Hot cowboy, beautiful bartender. Emma is living in her late grandmother's house in Colorado after a disastrous affair with her boss in NY that wrecks her reputation as an executive. She is working at a bar called Kinky Spurs where she meets Shep, one of the Blackshaw brothers. He is a yummy cowboy that makes Emma melt with a touch. After a riding accident, Shep stays with Emma until she recovers. The attraction grows too strong to resist. What happens when the old boyfriend from NY comes with the offer of an engagement ring? Which one will Emma choose? Hold onto your hearts, girls or they will be taken. The Blackshaw brothers are in town with each one hotter than the next. Loved this book and can't wait for the next one. I received this book from Net Galley.. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy . All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What's hotter than a Dirty-Talking Cowboy?
A Dirty-Talking Cowboy who can back up that mouth! Shep is HOT! His commanding presence, his well worn jeans, and his gorgeous eyes all say stop and notice me. It's the whole package that has women panting for scraps and don't even get me started on his...package.
He's been burned. She's still feeling the aftermath of her burns. Both have been hurt and neither is looking for anything. It doesn't seem to matter what they want because this thing...pulses between them. It's like a cord that connects them. It's tension, lust, and energy that they can't fight.
This Dirty-Talking Cowboy is everything you want in a man. And if by some miracle tall, pensive, and passionate isn't your thing- he has two brothers that might just be your kind of cowboy!
Kinky Spurs sounds like my kind of place. I'm just waiting to find out from the author if they are hiring before I move. (Verifying before I decide what to do with the hubs!😉)

Stacey Kennedy hits all the highlights: cowboys, check, scorching hot sex, check, sensitive man asking for consent, check. Its enough to make a historical romance reader go contemporary! This was a super fun read.

If you enjoy alpha males with a hero complex from small towns, you’ll love this book! My biggest complaint about this book is that the stories for the rest of the Blackshaw boys are not yet available. *Sigh* I’ll just have to wait.
Although I’m not crazy about the name Shep, he really is a swoony cowboy who Emma can’t resist. I’m not entirely sure many women would be able to resist him, though. Shep draws women in and has them melting for him before they even know what’s going on. His determination to help everyone around him is sweet and alluring. Emma is smart and independent and her backstory makes the plot interesting. And don’t even get me started on his brothers. They make the book that much more fun.

Well, Stacey definitely got the name of the book spot-on!!! Shep is one Alpha, sweet-loving, dirty-talking cowboy with a heart of pure gold! Then there's Emma, with a heart that's broken, not willing to trust any man again. But when she lets down her guard enough to let Shep in, we get a front-row seat as the sparks start flying!
Together Shep and Emma burn up the pages of this awesome story! Seriously, they are so hot together... and the emotions that come through just melt you!
Stacey can write! There's such passion that shows through her words, her characters, her storylines. You can't help but be pulled in and you go willingly - you want to know what happens, you need to understand how the story ends. If feels imperative to grasp the lives of the people involved between the pages of a Stacey Kennedy book!

4.25⭐
Dirty-Talking Cowboy was a seriously good read. That pulled me in from the start, thanks to a well paced and engaging storyline. Not to mention a dirty talking, sexy, rope throwing, kinky sex loving cowboy called Shep. And I really loved his pursuit of Emma and the relationship that developed between them. Which was packed full of chemistry and a connection no one could deny.
Plus, there were plenty of great secondary characters in this story. Including Shep's two brothers Nash and Chase and Emma's friend Harper. As well as owner of the Kinky Spurs Megan and I am excited to read more about them all in the future.
And as starts to series go, this was a great one, and I would happily recommend it to others.

This is book 1 in the Kinky Spurs series. It's about Emma Monroe and Shep Blackshaw. Emma has moved to Colorado after her grandmother died and she inherited her farm. She also felt the need to stay there after her heart was broken by things that happened right before she was to leave to go handle her grandmother's estate. Now working at Kinky Spurs part time she meet's Shep. Shep is trying to get over the death of his father and handle all the things that are left to be handled for the estate and his family. He really doesn't have the time or the inclination for a relationship right now. But he never plans on being so attracted to Emma. And Emma certainly doesn't feel like she needs or wants to deal with a man right now, but with the way Shep makes her feel she isn't sure she should just walk away from that.
This was a new to me author and she definitely didn't disappoint in any way with this story! I loved how Shep and Emma had chemistry right from the start and even though they both didn't feel like they were in a place for any sort of a relationship-they still decide there is something there they can't and shouldn't walk away from. Emma is not only sweet but she is strong, smart, and loving. Shep is just wow. He is the epitome of a stand up guy! He shows Emma that not all men are horrible and when you meet the right one he will not only stand beside you but he will be whatever you need when you need it. I loved the both separately and together! They were perfect! This was the perfect way to start of this series and this author has made a fan of me with this one! Can't wait to read the next one!

