a fast-paced yet well-developed romance full of steamy moments. I liked Cash and how loyal he is to his best friend despite giving in to temptation. The poor guy is remorseful. Most of the time. He can't help stay away from Callie. Lovely Callie just wants someone that understands her and supports her. She finds that in Cash but he's too faithful to his friend to give what they have a chance. His admirable quality becomes an issue between them and he might end up losing her.
Though I really enjoyed this story, it dragged sometimes and Callie's reason to make the first move on Cash was kind of unbelievable. Still, I totally recommend it.

Kelly Jamieson is a new-to-me author but the premise sounded good and I took a chance. It's a good book, I enjoyed the storyline very much. Callie is recently divorced but her parents still love her ex. She's a bit of a socialite and good Southern belle. Trying to find her way after her divorce, she finds herself wanting to open her own bakery, much to her parents’ and her ex's annoyance. Cash is her ex's best friend and he's also still his business partner, but he's still Callie's friend too. Cash has had a crush on Callie since the first time his best friend brought her around. Cash is a good man trying to do the right thing. His inner battle with what he wants and what he shouldn't have makes for good reading. Callie is a strong leading lady and goes for what she wants in her life. The two have some quite fun, steamy scenes in backrooms and bathrooms. But I was a little on the fence about Cash's pillow talk. I love a good dirty talker, but Cash wasn't pulling it off for me. The story got a little too drawn out towards the end, but still a good read. I'd call this a fun summer read.

This is a super cute, super sweet romance between two characters I didn’t actually expect to like. Privileged debutante divorcees aren’t usually my cup of tea, but I found it impossible not to love Callie just a little bit – even if she is rich, beautiful, and pretty much perfect. Cash has a slightly grittier past, but his Southern charm is even harder to resist.

The ex-husband’s-best-friend thing threw me more than a little at the start of this story. The circumstances around Cash and Callie’s relationship made it slightly more palatable but it took some time before I was able to invest in their relationship. There were times I felt that Callie’s personal growth/rebellion was slightly compromised because although Cash grew up poor, he still manages to tick all of her parents’ boxes for an appropriate partner.

Callie’s bakery is a wonderful fantasy career – and a realistic career for a trust fund kid. I’m not sure if I was supposed to applaud the fact that she actually started working instead of lunching, but I think it must be impossible not to be annoyed by the way Callie’s privilege allowed her contracts for lucrative society events before she even had business cards printed.

Ultimately, this is a sweet and frothy romance between two impossibly perfect people. It’s probably a little bit too fluffy for me but it is a charming story and a perfect easy beach read.

I have read a number of Kelly Jamieson novels, and this is another good addition to the collection. The writing style is easy and conversational, and it doesn't take long to get into the story.

I really liked both Cash and Callie's characters, although the fact that Cash had loved her for years and she really had no clue showed just what a good guy he was! Mind you, once he gets a chance to get close, he cannot resist, and his expectations for the chemistry were not wrong... they definitely click! The bathroom incident at the engagement party was very funny.

There are a number of lovely cameo roles too – for example, Callie's grandparents – which add to the depth of the story and bring to life the reasons why Callie behaves as she does. Do make sure that you are not hungry when you start to read, as the deliciousness that comes out of her kitchen and bakery had me wishing I had something frosted to hand! Cookie shots are something I am going to have to try making.

A lovely, sexy, and sweet read which was very entertaining.

Callie finds herself at her very own divorce parties. Her divorce from Beau has been over for a year but she left Texas for a trip around Europe. Now she is back home, and her friends have thrown her a party. She wants to do something with her life besides being a trophy wife and baking is something she loved doing while she was in Paris.

Cash has been a friend to Callie since Callie started dating Beau, he was Beau's best friend since they were in college. The more Cash got to know Callie, he found himself falling in love with her. But he couldn’t say anything because Beau and Callie were falling for each other. Now that they are divorced, he finds himself wanting her more but feeling guilty as if being with her is betraying Beau. He doesn't want to lose Callie as a friend, but he can't lose Beau as a friend and business partner.

Can Callie make her bakery vision come to life? Will Cash show her how he really feels? Will Callie's family keep pushing her to get back together with Beau?

