Wow! I really enjoyed this book!!! Yes please!!!! Now this story I can get behind. It is a short story with a future series in the making. Emma was a strong female character she was hurt and was on the defensive. Shep was a strong alpha male cowboy!! That's all that needs to be said about that (DROP THE MIC)!! I read this pretty fast. It was hot and steamy this author has set up the by lines for the next books. I will be reading those as well. Worth the read!!!

I received this ARC from the publisher via Net Galley at my request. Thanks NET Galley!!!

Really enjoyed this book, it was a fun and at times emotional read. I thought Shep was exactly who Emma needed, they were a great couple! Looking forward to Shep's brothers getting book's of their own!

I think I’m not the intended audience for this book. Even though I have specifically requested for this book, I did not particularly enjoy it. I was not a huge fan of the heroine. Not because she was a bad person but I just couldn’t connect.

Also I didn’t enjoy the angst created by the ex. This book had enough issues to create angst without the added drama. It also reduced the heroine’s charm for me. If the heroine could consider going back to her ex, then her love for hero loses its credibility. Realistic, yes. Romantic, hardly.

I also hated how the hero involved himself with dealing with the ex. That was stepping over the line. He really overstepped his boundaries there. She was not his property, she is a grown adult, and she can and should deal with her own problems, including her ex. Too bad if the results don’t live up to the hero’s standards.

As I said, I’m not the intended audience. This was a well written book.
If you don’t mind bossy heroes and a little bit of ex drama, give this book a go.

This is my first time reviewing a Stacey Kennedy book, Dirty Talking Cowboy. I loved it!! Set in Colorado, Shep Blackwell meets Emma at The Kinky Spurs Bar. The Kinky Spurs is known for a sexy roping game among is customers. Emma gets paired up with Shep and lets just say Emma becomes a puddle of goo in Shep’s hands. Shep is a dirty-talking, alpha, who loves control in the bedroom and definitely has a heart of gold. The control that Shep displays in the bedroom is completely sensual and consensual with Emma. The love scenes are pretty steamy. Shep and his family is facing some tough times with the sudden loss of his father. Shep along with his mother and brothers must decide how to handle his father’s failing business while still achieving their dreams. Emma comes to River Rock to escape a humiliating breakup with her boss and loss of her job all while dealing with the sudden death of her beloved Grams. Fate throws Emma and Shep together again when he finds her being dragged by an abused horse that her Grams took in before her death. Shep helps both Emma and Bentley(the abused horse) learn to trust others and find their way in life. Emma must finally make a decision as to which life she wants, her new life in River Rock, Colorado or her old life in New York City when her ex shows up on her door step unexpectedly. To find out Emma’s choice and if Shep and his brothers save his dad’s business along with their dreams read Dirty Talking Cowboy. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I cannot wait for Chase and Harper’s book to come out!!

One smoking hot cowboy and one city girl with a broken heart have instant chemistry between them and their passion steams off the pages. There’s an emphasis on family in this book. You meet the Blackshaw brothers and their mother. The brothers are a big part of the story and their own stories will finish out the series. This is a very steamy cowboy romance read. If you don’t like hot love scenes then this isn’t the book for you. Dirty Talking Cowboy has well-developed and likable characters, family drama, emotional conflict, overcoming demons, romance, and HEA. Anyone who loves a hot cowboy story then I have no doubt you will love Dirty Talking Cowboy.

Emma moves back to River Rock to recover from her broken heart and mourn the loss of her beloved grandmother. She had a relationship with her boss that ended badly for her. She no longer trusts men and definitely is not looking for love. Shep has a business that keeps him busy, along with the recent passing of his father so he is also not looking for love either. Fate had something else in store for them though. They had great chemistry from the moment they say each other.

This book had great characters in it; Shep, Nash and Chase all were good, honest men. Shep was definitely an alpha male and made no bones about it. Emma was protected by Shep almost from the beginning and failed to notice it for a while. The Blackshaw men were interesting and had a great dynamic to them.

