They just complement each other so well! Beast is nothing like everyone thinks. It is surprising all the potential he has and how much better he is than everyone else. Turns out he is the perfect guy for Belle. The one that will listen to her while she goes on and on. The one that will understand and support her passions and also become one her passions. And the one that will genuinely have the patience and desire to make her happy. She is a flower waiting to bloom and that she does with the help of her friends. They put a little spice in her to keep Beast on his toes. This read is so much fun and sweet and absurd sometimes with all the encounters Belle goes through... And one thing I really liked is the little details the author was clever enough to add that connects these characters with the ones we know from our childhood fairy tales. |
Belle is ready to embrace life. Having lived a sheltered life living with her dad she is ready to explore all life has to offer. Making mistakes and finally finding her happy ever after all she can think about. Saving her library and continuing her love affair with books give her the air she needs to breathe. Life throws a little hiccup along the way and Beast offers her what she needs at exactly the right time. Will she get her fairy tale or be forced to read about them in the books she loves. Absolutely hilarious. Love this series and excited for the next book. |
This is the first book I have read in this series but it won't be the last. In fact, I plan to go back and read book one while I wait for book three. Belle and her two friends, Cindy and Ariel are great. Cindy and Ariel are the best type of girlfriends you can have. Although, I would say that I liked Ariel a bit more. She is more outspoken and should sass. Yet, Belle is no wallflower, even if what she thinks is an appropriate date outfit...maxi dress. Per Ariel's standards, a maxi dress is not acceptable. Back to Belle. She showed plenty of sass herself. My favorite moments were when she would get flustered and start rambling facts. Vincent "Beast" has brooding down to an art. He pulled it off with just the right amount of sexiness and compassion as well. For example, when he decorated a room for Belle only to tell Belle he does not do "crying" and rushes from the room upon receiving compliments. Vincent and Belle sure could steam up a room with their attraction. I really enjoyed this modern twist on a classic. The characters had personality but it was the humor that kept me hanging on and wanting more. |
***I received an ebook copy from the author at no charge*** I'm really loving the modern day, sexy take on fairy tales that authors are giving us. This is the second book in The Naughty Princess Club series, and though I haven't yet read the first one, this was easy to read as a standalone. Belle lives with her dad, who is super controlling and way overprotective. His actions clearly stem from his love for her but eventually Belle has enough, and packs her bag and heads out. Her two best friends are the obvious people she should go stay with, but she has way too much pride for that, so Belle heads off to the library she works at and starts to sleep there. Enter Beast, a bouncer at a club in town. Belle has had a few encounters with him, and none have been pleasant. He's grumpy, brooding, has a horrible attitude problem ... and is sexy as hell. When he offers to let Belle stay with him, after noticing she never leaves the library. She doesn't want to accept at first but eventually caves and agrees to spend the night at his place. And thus begins an angsty, sweet, and sexy romance story. The characters in this book were amazing. Belle and her two best friends (Ariel and Cynthia) have a hysterical and fun relationship. They're all so different, with completely opposite personalities, but they complement one another perfectly and they're loyal to each other. I loved Beast. Getting to know him was a lot like peeling an onion. There were so many laters, and heartbreak has left him hardened to most things. But Belle ... she just might be the force that's needed to come around and break down the walls Beast so carefully constructed. I liked Belle too. She was kinda naive at times, but that fit into the story well. She's so incredibly passionate about the library, the books, and saving this place that she loves. And it was amazing to see her blossom over the course of the story. Being away from her dad and around someone new helped to bring her out of her shell, in my opinion. I loved that Belle didn't need Beast to rescue her. Unlike typical fairytales, Belle came out strong and was able to do things for herself and stand on her own two feet before she let herself have a happily ever after. This was such a fun read! There were a lot of moments that had me giggling fiercely, and of course some scenes that were hotter than hot. The story moved along at a good pace and I enjoyed how Sivec was able to keep some elements from the original Beauty and the Beast fairy tale there, while turning In Bed with the Beast into her own unique rendition of a classic and much loved tale. I loved Sivec's writing style and I'm finding myself wanting to go back and read the first book in the series, so I can get more of these characters and get to know Cynthia a little bit better. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and easy romance. Four stars to this novel! |
***5 ‘You Are Not The Boss Of Me’ Stars*** From the very first page I was laughing and cringing all that the same time. Not that I didn’t expect it. After reading At the Stroke of Midnight, I knew that Belle and Beast aka Vincent’s book would leave me with quite a bit of whiplash as well as more random facts floating around in my head than I thought possible, but it’s one thing to know what is coming and another thing to actually experience. But outside of the laugh/snort out loud moments and gaining of knowledge, In Bed With the Beast was all kinds of sweet, smexy and crazy and I adored every second of it. I adored Isabelle, even when my eyes went a little cross eyed, I adored her. She may be awkward, she may be prone to spouting off random, though pertinent, information there was an honesty to her that made her extremely likeable. The fact that she owned her quirks was a huge draw, but watching her find herself and finally see how strong she could be was what made everything worthwhile. Vincent. Beast. Vincent...No matter what you call the man, he is all kinds of growly, beastie, smexy alpha AF male goodness. His definitely has a short fuse, and there were moments were even I was like “Oh no he didn’t” but he proved time and time again just how golden his heart was. The man made me all kinds of dopey and twitterpated. As for their journey to their HEA. It was a mish mash of adorkable, angsty, laugh out loud goodness with a dose of smexy that I didn’t expect but felt it was perfect. I loved it when they went at odds and went toe to toe as much as I loved when they were sweet and smexy. They got each other on a level that no one else could have, and one neither realized until they had both fallen hard for the other. I have to say I really liked how the author took the various themes from the Beauty and the Beast fairytale and made them her own. Some aspects she kept, some she didn’t, and some she put her own twist on and I thoroughly enjoyed the little tweaks she made. Of the new characters we meet, Mrs. Potter is my favorite and I have no doubt she will be yours too. Catching up with Cindy and PJ was fun and then there is Ariel. Now, I wish her book, Kiss the Girl, was on the Kindle right now, I do, believe me, I do, BUT as much as I love her I know I will need to prepare for the hurricane that is Ariel, even if the themes from The Little Mermaid are followed we will still be IN her head, so the mental prep is starting now, because I NEED to find out how Eric breaks down her walls in a big, big way! |
This is the story of a woman spreading her wings, building her confidence and chasing the HEA she deserves. Book two in this Naughty Princess Club features Belle, and of course her beast. I loved how the author developed this retelling. Belle, like her Disney character, has a passion for books, and her goal with the business venture is to raise funds to help her library keep afloat. As for Beast, he isn't actually a beast, duh, this author hasn't ventured to shifter books just yet, lol. Instead, Beast is just the nickname for Vincent Adams due to his *ahem* overall size. Like her two BFFs, Belle is hurting financially. Things don't get better for her when her dad kicks her out of the house, due to outrage with her new job (even though she isn't actually stripper . . .yet). With Cindy and Ariel having their own issues, Belle decides her only option is to sleep at the library which she runs. And that's where Beast reenters. We first met Beast in book one, as the bouncer at Charming's Gentlemen's Club. He and Belle didn't quite see eye to eye in that book and things don't improve in this installment, at least for a while. But despite their differences, Belle accepts his "demand" to stay at his place (not a castle) until she can afford her own. Belle was an amusing character. - Awkward to the extreme, particularly with her penchant for repeating useless facts when nervous. "You're so weird." - Unlucky in love, suffering a series of really bad dates that Cindy and Ariel set her up on. - Innocent on nearly every level of intimacy - although not a virgin, as she makes clear often. - Outspoken at times with Beast, which is even funnier given all of the above. As for Beast/Vincent, it was easy to see he had a soft/protective side, despite his aloof demeanor at times. "I'm nobody's hero, princess. And this isn't a fairy tale." What I didn't get was why he kept the secrets that he did? The first secret really made no sense to me, especially with how sweet it was. As for the second secret, Belle went a bit overboard on her reaction to it, when it really wasn't that big a deal in the grand scheme of things. And ultimately, it had a nice outcome for both. This was a fun and sweet installment to the series. I'm looking forward to reading Ariel's story next, as I'm sure there is more to her than the outspoken and crass persona we know so far. |