This is a really good story that is a fun, sweet, and loving story that will have you rooting for the good guys to win in the end. If you are looking for a really good friends-to-lovers story, then this one is for you.

SCREWED is one of my favorite Kelly Jamieson books EVER! It’s funny, sexy and a tiny bit taboo. Callie and Beau have been divorced for over a year. After enjoying some time abroad, she has recently returned to the states. She needs to prove to everybody and herself that she can make it on her own. She decides to open her own bakery against her parents wishes. She also goes after something else she wants…her ex’s best friend and business partner, Cash. There were so many elements of this story I enjoyed. Most of all there was the man himself, Cash. He was charming, sexy and such a gentleman. While he always had feelings for Callie, he hid them. Never let on to anyone that he was in love with his best friend’s wife. Callie never found herself attracted to him until well after her divorce was final. That detail right there made the entire story for me. It gave Callie such character and never diminished her marriage to Beau even if he threw it away. The only thing I found lacking was the epilogue. I like them to be a bit farther in the future than a week.

This story truly is a HEA! What happens when your best friend ends up screwing over the woman of you dreams? You take your time and sweep her off her feet and never look back.

The story of Cash and Callie's not so easy foray into hooking up will steal your heart!

I received this ARC for a fair and honest review.

I am a big fan of Kelly Jamieson and I really loved the premise of this one. This is the kind of forbidden romance I like. Callie has finally divorced her cheating ex Beau after a year of separation. She is still really good friends with her ex’s best friend and business partner Cash. They wind up getting really close but can a relationship between these two work? I really loved that Callie did not care about her ex. She was used to being a people pleaser but once she left her ex, she also left that behind. She was focused on what made her happy and that was baking and Cash. Cash came from a different life than Callie. He was raised by a single mom and Beau really introduced him to the good life and he didn’t want to betray him by dating his ex even though he knows Beau is cheating scum. Beau was still a good friend to him. I loved the relationship between Callie and Cash. I thought they were the cutest couple together. I liked Cash's revelation to Callie about his feelings. Sometimes I think books like this have superficial reasons keeping the couple apart but in this one the reasons were really legitimate and a real conflict in the story. I was surprised at the character that created the issue that caused conflict between the hero and heroine. One part of the story I didn’t care for was the issue with Cash’s father. I see why it was added but I still think the dad was a jerk. He could have left Cash’s mother and still had a relationship with his kids. This just peeved me off but it’s not a big part of the story. Overall I really loved this one. I can’t wait for what Kelly has next.

4.5 fabulous fun flirty stars

I have read this author's hockey romances and have enjoyed them so figured I would check this one out. This type of read is usually not my normal read, I tend to stay away from this type of forbidden romance but decided to check this one out after seeing some comments that this was a really sweet story.

This was a fun, sweet and sexy ready that I must say was surprised with my enjoyment of it. I really enjoyed the Callie's strong character, I am so tired of the same old same old whiny and weak damsel in distress female lead characters, they truly are a turn off for me. I also really loved Cash's character, I liked the fact that even though he always had feelings for her, he respected his friendship and partnership with Callie's Ex-husband and even after they divorced he struggled with crossing that line. I also really loved the dynamic the author built between these two and really felt engaged in their story, so many times I had to put it down to deal with real life and just didn't want to.

Overall this was a great story that was sweet with a side of HOT HOT HOT. I really enjoyed her writing, took me a bit to get into the 3 person POV as it's been a while and I usually struggle with it but after a bit it faded away for me. Really glad I decided to check this one out.

Kelly Jamieson crafts a highly mature, sweet and enjoyable contemporary Texan romance.

With her marriage over and tired of continually failing to uphold her family’s expectation, Callie Sutherland has realized she needs to live her own life and go after what she wants. Finding something to do with her love for art and baking would be nice, but what she really wants is her ex-husband’s best friend and business partner.

No matter how he spins it, Cash Hale is Scr3w3d! He’s been in love with his best friend’s girlfriend, later wife and now ex-wife since the all met. But his friend made the first move and now he’s stuck in the friend zone because he’s nothing if not loyal and wouldn’t dare violate the bro-code… except for her. Will he risk his business and friendship to be with the woman of his dreams?

