This was a charming and funny love story. It had a bunch of little nods to the fairy tale, with a real life romance taking it's place. Oh and with a naughty twist. The Naughty Princess Club is definitely empowering these girls, and being able to find love while doing it is awesome. Belle is finding her strength and sensuality in this book. She moves out of her dad's basement into Beast's lair. She goes on some EPICALLY horrible dates. She's so smart, always spouting random facts, and I love how she is when with her friends. Also her coworker at the library is hillarious. Beast is gruff and grunty, strong and silent. She really brings out the best in him and I am so amused to everyone else's reaction to him, because reading from Belle's point of view makes you wonder why everyone else sees him the way they do. I didn't read book one and wasn't lost, so this can be read as a stand alone. And like any good fairy tale, it has a happy ever after. |
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. 4 stars I can't help myself with this series. Each time I start one, I expect it to be too Disney or too cute or too something and I think I approach them with an expectation that I will be disappointed. Yet, this is the second book in the series and the second time I have found myself enjoying all the things I thought were going to give me trouble. I don't think I can count the number of times that I have seen the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast as my daughter LOVED the movie. I know it by heart and I found that as I was reading, those echoes of the Disney moved were wonderfully placed and not over done. I found myself smiling at how well Sivec included those references. She was able to pull out the elements of Belle's movie character while giving her her own personality for this book series. In all, I found it to be a very pleasant read. A great distraction from the every day. |
There have been many versions of Disney fairytales over the years, but none have ever been done quite like this! In Bed with the Beast is book 2 in The Naughty Princess Club, and Tara Sivec's interpretation of Beauty & The Beast is like no other. There are no castles or magic here, just a naive, wanna be stripper, and a brooding, gorgeous bouncer. And somehow they equal the most addicting & hilarious fairytale I've ever read Isabelle Reading is 25, still lives at home, and is completely awkward. Until recently books were her only friends, but then she met Ariel & Cindy. Now she has two best friends and a new company - The Naught Princess Club. Super shy & inexperienced, Belle has been staying behind the scenes, but money's tight and she's ready to put herself out there. Awkward dates, embarrassing moments, and attempts at sexual exploration follow in her journey to become the best stripper she can be. For anyone who has read Tara Sivec before, you know she can write comedy with the best of them. Add in a beloved fairytale & strippers, and you have a comedic masterpiece! I couldn't stop laughing, and I adored Belle & Beast. But true star of this book is Mrs Potter. Please Tara, give us an entire book dedicated to old, dirty mouthed Mrs Potter!! If you are looking for a fun story that will keep you laughing, this is it! I can't wait to read about the rest of the Naughty Princesses!! |

I've read several other books by this author and have enjoyed most of them, but this one missed the mark for me. Maybe I'm getting too old, but these characters were so immature and childish I couldn't stand any of them. These are supposed,to be women, but they act like tweens. Belle was horrible to Vincent. The whole thing is kinda a train wreck......like watching jersey shore. So this one fell flat, for me. |
The Good, The Bad, and Everything In Between The Good -Beauty & The Beast inspired stripping rom? Yes please and thank you. Isabelle is adorable in the first book (her scene with the balloon Mis is great), and seeing the way Ms. Sivec has set up this ‘verse to be a crazy funhouse mirror to the classic fairy tales of Cinderella, Beauty & The Beast, and the Little Mermaid, you know the moment she meets Beast, that sparks are going to fly. Much like the first book, this is about the heroine’s journey, the way they learn to have confidence in themselves, to embrace their sexuality and the friendships that they form. I love that and it doesn’t hurt that it’s pretty damn fun. The Bad(ish) -Much the same as first, what doesn’t work is the same. It’s still first person POV, and if that’s your fave, this will probably not bother you. I just wanted some time in Vincent’s head or third person perspective, but that’s just my preference. The final obstacles haven’t quite worked, even if they serve their purpose to propel the story, I just think they’re not the strongest. And with this book, the only additional issue is that, in an effort to make this a standalone, there’s a bit of a flow stopping info dump in the beginning to catch the reader up. Everything in Between -I really do enjoy the humor and this ‘verse. It’s so fun, the characters have grown on me and Ariel? I’m coming for you girl. You are what I’ve been waiting for and I need her book in my life ASAP. The Bottom Line I liked Belle and Vincent’s romance and if you like the modern twist on fairy tales, I would recommend it. |
A blonde, a brunette, and a red head walk into a strip club... It sounds like the start of a joke or a porno but no. It's the start of a fun and highly entertaining business venture (or a book series). The Naughty Princess Club is everything you expect from suburbanites turned strippers. What!?! You haven't read how it all begins!? For shame! At The Stroke of Midnight started off this series of dominoes. In an unstoppable and way too much fun adventure, it's continued in In Bed with the Beast. This time it's Belle, the book worm nerdy librarian's turn at the pole! Clearly the Naughty Princess theme is key to this series. In these re-imaginings of the classic stories, it's hard to remember that it's an homage. The cute and funny side of Tara Sivec will blind you to the idea that you've read the basic plot before. The twist is worth it. The humor is definitely worth it. Tara Sivec brings a wildly inappropriate sense of humor and a bucket of lusty need to every book she touches. It would be a terrible disservice to not get naughty with the Naughty Princesses and their unintentional princes. Beauty and the Beast may be a classic that we all love and adore but In Bed with the Beast is definitely going to have you smirking and giggling long after you're done strutting your stuff. Awkward facts and all, Belle is everything you want in you new best friend. |