Emma's reputation has been tarnished with her job as an Executive Creative Director in New York City when a co-worker witness her kissing the CEO. A man who she has been secretly dating for a year. A man who didn't stick up for her when rumors abound.
On top of her career crashing around her, her Grams passes away and leaves the farm in Colorado to her. Emma's not quite ready to go back and face the music with her job, she stays at the farm temporarily until she decides what to do next and taking on a part time bar-tending job at the Kinky Spurs bar.
This is where Emma meets Shep. Shep is pure intense Alpha who captures her attention from the moment he walks into the bar. Still fresh with hurt from the last guy, she's determined to ignore the intense attraction between these two. Despite issues of his own, Shep won't let her ignore him.
I was so excited to see that Stacey Kennedy has a new series coming out. I have pretty much loved everything of hers I've read. Dirty-Talking Cowboy is one of those books that was good but for me I had a hard time with Emma's character and I think that squelched some of my enjoyment from the story. I loved everything else about this book. It's great writing, great side characters and I loved Shep's intensity.
There was absolutely no pushing away from Shep and he was so patient with Emma. He really made for a great Hero. I think the brothers stories are going to have a bit more angst due to who I think they will paired with.
ARC provided by NetGalley.

I actually enjoyed this one quite a bit, and it probably would have been a 4-Star read, but I got tired of how hung up this heroine was on her ex. Jake this, and Jake that...Jake, Jake, Jake ad nauseam. Now being she had JUST broken up with him a month earlier, it was probably a realistic reaction, but for ME it just brought my enjoyment of the story down a bit. Other than that, this was a very enjoyable book. I loved the hero. It had some interesting side characters. Although I am not sure, I will sign up for the brother's books, especially Nash's since it was obvious he and Megan had a "thing" but he had sex with at least one other women in this book. And I hate the whole "bro code" trope which is what Chase and Harper's book looks to be shaping up as. There was no OW or OM drama. Neither were virgins. Shep seemed to be a bit of a manwhore, or at the very least, he had a reputation that is thrown in the heroines face a smidge. The sex scenes were hot and relatively plentiful, and last, it was all wrapped up in a sweet ending.

This is my first book by this author and it was pretty good. Low drama, good plot. Shep is a great guy and I liked Emma too. They both had some crazy sexual chemistry going on. Those two had a lot of smoking hot sexy times. Like, a lot. There’s two other brothers and I bet their books will be just as good too.

Super sexy!!!! This was a great read, completely swept me up into every page. I love the super hot chemistry and the amazing heart of the H. I'm hooked, I look forward to for on this series!

Emma's grandmother dies and leaves her a farm for abused animals. This happens just about the same time Emma's secret affair with her boss gets out, so she decides to go the farm and try and forget everything. To keep herself occupied is takes a part-time job at the local bar. Shep is too busy getting his new company off the ground to have any kind of a relationship, but when he sees the new waitress at Kinky Spurs (Emma), he may have to re-think that. The chemistry between them is off the charts, but neither one of them is looking for anything but a quick fling ... that is until their hearts get involved.
Shep sure is a dirty-talking cowboy ... WOW! I could just feel the pages burning with the heat Emma & Shep had between them. I couldn't help but like these characters and was rooting for them to accept that they could be each other's happily-ever-after. I can't wait for Shep's brothers books. A great start to a new series!

4.25 Stars for this Dirty Talking Cowboy. Shep Blackshaw is pretty alpha awesome! I kinda loved him as much as Emma did! I mean this story had me at the title, because I mean hello! dirty talkers are my jam. Put together a hot cowboy, with a good heart that is kind to animals and cooks too?! Yeah Shep is kinda all that! The only thing I didn’t like about this story was the reference to a “country music band”, because seriously you’re in a cowboy bar in the outskirts of Colorado what other kind of band would be playing? Sorry it just read wrong. Other than that piddly thing, I can’t wait to read more about the Blackshaw brothers, Chase and Nash!!