The novel explores Callie’s newfound independence as she ignores her parent’s wishes to reconcile with her cheating ex-husband and searches for her true purpose and happiness while Cash struggles with his undeniable feelings for Callie, his loyalty to his best friend and his outlook on life and relationships based on his own father’s deception. Cash and Callie’s friendship went back for year as witnessed through flashbacks, but the extended freedom they were given with Callie’s divorce allowed them to test the boundaries of that friendship and give into their attraction although still within their own contrived limitations due to Cash and Beau’s friendship and business dealings.

Quite a lot of self-discovery, budding romance and sexiness happens, and Cash and Callie are certainly endearing central characters, yet I was never fully hooked. A romance full of everything from a divorce party to bro-code breaking confession, Jamieson writes an entertaining read that even with its even keel will surely produce lots of smiles

Screwed is a standalone contemporary romance by Kelly Jamieson. Told from both points of view with a happy ending.

Cash Hale fell in love with his best friend's girl, but for years has done everything he can to keep his feelings buried. However, now that Callie and his best friend are divorced, Cash finds it hard to stay away from her, even though he knows getting involved with his friend's ex is a bad idea. But with Callie finally getting her life on track the way she wants and Cash being so loyal, will they get their shot at happy ever after or will Callie have her heart broken all over again?

Out of all the books I've read by Ms. Jamieson, which is a lot, this story is definitely up there fighting for a top three spot of this author's best books for me. Not only because it encompasses the forbidden relationship trope, a trope that leads to some interesting will-they-or-won't-they tension-filled moments; but because it has two wonderful characters that have fascinating back stories and go through a lot on their journey to happy ever after including the heroine finally making her parents understand that her life is -- just that -- her life and whether the hero would fight for his future with the heroine by being a little less loyal to a best friend who is a total jerk and didn't deserve Callie.

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories and I loved how it bounced back to the past a couple of times. Clearly, Cash was in love with Callie even back then, but fought his feelings because he's a good friend. Moreover, the heroine is resilient, courageous and I liked how determined she is to go after what she wanted in both her professional and personal lives. She's talented and deserves to show her talents off, no matter whether her parents approve of her plans or not. Luckily, she has good friends that make up for her parents always making her feel like she isn't good enough.

While the hero, he's confident, a good guy and I liked how determined he was to resist the heroine, even though it was impossible the more time he spent with her. I also liked how supportive he was of the heroine's dreams and that he didn't let anyone keep her from achieving something for herself instead. Why can't her parents see that she's better off without her ex? Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero was the close relationship he shared with his family and how he's done everything he can to make life easier for his mother.

Overall, Ms. Jamieson has delivered a wonderful read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was off-the-charts; the romance was hot and had me loving that the hero and heroine couldn't resist each other no matter how hard they tried; and the ending had me loving how these two fight for their happy ever after. No way can the hero let Callie get away a second time. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story up perfectly, as the heroine is determined to show her parents that life is good now that she has the right man by her side. I would recommend Screwed by Kelly Jamieson, if you enjoy second chance romances, the forbidden romance trope or books by authors Sarina Bowen, Kristen Proby, Victoria Denault and Erin Nicholas.

I loved this one! This is a new to me writer, but the writing grabbed my attention from the first page. The writing flowed well, and I loved the characters. Cash and Callie were so good together, and their chemistry was hot! I loved Cash. He was loyal and supportive. He was in the wrong with how he handled Callie though. A conversation can go a long way in clearing things up. Callie was stronger than she gave herself credit for. I liked that she knew what she wanted and went for it, despite her family. I would have liked a little more closure with her mom. I felt like she should have apologized to Callie for the way she treated her. This was the first title I've read by this author, but it definitely won't be my last!
I voluntarliy reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

An interesting story by Ms. Jamieson. Good foundation to the story. Excellent romance elements Thanks!