While I loved each character in this book and getting to see the other girls was great, I missed a connection that the first book had in this series. I really thought that the two MC's were going to have a much stronger pull on the page. BUT having said that, the story was still fun and worth an afternoon of reading. I smiled, laughed and even sighed out loud for the Beast. He was a much stronger character than I anticipated. I am glad that I read book two in the Naughty Princess Series and am looking forward to my favorite princess ( and prince)... Ariel and Eric. Happy Reading~ Sherry |
This book started off really good but around halfway through I just started to get bored, and I ended up skimming the last half of it. Belle and her friends acted and spoke like a bunch of teenagers. Since we never get any of Vincent's POV, he just came across like a one-dimensional cardboard cutout. I didn't feel any real connection between Vincent or Belle. Not to mention she spends the first half of the book going on one blind date after the other. Also, the fact that these heroines are strippers and their heroes are A-OK with them taking their clothes off for other men kind of bothered me. I have NO idea why it bothered me in this instance since I read books with sharing etc. and am not bothered by it, but here it annoyed me a lot. There is also only one sex scene very late in the book, so that was disappointing as well. That said, I did love Belle's father, and it did have a few laugh out loud moments. But all in all, it just wasn't my cup of tea, and I won't be bothering with the next book. |
What a way to turn a classic fairy tale into a cute romance (especially if Beauty and the Beast is your favorite fairy tale like mine)! This was a fun and quick read, perfect for times when you're fighting a dreaded reading slump. I think I would have enjoyed this even more if I had read the first book in the series first, but it was still great. There's loads of tension, funny banter and fighting that will make you turn the pages. |
A classic princess fairy tale with a modern twist. We met Belle, adorably geeky librarian, in the first book but her situation has changed. Her new stripping business has made her overprotective father uncomfortable and Belle has choices to make. Beast, hunky bodyguard at the strip club, isn't as scary mean as she thought. His past is interesting, a bit sad and very intriguing. I loved these characters and the way they each grew because of the other, made each other stronger. Her friend Ariel is a riot and will steal every scene she's in, every one. I'm really looking forward to Eric and Ariel's story, I predict sarcasm and spicy conversation. I received an early copy and wrote this review voluntarily. |

In Bed with the Beast is charming and funny and manages to retell the story of Beauty and the Beast without a truly beastly hero. In my opinion, this is a good thing-- I don't like captivity romance, dubious consent, or paranormal/shifters, and it's hard to retell Beauty and the Beast without those elements. Fortunately Tara Sivec is imaginative enough to bring us a truly charming, endearingly nerdy Belle, who of course is a librarian in her small town. Beast is Vincent, a grumpy bouncer with a beautiful house in the countryside, where there is a locked room. He brings Belle home to stay with him when she is left with nowhere to live, and their relationship develops slowly and with many, many misunderstandings along the way, many of which are absolutely hilarious. In the midst of all the hilarity there is also a very sweet love story, intertwined with the personal journeys of each of the main characters, who grow tremendousy as they get to know one another. I highly recommend In Bed with the Beast! |
Another laugh out loud, fantastic read by Tara Sivec!!! In Bed with the Beast is the 2nd book in the Naughty Princess Club series. It can be read as a standalone, but you are totally missing out if you have not read the first book, At the Stroke of Midnight as it crazy good!!! This hilarious story focuses on Belle, the quiet librarian and Beast (Vincent) the brooding bodyguard at Charmings. Although their encounters start of awkward, you will be grinning from ear to ear and rooting for these two to just hook up already!!! A sweet, yet steamy romance, an absolute favorite of mine!! I love this series and cannot wait for the next book! |
What a super cute book! If you read the first in the series, you got to know our shy, quirky librarian, Belle. She's the pretty girl that doesn't know she's pretty. She grew up sheltered with a single dad. She also grew up around books that may or may not have contributed to her awkwardness as she has grown into a 25 year old librarian who spouts off random facts when nervous. Pair her up with the jilted PTA mom, Cindy and the outrageous and slightly inappropriate, Arial and you have for a very entertaining group of friends. These three really were the most entertainment in book one but in book two we got to see more of a focus on Belle and Vincent. We get to see Belle grow from a shy, awkward girl into a more confident but still shy woman. As she is trying to gain confidence with men, Cindy and Ariel set her up on a bunch of blind dates. Vincent being the broody, growly man that he is, isn't too happy about Belle being in unsafe situations and can't stop butting into her dates. The author has spun this series into the modern day fairy tale theme. In the first book you have Cindy and PJ (Cinderella and Prince Charming). In book two, we have Belle and Vincent who is nicknamed Beast (Beauty and the Beast). And soon we will get book three with Ariel and Eric (Little Mermaid). If you love a book that makes you laugh like I do, I highly recommend this series. Tara Sivec really is the Queen of Romantic Comedy! |
