What a fantastic read, thoroughly enjoyed it. I love this series of books they are always so full of twists and tension. This was a real page turner, I had a real job putting it down. I didnt see that ending coming it took me completely by surprise. Cant wait for the next one in the series!

Hillary works her last case as a DI before her early retirement - a murder on a business park - and pleasingly Frank Ross turns up as the night watchman. There is the murder investigation, the scam Frank is involved in, and the continuing saga of the mess Janine has got Hillary into. Each of these novels includes chunks filling the reader in on Hillary's ex-husband etc from way back before book 1 starts and I wonder if it is really necessary, although at least references to the infamous Dick Francis novel have petered out.

A quick enjoyable read. I look forward to the series where Hillary works on cold cases.