Up front and honest. The title didn't get me but the synopsis did.
I just wanted to read this book.
And I did in a day and a half. I could not put it down. From page
Callie and Cash had me. I was swept along with them and was almost fanning myself from the heat.
I loved the characters all of them. Even Callie's stupid ex. Who is Cash's best friend and business partner.
Although the best friend part becomes tenuous after Beau is caught in an affair which leads to the divorce and Callie's freedom from a marriage that really never should have been.
Throughout the story Cash struggles with his interest in Callie and stepping over the line in their friendship when they become lovers.

I 'got' her parents. Did I like them actually I did. Even though they weren't the best parents because they were more interested in business and society they were nice people. Mommy was over the top and a mess but deep down she loved her daughter. She just had a hard time showing it. Although they pushed Callie to go 'back to'
Beau and didn't support her business and life choices in the end they accepted all Callie's decisions and.

Screwed was a great romance with a bit of sizzle. This is one that would make mama more than blush but I'd suggest she give it a chance. Screwed is worth the read. The bedroom scenes are hot and there are a few f-bombs and some language.
My Jazzy Grandma might just like it. Mama wouldn't!

I really enjoyed Screwed by Kelly Jamieson and look forward
to reading more.

I received a complimentary copy.

You would be forgiven for thinking that the title of this book means that this book is something completely different to what it actually is.
Screwed isn't as bad and dangerous as it sounds. It's actually a very sweet lovely story. Well written with connectable characters.

There is not much to say about Screwed. It is sweet romance about two friends finding love together after one of them goes through a bitter divorce. The book is surprisingly low on drama considering the storyline of Chase being best friends and business partners with Callie's ex.

Callie is a sweet young woman who deserved better than the garbage Beau (her ex) put her through. And Chase is such a good guy that I'm pretty sure if he wasn't business partners with Beau he would have moved on from the friendship after what Beau did to Callie.

Chase and Callie were clearly meant to be together and it was a fun time watching them move from friends to a romantic relationship.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance.

This story features Cash and Callie. Two people who were maybe meant to be together years ago and finally have the chance to find that out now. He's her ex-husband's best friend and difficult choices need to be made. Someone will get hurt.

This is an SUPER sexy story with great characters. I love the excitement at the end. Well deserved!

This is the first romance that I have read by Kelly Jamison that wasn’t a sports romance. Screwed is a steamy, angsty, yet sweet romance about a woman who finds her own self-worth after her divorce and a 2nd chance at love with her ex’s best friend. Callie is recently divorced and starting over. Her family isn’t supportive of anything she has done recently including her divorce because Beau, her ex, was , in their eyes, the perfect husband for their business connections. Cash Hale is Callie’s ex-husband’s best friend and is also her friend. Their friendship escalates to this red-hot attraction, but as the attraction rises so does the obstacles in their way! In this story, we find out Cash has been in love with Callie for years but never acted on his feelings until now. Will Callie and Cash let their romance go all the way for an HEA or will Cash pull back because of his friendship with Callie’s ex? This was a good read, with the right amount of drama, angst, tension and romance.

My Rating: 4.5 stars *****

Kelly Jamieson’s Screwed was originally published in 2016 as part of The Sutherlands: One Family Saga anthology. Since I didn’t read the book when it first came out, I don’t know if there has been any changes to the story.

Screwed is a taboo/forbidden relationship story featuring Callie Sutherland and Cash Hale. Callie is a socialite from a prominent Houston area family. Cash is a self-made, established business man. The two know each other from college. But their connection is deeper. Callie is the ex-wife of Cash’s best friend and business partner, Beau. Callie is also Cash’s secret crush, going back six years.

Immediately, my heart went out to Cash for being in love with Beau's ex for years. He had a ringside seat to all of the couple’s ups and downs. Whenever Callie hurt, he hurt. I enjoyed reading the story, but my God, I had a serious dislike for Callie’s parents who are all about money and image.

Callie and Cash are so much more than what you see on the surface. They each have backstories that they don’t talk about. These stories have helped to shape their lives and make them the people they are today. While they may be from different worlds, they are really good for each other. I don’t want to give away anything that happened, because honestly, while I couldn’t think of a way for these two to be together, they found a way. I loved that Callie found her inner-strength, true worth, and learned to truly love herself. I loved that Cash decided to look at his earlier life in a different way and embrace new possibilities. My only complaint is that I felt the story ended too soon. Yes, I know that the book is over 250 pages long but, the story ended during what I would consider to be an important moment in Cash’s life.

