I give this book 5 stars. The storyline between Shep and Emma was well written. They met when she started working at Spurs, a bar in a little town. Emma and Shep were both trying to over come there grief. They both lost a family member. I whole heartedly recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I really enjoyed this book. The tension between the characters was excellent. The comedy relief with the brothers was well written and I liked the bar, farms and New York as backdrop. The story was interesting from start to finish.

Sexy and sweet Romance. Gotta love a story that has a dirty talking cowboy who knows how to rope his women in and seduce them thoroughly. Can’t wait for the next one in this series to come out.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

Spectacular start to a sexy smart new series!
Stacey Kennedy has shown me time and time again what a wonderfully talented author she is. Her plots are well thought out and move seamlessly, her characters are strong confident men and woman whose realistic dialogue and sexual chemistry burns up the page. "Dirty Talking Cowboy" the first in the Kinky Spurs series is all this and more. Emma is a woman we'd all like to be cause frankly she has Shep. He is seriously one of the best heroes I've come across in a long long time. Sexy, smart, loyal, tender, all that and more. Seriously you need Shep in your life, even if it's just for the time it takes to see him and Emma fall in love.
I can hardly wait to read the next book in the series "Sweet-Talking" to see if brother Chase takes after his big brother.
I received an advance reader copy from Netgalley.

I stopped reading at around 15% because of some issues with the writing style. Based on that 15%, it seems to be a cowboy erotic romance with insta-lust. I would have been on board with that premise, if not for sentence structure and odd exposition-as-dialogue choices. If I have to read a sentence three times to figure out what the author is telling me, I'm going to be pulled out of the story... and not in a good way.
The author also did something that I loathe, but that I know isn't a turn-off for a lot of people: an "it-was-all-just-a-dream" sequence. The second scene in the book is a big sex scene with a) no leadup and b) no contraception... but then the heroine wakes up to find that she'd been being dragged around by a horse. I gave it another 20 pages after that, just to confirm that the hero was an okay guy, but I couldn't get past the awkward writing. Could be a totally different experience for another reader.

Emma Monroe has returned to River Rock, Colorado, after the death of her grandmother. Now she’s inherited a farm full of abused animals and she’s working as a waitress at the local hotspot, Kinky Spurs. The last thing Emma wants in her life is a man, as she’s still recovering from a recent heartbreak. But when a sensual and powerful cowboy, Shep Blackshaw enters her life, Emma begins to want things she shouldn't.When I started reading I couldn't put it down I read the book in one day.Stacey Kennedy is magnifysent writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. it

Dirty talking cowboy is the first in a new series series, Kinky Spurs by Stacey Kennedy. Everyone that knows me knows that I have a thing for cowboys. Stacey Kennedy is a new to me author so when I saw that her new series featured one very hot cowboy, I decided this was the perfect time to get to know this author and my oh my am I glad I did.

I'm such a sucker for cowboy stories. I enjoyed this a lot. She created likable characters, interesting back stories, and the plot kept me interested. The writing had a level of maturity that I appreciated, too. There were no "bad" characters, just bad decisions. And, wow. These sex scenes would have made Anais Nin blush.

Very smexy read that goes from cold to hawt in the blink of an eye! DTC is all about Emma Monroe and Shep Blackshaw but there are family and town meddlers galore. Pay attention to Emma’s behavior around the animals on her grandmother’s farm as it will really give you insight into her character. Now that she is a “city” girl, she sometimes forgets how early farm life can be – as the animals sometimes remind her. Shep steps in to help her get into a groove with the farm and he starts to forget his own problems. They make a great couple, after learning to trust in themselves and each other, and did I mention the book is hawt??? Some intensity to the story as well that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Good read for an afternoon. I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Dirty Talking Cowboy by Stacey Kennedy is book 1 in her Kinky Spurs series. This book is the story of Emma and Shep who have off the charts hot chemistry. This book makes good on the title of a Dirty Talking Cowboy. It is a really enjoyable sexy read. I highly recommend this book.