I have to say this is one of the best books I have read in ages I really loved the characters and their story was fantastic can’t wait to read the next book in this series

After Emma's nightmare comes true she goes to live at her grandmother's house to try to sort out what her next move should be. In walks the sexy as sin cowboy-Shep- and the attraction they both have is HOT!!! Shep & Emma dance around each other until they no longer can fight the pull and end up combusting.
Emma suffers an accident and Shep's with her throughout the whole ordeal and I've got to say that she had me laughing because she says her secrets and thoughts out loud and Shep finds out some juicy things. These two were perfect for each other and I couldn't get enough of them.
A sweet read with the right amount of sexiness and sass! Kara~4 Stars

This book packs a solid romance, with a few interesting surprises thrown in. After the death of her grandmother, Emma Monroe, just out of a bad relationship, returned to River Rock, Colorado, to try to salvage her grandmother’s farm, full of abused animals. To help her while figuring out what exactly to do, Emma got a job at the local watering hole hot spot, Kinky Spurs. Into Kinky Spurs came Shep Blackshaw, who’s has been trying to save his recently deceased father’s cattle ranch from foreclosure. Both realized the time is not perfect, but, for Shep, Emma has become the perfect thing to distract Shep’s mind from all the stuff going on around him. Likewise, Shep has managed to captivate Emma, who has begun to forget all the negative things she left behind and escaped. Still, the past cannot be totally erased, and Emma’s comes back to haunt her in a big way, forcing her to choose whether she wants the new life presented or whether she should return to her old life. Can Shep help Emma figure things out while realizing the dream he has recently found, keeping Emma in River Rock and capturing her heart?
This is a good summer read—in fact, a good beach read. There is definite chemistry between Emma and Shep, but there is also a story behind things as presented. I enjoyed watching the interaction between the pair. Both characters were likable, well-done and real for me. The setting was ideal for this type of story. It became an erotic tale combined magnificently with a good, old-fashioned romance. I think romance lovers will find this one interesting to read. I received this from NetGalley to read and review.

A hot sexy romance between Emma and Shep. When Emma comes to Colorado to escape heartache in New York, she works part time at a local bar, and keeps seeing sexy Shep. Needless to say sparks fly and so it begins. A few issues on both sides, working through them, and meeting together for a HEA is part of the fun. A quick easy read, especially for summer. Would recommend.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by Netgalley)...
I love love Shep!!! He’s totally book husband material. I even loved Emma, usually I have a hard time when the heroine goes and back forth with her feelings, but with Emma, you could actually feel her confusion over her past with Jake and her present with Shep.
I loved how all the people just wanted to help Emma without truly knowing her. After her accident, Shep didn’t hesitate to help her recover and teach her about handling abused animals. Emma and Shep both have major choices to make about what they want in life and what kind of life they want. They are both mourning loved ones and trying to understand their new lives. The steam and connection between them was instant and majorly hot.
I want to see more of the Blackthorn brothers because man-oh-man they are very interesting. Chase has feelings for Harper, who is his best friend’s little sister then we have Nash and Megan who seem to have an frenemies relationship going on.

I loved this new series by Stacey Kennedy!! Dirty Talking Cowboy is very sexy. It has great characters, a fascinating story, and a happily ever after. I can’t wait to read Chase’s book!!

Emma is lost. She recently lost her job and her "boyfriend" and is licking her wounds at the ranch she just inherited from her grandmother. She's working at a bar while she figures out what to do next. Enter Shep. He's tall, dark, and handsome and a cowboy and Emma takes notice. He notices her, too. They know that they can't have anything long-term as she's big city and he's definitely a "wide open spaces" kind of guy, but sometimes, things don't go as planned.
Emma is vulnerable and trying to work through a breakup and Shep sees all the special qualities in her that she doesn't seem to see in herself. They bring out the best in each other. Yes, there's plenty of sex, but there's also an emotional connection that Emma feels with Shep.
I liked this story and can't wait to read Chase and Nash's stories.