Dieses Buch ist eine gute Mischung aus Humor, eine gute Prise Sex und lauter Wirrungen in Sachen verbotener Liebe. Macht richtig Spaß zu lesen.

This is a second chance romance unlike any other I've read! Callie has been separated from her husband for over a year due to his affairs (and honestly his belief that they are no big deal JERK) but is finally finalizing her divorce. With a family that has pressured her into "marrying the right man" for the wrong reasons and enforce her to show a "proper image" she can't take the strain any more. She's intent to become her own woman and find her own happiness, in herself. The unplanned happiness? The sudden;u supportive and understanding Cash, her ex-husband's best friend. They've all been friends for year but Cash seems to want to develop feelings for Callie now that she's no longer with Beau.

Cash has a hard time dealing with his emotions for Callie. For one, he's had them for her for years, before she married Beau. But he felt it was his duty to bury those feelings and simply think of her as a friend. But after years of seeing Beau's treatment of her and her final axe to their marriage, Cash now has the ability to spend some more one on one time with her. Finding the woman she's become helps to grow those feelings into less friendly and more romantic ways. A chance night, and the two of them finally cave to their feelings only to discover the insane chemistry and ease with which they flow.

There's more to this than just a chance at finally getting the girl. Callie is trying to become her own woman and open her own business much to the dislike of her family. I did not like her family, or her ex-husband, at ALL. Elitist high-brow snots who spoke down to her at every turn; ooh I was rooting for Callie to speak up and out the whole book! And having to hide her relationship with Cash, that's going to put strain on any couple. A fun romance read that surprised me and had me hoping for the best!

Everything about this story and the characters captivated me. From beginning to the end, I was hooked. Screwed is so well written, Kelly Jamieson knows how to capture and secure the heart of her readers. This oozed heart felt goodness. And boy did I fall in love. This was blissful.
Cash and Callie are delicious together. Their personalities, their conversations, their chemistry....my, my, my. I was a goner, charmed by Cash’s southern charm, loyalty and manners beyond words. This was such a treat. A big, Delicious romantic treat for the heart. I can’t stop swooning. I’m absolutely smitten with every little detail that makes up this story. I also thoroughly enjoyed Callie’s feisty attitude, as well as her perseverance in doing something that she wanted to do, and not do what was easy or what her family wanted her to do.
There is such beauty in this love story, such decadent sweetness in their friendship to lovers Romance that transforms Callie and Cash. I ate up each page of this romance, watching their relationship grow was fun, and sweet, and sexy, and so good. I can’t recommend this story enough.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was so great and had me asking myself how I would handle a situation like theirs. Told in dual point of view, the reader gets an inside look of both Cash and Callie, and what has brought them to this point. Cash was in love with her for years, but his best friend started dating her first, so he backed away. Cake didn't like Cash at first, mainly because of his attitude when he was around her. After she finds out that her husband has been cheating on her, she divorces him (against her parents' wishes), his on a vacation, comes home, and has a divorce party. When she gets sloshed, Cash takes her home and they start up an even better friendship.
As they start spending more time together and he sports her in her decisions, something no one else has ever done, their attraction grows. When they finally give in, they both want more, but act v add if it can only happen that one time. But Cash has a hard time staying away, and Callie doesn't want to lose what they have built. They continue to see each other, behind closed doors, but they both want more but don't know how to achieve their goal, without destroying his career and her reputation.
I loved how supportive he was when she expressed what she wanted to do as a career. I was glad when she finally stood up b to her dad (and her ex). I couldn't believe what her parents expected her to do where her ex was concerned. She finally had to make a tough decision: keep their relationship a secret and fell like he was choosing his career over her, like her ex, or end things. When she makes her choice, it is heartbreaking and destroys Cash. Can Cash see the truth behind her actions and do what needs to be done (admitting to his business partner/her ex what has been going on) and picking her over his career, or will he lose the woman he had loved because of his sense of loyalty?