Emma was stuck in her head quite a bit in this book. She would question everything. It was somewhat understandable after what happened with Jake, but some of it was just plain adolescent behavior. She did try to find a new path for herself but seemed to be stuck on wanting her old life back at first.

Stacey Kennedy did a good job of making me find all of the characters likable. It seemed entirely possible for Shep and Emma to make drastic life changes after a short time. This book was an enjoyable read for me and I would recommend it. If you are looking for a dirty talking cowboy, this one is for you.

I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.

4.5 stars

This was a case where I loved the book a lot better than I loved the title. You could reasonable expect someone who drops the F bomb every other, but instead, Shep Blackshaw is an upstanding guy with a strong sense of responsibility, a ton of patience and the dirty talking is designed to increase his lady's arousal. In this case, his lady is Emma Monroe, who was badly burned in her last relationship and fled a rewarding career in New York City to take over her grandmother's farm where she rescue's abused animals.

Shep and Emma are drawn to each other but she turns him down-until he begins helping her with an abused horse that has injured her. The relationship builds quickly in spite of the fact that Shep and his brothers are faced with a major dilemma involving their father's business and Emma isn't certain she wants to stay away from NYC. Then Emma's past throws a monkey wrench into the works. Can these two make a relationship work?

Both Emma and Shep are strong, compelling characters and their romance is heart-warming. Overall, this was a really good book, with some really hot sex scenes, characters that you care about, and an easy to follow plot.

WOW WOW WOW! Stacey Kennedy delivers a steamy hot romance! Emma had her heart broken and dream job taken away from her in NYC and her beloved Grandma passed away so she is staying at her house taking care of some animals. Shep is a neighbor who she meets at her part time job at the Kinky Spurs bar. I love how this book had chemistry from the get-go, hot BDSM, a dirty talking cowboy and I love the relationship with his brothers and Mom. SHe has awesome friends who you can tell will be getting their own stories!! I want more more more!

**Received ARC from NetGalley for a fair and honest review**
Dirty-Talking Cowboy is the first book in the Kinky Spurs series and is Emma Monroe and Shep Blackshaw's story. I rate this book at 4.5 stars!! This was a fantastic start to this new series. I really enjoyed the storyline, the characters, and the secondary characters and had a hard time putting this book down. This is a fast, fun, read with just the right amount of hot/steaminess.
Emma Monroe has been living her dream in New York City. She has a job she loves, is close with her family and has a great relationship, only problem he's the CEO of the company she works for and it has to remain on the down-low. When Emma comes to tell Jake about the death of her grandmother, she overhears a conversation that makes her leave New York City and head to River Rock Colorado to clear her head and figure out what to do with her grandmothers beloved rescue farm.
Shep Blackshaw is successful, runs a successful wilderness survival company and exactly where he wants to be in life, then tragedy strikes and things change for him, he just won't know how much at the time (sorry not leaving any spoilers). When Shep is at Kinky Spurs he see's Emma and he wants her, but she shoots him down. Then Shep is out riding his horse and see's her being dragged by a horse and rescues her and steps in to be her knight in shining armor.
The first book really does a job job of laying out the storyline for the series. I really enjoyed Emma and Shep together, loved their chemistry. If you like hot and steamy this book is for you. Shep is the strong, alpha male, but not overboard, but caring and Emma is emotional, feminine and somewhat strong. The secondary characters in the book were great and I can't wait for their stories. Hope this helps! Happy Reading!!!

This is my first time reading a book by this author. I had love Emma and Shep story. Emma is trying to keep up the farm that was inherited to her by her grandmother. Shep had meet Emma as she was a bartender at a bar and try to get her then but she turns him down. When Emma had an accident on the farm, Shep had taken care of her, and they had become friends and then lovers. I had like how Shep had protected Emma when she didn’t want him to. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good cowboy romance.