Emma has returned to the ranch her grandmother left her when she died. It's a ranch for abused animals. Emma is also working at a bar part time to make money. Shep lives in the next ranch over from Emma and, they are both strongly attracted to each other. When Emma attempts to ride an abused horse, she is thrown and dragged until Shep sees her and manages to get to her and get her to the hospital. Shep decides that Emma is the one for him and starts attempting anything that will get Emma to see him for who he is and what he wants. Emma, on the other hand, has just gotten out of a relationship that left her self esteem level at zero.
The love story between these two is profound and, one that every woman would love! It's an uphill battle for both but, one that is well worth the wait!

I received an arc from Netgalley. The story of Shep and Emma is one of finding the way back to trusting again. Emma who flees to her Grandmas farm after a breakup works with an abused and skittish horse. Meeting Shep helps Emma heal and learn to trust again. Beautiful story.
Looking forward to Chase and Harpers story.

Dirty-Talking Cowboy is first book in the new series Kinky Spurs by Stacey Kennedy.
You will not be disappointed! Seriously hot cowboy: Check, Kinky: Check.
Emma Monroe comes back to River Rock to take over her grams farm and try to get her shattered heart mended. She's looking to take care of the abused animals and figure out her next steps. Definitely not looking for the sexy as sin cowboy who makes her weak in the knees and tingly in her girly parts. But he's too hot to ignore when he comes into the bar, Kinky Spurs, where she's working.
Shep Blackshaw is finally seeing his business take off and is looking to continue to grow. With the unexpected death of his father the entire family is left to deal with difficult decisions. Now is not the best time to focus on the sexy bartender, yet the pull is undeniable. When a freak accident throws them together Shep will take any in to get closer to Emma and find a way to make her soar.

4 1/2 Star Review.....
A new erotic romance series, with Cowboys, and written by Stacey Kennedy……Hell yeah, all my prayers have just been answered! And yes, if you know Ms Kennedy's work, this is one seriously HOT book! When I saw this latest title on NetGalley and the title and author, I was so on board. Cowboys have recently become one of my favourite genres; tall, broad, brooding, loyal, and sexy as all get out, there’s simply nothing not to love.
So what do you get? Well Ms Kennedy’s brand new series introduces readers to the three Blackshaw brothers; Shep, Chase and Nash, after the loss of their father. All are sexy as hell, with very different personalities and each have their own unique background story; but this book belongs to Shep (the eldest son). Shep is every romantic’s dream; a man totally focused on his woman, loyal and devoted to a fault, and determined to convince one wary female that second chances are worth taking a risk on.
This book has a great plot, well-developed characters, emotional baggage, family drama, and two people from polar opposite backgrounds, who must learn to trust again to bury their demons, before they can move forward with life. There's conflict, angst, mixed feelings and heartache, but when the dust settles, true love just might prevail.
I absolutely loved this story and can’t wait for the coming stories about Chase and Nash. Thank you NetGalley for approving my request to read this advanced copy.

Woooo Hoooo Dirty-Talking Cowboy by Stacey Kennedy, definitely lives up to its name and we get one hot, dirty-Talking cowboy!!
We will say that the first part of this book was a bit bumpy... it seemed like it went back and forth, had some errors, and just didn't flow as well as the rest of the book. But once we got into the story and got past some of the other issues, we really enjoyed the story!

If the title of this book worries you be advised that the language used is not so bad. I wouldn’t read it out loud in church, but overall it is what you would expect in an explicit romance.
This is a well-written, somewhat predictable romance, but nevertheless quite enjoyable. Emma has come to Colorado to her late grandmother’s home after a traumatic break-up. Shep, a local businessman, has his eye on her. Their evolving relationship forms the backbone of this book. I hate spoilers, so that is all I am going to say.
I really hate to be critical, and I did like this book, but I have to be honest and say that it felt a little thin to me. It was not the length of the book, but somehow, maybe because it was a bit formulaic, things were not as fleshed out as I would normally expect from this author. It doesn’t make it bad, just not as good as other books Kennedy has written.
If you want a quick, enjoyable read, this is an excellent way to pass a few hours. Don’t expect too much, and you won’t be disappointed.

