Ever since reading Helter Skelter I have loved reading about Charles Manson so any book I see about him I am always intrigued to see what new stuff I might find out. While this book has a lot of information you already know it delves into more of what happened after that I didn't know about so that was fun to read. I definitely would recommend this for a Charles Manson True Crime fan.

Similar to the other Manson book I read, I was excited, but the content didn’t really deliver. I may simply have read too many serial killer books.

I have read many books about Charles Manson. This book is so well researched and presented, even if you have read many books about the subject matter, you will take something away from this book. I must say, this is one of my favorite books on Charles Manson, that is how well written it is. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review. Receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on my review.

When I saw this book on NetGalley, I was so stoked because I'm a huge true crime buff and I figured it would shed some new light into the Charles Manson and the family case, but it was all the same information that has been put out in numerous other books and interviews.

One of the things that tuned me off was the author and her author's note about how she was part of the "Christian Tradition" when it comes to the justice, that right there is a biased view and really it wasn't necessary to put your religious beliefs out there. It made me skeptical to even continue reading. As I continued reading I became more angrier. She decided to not name the victims as they have been everywhere else when she was describing them. And what in the blue is with the censoring of the curse words. I'd like to think we're all adults here and we can see curse words without having some asterisk being put in place. I just saw that to be childish and unnecessary.

I wanted to like this book, I really did but, It just didn't do it for me. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Lots of inside details on one of American’s most notorious serial killers. If you are an avid Mason researcher, then there’s not a lot of new information. The book was well written and contained a good timeline of events.

Since reading Helter Skelter at 13 I have read everything I could get my hands on about Manson and his family. This book has gone into so much detail and exposed facts I have never known before. Fast flowing and well written. Clear and concise this book clearly answers was Manson guilty of murder?

Interesting read if you haven’t already done your research on the Manson family. No “new” information or insight here, but I enjoyed the laying out of the facts. Good news! The Manson mystique is fake; he was just a slimy creep with too much ego.

This book was just average in my opinion. I didn't find a lot of new information and I felt the booked dragged.

I received this galley from NetGalley.

This book takes place 50 years after the Manson Family murders and dives into the reasons why this ever happened. I’m a huge fan of true crime and this read like any of my true crime favorites. I would highly recommend as these two investigators go back in time to see what happened and how we may be able to prevent it in the future.

Hunting Charles Manson by Lis Wiehl
Thank you #NetGalley for a copy of this well researched book.
Fifty years after the notorious Charles Manson and his Family committed several murders, Lis Wiehl with Caitlin Rother took a new look at the crimes. They researched the crimes as though it were a cold case and viewed the information with fresh eyes. Fortunately, they had access to transcripts, interviews, and social media to gather new details. Fifty years have passed. Is there anything we can learn from another look? Yes. We have better medical data on mental illness, drug abuse, and fractured families. All of these were contributing factors in the lifestyle of Manson and his followers. Could something like this happen again? Yes. There are lessons we can learn to better protect ourselves, our families and our society. Hunting Charles Manson was informative and thought provoking. I highly recommend reading this book.

This book is very readable and contains information that was new to me, although I have read extensively about Manson and his life. It certainly held my attention and, since I read it closely in time to the recent and soon to be published Leary book called "The Most Dangerous Man in America", it certainly held my attention. I recommend it.

I enjoyed this book. While most of it was stuff I already knew there a few new tidbits that were new to me. I found the book interesting and would absolutely recommend it to my true crime reading friends.

This was a very well written book. I love how in-depth it went. It shows the meat of who Charles Manson really was and what made him tick. How a group of teenage delinquents managed to become the hitmen for one of most prolific serial killers who never actually killed anyone as far as we know. This book gave the real inside picture into the mind and psyche of Charles Manson.

Great in-depth book about Mason. I love learning about things that happened in my home state. Even though there are a lot of materials, tv shows etc. already done on Manson I would still recommend this. I also really enjoyed how the content was broken into the chapters; it helped it flow.

I feel like every time a book comes out about Charles he just becomes more creepy to me. Pretty amazing that he was able to have all these people "follow" what he believe and was saying and they loved him so much. This may sound silly but I never knew he had children and grandchildren. I mean I know he had sex with a bunch of women but I don't remember hearing about his own kids.

Also I never knew someone in prison had set him Charles Manson on fire!!! I'm honestly shocked that no one killed him while he was in there or the others. very informative and a also provided new information for us readers.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC and also to the publisher.

I love it when the author researches so much that you learn more. Thank you to netgalley for allowing me to review this book.

This is a book about Charles Manson, it is the first book I've read about him. Some people say he did it, some people say he didn't do it. This book is well written. I plan on reading more by this author.