Kinky Spurs is the local hotspot in River Rock, Colorado. It's Thursday night and the fun game is Rope 'Em Up. The ladies volunteer to go on stage and get roped plus have their wrists tied. The first couple done wins. Newcomer Emma Monroe, working part-time as a waitress there, is talked into participating by her boss. Haha! Little does she know that it's a setup. Cowboy Shep Blackshaw is attracted to Emma, very attracted. She won't give him the time of day despite her attraction to him. She is recovering from a broken heart. Shep is matched with Emma and ropes his little filly in for a win. Those ropes make shivers run down Emma's spine and she just melts.

Shep Blackshaw is not only dominant and very sexy, but also very loving and caring. He is a fixer. He also doesn't accept defeat - what he wants he gets. And he wants Emma! Emma Monroe is a strong, sexy woman, just a little broken right after her recent heart break. She leaves all that behind in New York City to take over her deceased grandmother's farm for abused animals. Watch out for Bentley.

This is a hot and sexy story with a number of strong emotional scenes. Shep helps Emma out of her dark place. They find that they are good for each other. Although there are zigs and zags along their path they work hard to find their HEA. I really enjoyed this book. Author Stacey Kennedy wowed me with this one!

I give this book 5 stars. The storyline between Shep and Emma was well written. They met when she started working at Spurs, a bar in a little town. Emma and Shep were both trying to over come there grief. They both lost a family member. I whole heartedly recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I really enjoyed this book. The tension between the characters was excellent. The comedy relief with the brothers was well written and I liked the bar, farms and New York as backdrop. The story was interesting from start to finish.

Spectacular start to a sexy smart new series!

Stacey Kennedy has shown me time and time again what a wonderfully talented author she is. Her plots are well thought out and move seamlessly, her characters are strong confident men and woman whose realistic dialogue and sexual chemistry burns up the page. "Dirty Talking Cowboy" the first in the Kinky Spurs series is all this and more. Emma is a woman we'd all like to be cause frankly she has Shep. He is seriously one of the best heroes I've come across in a long long time. Sexy, smart, loyal, tender, all that and more. Seriously you need Shep in your life, even if it's just for the time it takes to see him and Emma fall in love.
I can hardly wait to read the next book in the series "Sweet-Talking" to see if brother Chase takes after his big brother.
I received an advance reader copy from Netgalley.

I stopped reading at around 15% because of some issues with the writing style. Based on that 15%, it seems to be a cowboy erotic romance with insta-lust. I would have been on board with that premise, if not for sentence structure and odd exposition-as-dialogue choices. If I have to read a sentence three times to figure out what the author is telling me, I'm going to be pulled out of the story... and not in a good way.

The author also did something that I loathe, but that I know isn't a turn-off for a lot of people: an "it-was-all-just-a-dream" sequence. The second scene in the book is a big sex scene with a) no leadup and b) no contraception... but then the heroine wakes up to find that she'd been being dragged around by a horse. I gave it another 20 pages after that, just to confirm that the hero was an okay guy, but I couldn't get past the awkward writing. Could be a totally different experience for another reader.

A copy of this book was provided by the publisher for review purposes via NetGalley.

Emma Monroe has returned to River Rock, Colorado, after the death of her grandmother. Now she’s inherited a farm full of abused animals and she’s working as a waitress at the local hotspot, Kinky Spurs. The last thing Emma wants in her life is a man, as she’s still recovering from a recent heartbreak. But when a sensual and powerful cowboy, Shep Blackshaw enters her life, Emma begins to want things she shouldn't.When I started reading I couldn't put it down I read the book in one day.Stacey Kennedy is magnifysent writer.I cannot wait to read more of there books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book. it

I'm such a sucker for cowboy stories. I enjoyed this a lot. She created likable characters, interesting back stories, and the plot kept me interested. The writing had a level of maturity that I appreciated, too. There were no "bad" characters, just bad decisions. And, wow. These sex scenes would have made Anais Nin blush.