This book was so much fun! I love a good cowboy romance and Dirty-Talking Cowboy did not disappoint! I loved all of the characters, and am already looking forward to readomg more of this series (although this is the only book in the Kinky Spurs series that has been released so far!) It will be fun to read the love stories of Shep's brothers. I have a feeling their love stories will be just as good as Shep & Emma's!
Thank you so much to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for the advanced copy!

A dirty-talking cowboy? It would be rude not to.
“Come to Kinky Spurs, where cowboys wrangle women’s hearts . . . and rope their bodies!”
Smokin’ hot with fabulous characters and indeed a dirty-talking and very delicious cowboy, this was a great introduction to Stacey Kennedy’s writing. Granted the opening couple of chapters could have flowed better and it had a bit of an insta-feel, but that mattered not because Shep and Emma were perfect together.
“If you want me, Emma, come and have me. It’s that simple.”
Shep Blackshaw is the full package. The perfect balance of alpha and dominant and gentle and considerate, and with a canny knack of being able to read both people and animals, he was so easy to fall in love with. And mesmerised by Emma Monroe working the crowded bar at Kinky Spurs, it’s not long before he has her tied up in knots. Literally.
“I want to remember what it’s like to be a woman. I want to feel alive again. I want to take my power back.”
Emma is certainly no wallflower, but she does have a slight and very understandable fragility to her after a bad break-up. I loved her tenacity and sweeter nature, and Shep is the perfect person to help her find herself again.
“No one was perfect, but sometimes two people fit together in the most perfect way.”
A strong, sexy and promising start to the series and having being introduced to Shep’s younger brothers, Chase and Nash, I‘m excited to see what their stories will bring. And based on the fact that it’s two of my favourite tropes—his best friend’s sister and enemies-to-lovers—they can’t come soon enough.
4.25 stars.

Dirty-Talking Cowboy is the perfect title for this book. This is my first book I read from Stacey and it will not be the last. Shep will become everyone favorite sexy AF, dirty talking cowboy. The connection that Shep and Emma have is undeniable and you can feel it as you are reading. As I’m reading I can’t help having a smile on my face and of course fanning myself because the sex between Shep & Emma is off the charts HOT. I can’t wait for Sweet-Talking Cowboy to be released because I can’t get enough of the Blackshaw’s.

So before I get into my review I wanted to let you all know where my brain is at.
I discovered this author this year due to being blessed with an arc for [bookcover:Bought by the Boss|35185556] which released in Feb of this year (2018) and I thought well this is an author I would read again.. and then like most reviewers do we forget! and then I was offered an ARC of this book... what are the odds?!! so I was like yes lets read this immediately... lets move to the review now !

This story is about Shep and Emma. Our two main characters are actually set up a bit differently than most books!!! aren't you totally intrigued. So both of our characters have moved "temporarily" to River Rock, Colorado to take care of family matters. Both of our characters have the mindset that they will put their ducks in a row and move back to where they came from. and both of our characters came to the city due to the loss of a loved one
Starting the book I was a bit interested in Emma's backstory.. because dang I wanted to punch her past in the face ( yeah I am not going to ruin it for you) ... and I liked Emma in her little bar outfit and inability to know how attractive she is..
now Shep... I will drool over him until the cows come home. He is the epitome of cowboy and alpha male. Overprotective ... and overly perfect!!!
delicious

..I think what hurts me with this book is the sex scene/dirty talk to me doesn't fit the characters. I am about some kink but I couldn't relate it to Shep.
<b> I learned a long time ago that's what gets me off. Kinky play is my type of foreplay. I like to push the boundaries of sex to intensify the high until we explode together </b>
<b> When we come ,it's together. always </b>
hot sounding right... so why didn't it work??!!!
this really didn't work much for me.. its on the short end (less than 300) .. and I found myself in seriously skim mode. <spoiler> I felt a lot of things didn't line up .. marathon sex after being dragged by a horse? animals starving for over a week due to the wrong food being put out? but no one thinks that bad? the BDSM part didn't work and it didn't make any sense. the book doesn't have romance to me .. but a ton of INSTA. I believe its after meeting twice the characters fall in love </spoiler>