Tara Sivec's latest addition to her The Naughty Princess Club series did not disappoint!!!. In Bed With The Beast surpassed any and all expectations I had in the best possible way. Belle is the sweet young un of the group. Still living with her dad and playing by all the rules she's innocent by nature but don't let that fool you. This little kitty has sharp claws and while she's hesitant to use them she will do just about anything to save the one place that's always felt like home to her. I loved her character!. She has a very calm, caring nature but she also has grit and determination with a fiesty side that makes her such a well rounded character. Beast is legit the perfect book boyfriend! All kinds of brooding and standoffish yet so freaking sweet he'll give you a toothache. He's a total cave man to Belle but he sets my ovaries alight man. No spoilers from me but I just didn't expect his story to be what it was. That being said it fit him perfectly. I just really enjoyed him as a character, at first glance he seems pretty one dimensional but as you dig deeper you get to see the different sides to him and lord are they are so good. I lurved this book!!!. Following on from Cindy and Pj'S story I didn't think it could get better but it did!. This story has so much more than just humour which I might add it has a tonne of!. It's about independence and self discovery. It's a young women finding and learning to love herself. It's forgiveness and healing, Love and so much sweet!. There is also a good dose of hot lovings and a boatload of crazy hilarious shenanigans. Honestly it's the perfect combination wrapped up in a cutesy minimum angst sweet rom com. Special mention for Belle's random fact sprouting!! She had me chocking on my laughter a time or two from that. This is a must have feel good book! It leaves you wanting more because it was that fabulous. I can't wait for Ariel's book! I of course am pretty positive on who will win her heart but I can't wait to hear her story. I kindly received this ARC from the publisher via netgalley in exchange for an honest review. |
Tara Sivec always writes a great book and this is no exception. It’s a fun, lighthearted, riff on Beauty and the Beast. Great characters that you can’t help rooting for. And because it’s a take on a fairytale, it’s no surprise there is an HEA. |
I was hoping this would be a new series that I would fall in love with, but sadly it was not. I found the story to be trashy, and the writing was cheesy. I didn't enjoy any of the characters. This unfortunately was a miss for me. |
A naughty, goofy, funny, and so sweet fairy tale. Except instead of a princess and a prince, this one is about a clueless, practically virginal librarian preparing to be a stripper and a growly besotted strip club bouncer with a secret locked room. This is the second installment of The Naughty Princess Club, but Isabelle, Cindy, and Ariel's crazy doings make me I wish Tara Sivec would write more hot fairy tale romances for other princesses. Isabelle was a hoot. I loved that everyone was scared of Vincent except Isabelle. And Isabelle proved she was no shy mouse over and over. And yeah, it kind of sucks that I have to go out with douchebags the likes of Gus Tone to do this, but I don't care! I want the fairy tale. I DESERVE THE FAIRY TALE!" Speaking of everyone's fear of the Beast, the hilarious chapter where Isabelle forces P.J., the hero from At the Stroke of Midnight and Vincent's boss, to sit for a lap dance alone is worth the price of the book. As for Vincent, he's so gone for Isabelle and it was pure fairytale magic, even before his Grand Gesture at the end. "I'm not lying. You were being you, which is exactly what I told you to do. When you lost in the moment and not stuck in your own head, you're the sexiest woman I've ever met." Remember the end of last year's live action Beauty and the Beast when Dan Stevens growls for Emma Watson's Belle? That's nothing against Vincent's full-on raging Beast mode. This guy may be pissed at the world but he's sweetest marshmallow for Isabelle. "You, of all people, deserve a happy ending and the big, romantic gesture," he says. And Vincent gives Isabelle all that, plus a hidden library, a new library, a befuddled dad, zany Canadian parents in Paris, and a host of their wacky friends. Good times. 4.5 stars Note: I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC generously provided by NetGalley. |

This is the first book I have read by this author and I loved it. I wasn't sure at the start of the book, it seemed kind of childish but the further I got into it the better it got. I loved how emotional and real the character seemed. Belle and Beast were awesome together and I've Loved how they grew as the story went on. I highly recommend this book and look forward to more from this author. |