Finally back with our three fairy tale strippers! Well, Cindy is the only stripper so far. But now it's time for Belle's story. Remember her? The shy, 25 year old librarian who is still living with her overprotective dad. But he kind of throws her out after finding out that she's one of those riffraff hookers! LOL! And after sleeping in her beloved library for a few nights, Beast, the bouncer from the strip-club takes her home with him. Belle already had a huge crush on Beast in the first book and now she's LIVING WITH HIM!!! But she's so unexperienced and shy. And he's so silent and grunty and secretive. She needs to learn how to flirt with guys. And she finally needs to start stripping if she wants to save her library! What will happen with Belle & Beast?? Will we get a happily ever after?? READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺ ══════════════════════════ description description LOL! The second book was just as adorably funny as the first one! Those three chicks are hilarious! Ariel, the antique dealer with absolutely NO filter. The prude housewife Cindy. Innocent librarian Belle. They SO don't fit together as best friends, but it works perfectly. And sexy beast. He's just what Belle needs in her life. They're perfect for each other. But there's a lot of stuff to overcome until we can ride off into our happily ever after sunset together! I just loved reading this book! Absolutely hilarious and adorable and sweet. I just adore this group of people! And I loved the moments with Belle's dad! (Not the moments at the beginning - the later ones!) I SO need Netflix to come and make a show out of this series! ☺ I'm a tiny little disappointed about Belle's mega-typical reaction and action when the 'thing', the 'reveal' happens towards the end. Why can't there be something a bit more original in books? Almost every single book uses this stupid reaction. I want something creative and new and fun and moving and unexpected! BUT - I still realllly loved the book and the people and the story and everything! IN BED WITH THE BEAST was such a hilarious & sexy & adorable RomCom! Run to your nearest amazon asap - you need to meet these ladies! And Beast of course ... but HANDS OFF ... he's MINE!☺ .... and now hurry - I need to read Ariel's & Eric's story asap! ☺ |
This is my third book by Tara Sivec, and I just don't think her particular brand of humor is for me. I really wanted to like this cute, light story that loosely follows Beauty and the Beast, but most of the jokes fell flat. Belle is the type of heroine that I don't typically enjoy. She is 25 but acts like a petulant preteen, and she is supposed to be charmingly spastic and socially unaware, but she comes across as immature. I found her spouting of random facts to be sort of... puzzling. I also didn't love how she treated Vincent, who was clearly enamored with her from the start. She was inconsiderate on multiple fronts, and invaded his privacy more than once, though Vincent himself was no angel. I found his stalking to be borderline obsessive and, frankly, unappealing. What I enjoyed about the story was the ways thatTara Sivec tied in Beauty and the Beast. It was clever and witty, and I enjoyed all the hidden ways that the stories aligned. I also enjoyed how light the story was. It was a break from all of my heavier reads, and I dug the escapism aspect. I don't think the stripping princess theme appealed to me as much as it will to some readers. At times, I felt the story was trying too hard to be funny and too hard to be sexy, neither of which quite landed with my particular tastes. However, I think if you are a long-time Tara Sivec fan, you will be pleased with this one. *Copy provided in exchange for an honest review* |
In Bed with the Beast is the first book I have read by Tara Sivec and the second book in the series! I really loved this! Belle was so awkward and random but I seriously loved her! Beast was sexy gruff, growly, possessive and all alpha but he was sweet! Belle and Beast had alot of sexual tension and the awkwardness of Belle gave us funny interactions between them. I really loved them together! This book was so funny. Belle, Cindy and Ariel were crazy!! I can't wait for Ariel's book and I am definitely going back and reading Cindy's book! |
Sometimes I believe authors think readers are numb-skulled. This thought kept going through my mind as I read on. This book was just an insult. It is perhaps the worst book I have read this year. I don't post negative reviews. |
I don't understand why everyone is raving about this book or maybe I'm just broken, but I didn't like this book sadly |
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it. The second book in The Naughty Princess Club is about Belle and Beast "Vincent". When her girlfriends end up getting her kicked out of her dad's house she decides to sleep/live/work in the library. Beast starts showing up about an hour before close every night and feeding her. Belle thinks her living arrangement is still her secret until Beast has other ideas and lets her live in his house and by the long list of rules he gives out. Belle is in desperate need of money, so she can get her own place and keep the struggling library she loves alive. Her friends think she needs more experience and set her up on disastrous blind dates through a dating app. Belle finally convinces her friends she is the next one to start having stripping party bookings of her own. Vincent is not too happy but has his own skeletons and secrets of his own! I could not read this book fast enough! I eagerly await the final instalment of this series! |