This was a very modern and naughty version of a very well known classic. A group of 3 friends (Cindy, Isabelle, and Ariel) start the Naughty Princess Club to help raise money to keep the local library open. Isabelle “Belle” runs the library which is not doing well. The girls begin “dancing/stripping” at private parties to raise money. After Belle has a fight with her dad, she moves out of the house with nowhere to go. She begins sleeping at the library. All of a sudden Beast starts coming into the library right before closing to watch out for Belle. Finally, Beast convinces Belle to come home with him for a place to stay. She asks Beast to teach her how to be sexy and flirty. Beast secretly has a thing for Belle but does not want to act on it because he is keeping a big secret. Of course Belle and Beast have their HEA after the secret is revealed and Beast does some groveling. This story had some really funny parts. I loved Beast, he so alpha and fell so hard for Belle. Belle’s ability to spout random facts at the weirdest of times, especially when she is nervous is pretty funny too. The beginning was slow, I kept wondering when the male character was going to come in. For me this book had its moments. I had a difficult time reading this book only because this genre/style of writing was not really my cup of tea. If you enjoyed this first book you will enjoy this one too. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. |

"In Bed with the Beast" by Tara Sivec A laugh out loud contemporary romance with a touch of spice. I was gifted an ARC of this story via NetGalley and I have thoroughly enjoyed this read. It is an easy read, well it doesn't take too long to read when you just cannot make yourself put the book down to do those minor things like meals, or sleep. Happy Reading this LOL offering !! |

Tara Sivec has really outdone herself with this series. So fun to read! It was cute, heartwarming, sexy, and hilarious! I cannot wait for the rest of the series! |
In Bed with the Beast is the 2nd book in The Naughty Princess Club. This series is a retelling of popular Disney fairy tales. As you could guess, this book is the story of Beauty and the Beast. Belle has been sheltered her whole life by her father who keeps his daughter under his thumb. When her library is losing funding more everyday, she begins to consider more creative ways to earn the money to keep it open. So she and her motley crew of of friends prepare for her to take the pole. The stripper pole, that is. Now that she sees the success her friend Cindy has had, she's ready to save her library. Just like with Cindy's story, this book has the classic signature Tara Sivec humor and endearing ridiculousness. Anyone who is a fan of her comedic romances will love this book and series. Even though this book has my laughing and snorting, it still has an underlying message of empowerment that I love. These women have very real and relatable problems in this series and many of the readers my have encountered in their lives. When the women form The Naughty Princess Club, they are taking control of their lives with a profession that has a lot of stigma attached to it. They aren't waiting for their prince like most fairy tales, and they aren't just falling victim to their circumstances. They are creative in creating a solution to their problems, and I think that it would be easy to bury this under the humor and plot, but very well done. |
5 - "You're so weird..." Stars! The second book in Tara Sivec’s Naughty Princess Club series, gives us her take on my favorite fairy-tales of all, and In Bed with the Beast was a joy to read, from start to finish. GIF. I hold up my hand in shame and say it’s been a long while since I have read anything from this author, and after reading the opening chapter of this one I was literally kicking myself for leaving it so long. Needless to say I absolutely adored Belle and Vincent’s Story. I want the fairy tale… I can’t exactly figure out how to get it. Belle has a lot to contend with at this point in her life, her beloved Library is under threat of closure, her love-life is deader than most of the authors of the books in said library, and she is still living in the basement of her father’s house. Being in your twenties and having to sneak in through the window after a night out is so not the worldly woman image she wishes she could project. Especially when upon getting caught by her father she’s given an ultimatum, one that ends up with her homeless and sleeping on the floor in the aforementioned library. "I’m not a fairy tale kind of guy… but I’d like the chance to see where this thing between us can go…" Enter Beast (aka Vincent), bouncer at Gentleman’s Club Charmings owned by PJ, love interest of one of her best friends; Cindy. Having clocked that she’s living illicitly in the library after hours it doesn’t take him long in getting her under his roof and sleeping in his spare room. Good grief, even in my head I can’t be sexy and flirty… But nerd-girl Belle is still determined to resuscitate her love life, and asks him to help her become sexy and flirty for the men she’s planning to meet from the online dating site she’s registered with. Add to that she’s trying to get her sexy on in order to help her friends get their new Princess Stripping business off the ground and this girl that is firmly stepping way, way out of her comfort zone in all areas of her life. "If you’re not careful… I might think you’re a knight in shining armor." Hands-down Vincent is probably one of the best Heroes I have read this year. Gruff, growly, strong, silent, and absolutely adorable, you learn that there is more to this guy as the book progresses, more as a result of the inept attempts of her friends Cindy and Ariel to get her out into the dating scene, and to find out more about him on the sly than anything. "You talk a lot." I loved how he went out of his way to make sure Belle was safe, even if she didn’t know he was involved at the time, and the often comedic results of it. Her over reaction to his responses in regards to the walking disasters she goes on dates with versus his cool, calm, stoicism were just a perfect balance. And the fact he wasn’t trying to be funny made him even more adorable. "This was never a game for me." As I said I loved this book, I am going to read its predecessor ASAP, and I am looking forward to getting my hands on Ariels book; Kiss the Girl when it releases in September. |
In Bed with the Beast is a hilarious spin-off of the classic fairytale Beauty and the Beast. This book kept me entertained to the end! Belle is part of the Naughty Princess Club (a strip club), which she and her girlfriends Ariel and Cindy started up. Belle is using the club to save her beloved library. When Belle’s father finds out what she is doing to earn more cash, he kicks her out of the house. With nowhere to go, she ends up living at her library until Vincent “Beast” Adams offers her a place to stay at his house. Vincent is the bouncer to the club Charmings and he is intrigued by the bookish nerd Belle. Their banter is fun to read, and I love that Belle spews random facts whenever she gets nervous. Vincent is a mysterious, brooding character, with a soft heart and he has secrets-for example, what is behind the locked door in the house? Read to find out! In Bed with the Beast is a great mix of humor and romance. I’m excited for the next book in the series, which is from Ariel’s point of view. ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review- thank you so much! |
The Naughty Princess club series continues. This time with the story of Belle and Beast, the bouncer at PJ's club Charming's. While these books would not be ones I might usually pick up, I was pleasantly surprised to find female heroines that were smart, well-rounded, and interesting to read about. The author also delivers a lot of humor and heart in a storyline that most might not expect to find it. Fans of the story Beauty and the Beast will find lots of references here, and it is fun to see how the original story is reinterpreted. Belle is my favorite character in the series so far and she and 'the Beast' are fun together! |
In Bed with the Beast by Tara Sivec is book Two in The Naughty Princess Club. I was very excited to read this book after reading At the Stroke of Midnight. I'm a sucker for a retold/respun fairytale, especially a Beauty and the Beast fairytale. I'm gald to say this one doesn't disappoint. The best thing about the book is the laugh-out-loud humor and the amazing banter and chemistry between H/h. I also really loved Belle, she is smart and interesting and the little spouts of trivia is hilarious. Beast is sexy and sweet what more could you want. I found that I enjoyed this story more than the first one there just seemed to be more laughs, more character development, more everything. Especially the character development of Belle was amazingly done and a pleasure to read. She was adorable and weird and I loved her. The author never disappointed me with her witty humor and the ridiculous situations she has written for her characters. I could always count on her to make me laugh out loud. This was a cute, sexy, and best of all, very funny read. Recommended. |
If you are a Tara Sivec fan, you will see that this book is a combination of of Wish You Were Mine meets The Chocolate Lovers series between the sexual angst and the humor. Belle is hands down my favorite character. We get to see a whole new side of her in this book than we did in the previous book. It was such a fun ride watching her get her "dea legs". Vincent. Swoon. Just a little. Okay, maybe a lot. His take charge, no nonsense, yet teddy bear personality is just what Belle needs to really find herself. This one is part swoon-worthy, part hilarious, and part sexual frustration on a stick. I didn't know whether to laugh, sigh, or yell from start to finish. I couldn't get enough of this book. If you are looking for your next laugh out loud love story, look no further. I am not even sure why you are reading my words instead of Tara's words. |
