If you are a big fan of Kristen Ashley's Chaos series, you will love this book. I am not a big fan of the "super" alpha male characters, but Stacey Kennedy is a good quality writer. I know several people who will love this book, and I did recommend this book to them.

Wonderful, cowboy erotic romance. Readers will devour this book in one sitting. I felt there was more than just sex scenes, even seeming like it was too short of book. Characters had true issues as well as falling in love quickly. Usually I have a hard time with love gushing after two days, but somehow the author made this all work. This romance has it all and can't wait for the brothers' stories.

Stacey Kennedy’s Dirty Talking Cowboy, the first book in the new Kinky Spurs series, is the first book I have read by this author. Unfortunately, it will also be the last. After reading the description, I was really looking forward to a juicy cowboy romance. This book didn’t do it for me. The story line started out promising but fell flat pretty quickly. The author lost me when Emma and Shep had sex hours after Emma had been thrown from a horse and dragged, knocking her unconscious and landing her in the hospital. Shouldn’t she have been in two much pain for them to fall right into bed? She could barely move. How could she enjoy having a man’s body lying on top of her? Makes no sense.. I can only suspend realty so much. I got about a third of the way through the book but did not finish it.

Wow! I wish I could give this more then a 5 *. This is well written. You can feel the sparks and power between Emma and Shep. I absolutely loved the person Shep was. A lot of emotions going on in this story and I felt every one of them.

I enjoyed a lot about this book. Emma and Shep made a cute couple. I loved how their relationship began, with the game at the bar followed by him rescuing her from a horse, to learning about her through her morphine-induced speech. However, from that point on, though I didn't dislike the story, something was missing for me. There was plenty going on - taking care of the animals, saving businesses, deciding between 2 lifestyles, etc. - but it still seemed a bit slow to me. I also enjoyed many of the secondary characters and the closeness shared by the family and friends. Additionally, there was some witty banter, some sweetness, and a bit of steam. That is why I can't exactly put my finger on what more I needed that would have made this a better read for me.

Overall, I enjoyed it enough to recommend someone give it a try. I actually really enjoyed the relationship among the brothers, so I will read the other books in the series to see how their happily-ever-afters play out.

I love a kinky cowboys and thought Stacey Kennedy did a great job bringing Shep to life. Shep and Emma started out lovers. Their connection was explosive but you could feel their was something more.
Over the next few weeks these two become more. They included the other in important family sessions and respected the other person . Their passion and commitment towards the other continued to grow.
Being that this is the first book in a new series, we are introduced to the other characters for the next books.
Based on the last few chapters and a chapter for the next book, this is a series you don't want to miss.

Shep you know, tries to give his woman what she asks for but when she's hopped up on meds the woman doesn't make sense, "Shep smiled. “Now that is something I can give you later.” Not that he’d be all that opposed to giving her the * ** she referred to, but he’d start with a cheeseburger." It's good to know Shep doesn't mind being ogled, “don’t be sorry.” The side of his mouth curved, like he knew the power he had over her. “I happen to enjoy watching you eye-eff me, but you’re making it hard for me to be a gentleman.” Shep likes to celebrate those small milestones, “you’ve just told me that you are mine.” She arched her back and moaned, and as he entered her again, he growled in her ear, “I want what’s mine.” Man oh man, what a great book, I cannot wait for the other brothers to get a story of their own, bunch of hot cowboys.

A hot and sexy cowboy read. I love Dirty-Talking Cowboy. Shep sure lives up to a dirty talking kinky cowboy. I love how he is with his brothers Nash and Chase. Recovering the loss of their father is no easy feet when they find that he was hiding something from them. It takes a former city lover Emma to turn Shep's world upside down and brings life back into the Blackshaw's. Emma even though is at a turning point in her life when she inherits her grandma's farm grows a lot through out this quick read. I love how Shep and Emma burn up the sheets. Heck I wouldn't mind being roped by that sexy cowboy myself. This is a wonderful quick sexy read that will keep you turning the pages and fanning yourself.

2 stars
I tried this cowboy romance out. I gave it a shot. I wanted to love it, but sadly I didn't. The story was kind of weird. I thought the whole things didn't work. It all felt odd to me. There felt like there was 100 plot lines going on and nothing seemed to follow through.

A big thank you to NetGalley and St Martin 's Press/Swerve for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I found this to be a cute story! Emma and Shep are a cute couple, with humor and an instant connection. I don't get the title, but ok. Emma on drugs (hospital kind) was hilarious. There is a lot of sex. I think this is part of a series but it reads as a stand alone. I give it a 4. I think most romance readers will enjoy. This is not a western romance.

Dirty-Talking Cowboy was my first Stacey Kennedy read, but it certainly won't be my last. This was a great start to the new Kinky Spurs series.

Emma Monroe is dealing with heartbreak from every direction. Her grandmother has passed away and the man she thought she was going to spend the rest of her life with broke her heart. When Emma learns that her grandmother left her house and the animals on the farm to her, she goes there feel close to her grandmother again, to get away from things in New York and to figure out where her life goes next.

Shep Blackshaw not only has his own business to run, but he finds himself trying to save the business that his father started so many years ago from foreclosure. While he doesn't want to give up on the dreams that both he and his brothers, Chase and Nash, have, he also doesn't want to lose his father's business either.

While out one night at Kinky Spurs, Shep meets Emma and they are immediately drawn to one another. They decide to keep their relationship physical, but will they be able to keep emotions out of it? And if they don't, will Emma eventually feel pulled back to her previous life in New York?

This was a fun read with really likable characters. I enjoyed the part that the animals played in the story as well. I'm very intrigued to see what happens with Nash and Chase as this series progresses as well!

Holy Hannah, that was hawt!

The sparks start the moment Emma and Shep enter the same room, and they never go away. While Emma is trying to figure out her life after losing everything she had worked for, Shep is there. She tries to resist, but that just isn't happening, they are too electric together

Shep has been burned before and knows what he wants, and it's Emma. She is the full package for him, and he needs to know that. He does everything he can, but it is all up to her. The emotional connection they have is just as strong as the sexual attraction, but can she trust him enough?

Shep is putting it all on the line, and Emma needs to trust her instincts, because it won't be an easy journey, but the ending is so worth the ride!

This book is all about second chances and figuring out how to find happiness when the things go south. Both Emma and Shep think that the road they traveled have dealt them a bad hand but it is not until they come together that they find their way. The emotional storyline locked me in from the opening pages and it was a joy to read. I look forward to more in this series.

Stacey Kennedy is one of my automatic buy authors, so I was excited when I heard about Kinky Spurs. I thought Emma and Shep's book was a good start to the new series.

Poor Emma was dealt several blows at once and decided to stay at her Grams house in River Rock, Colorado until she was ready to head back to New York City. She takes a part time job at the town bar Kinky Spurs and that is where she first lays eyes on the tall, broad, well-built cowboy. She wants nothing to do with a man right now, especially after what her jerk of an ex just put her through, so why does she feel so drawn to this cowboy.

Shep is still feeling of the loss of this father and trying to save his fathers company, so he heads to Kinky Spurs. He doesn't know why Emma responds to his touch the way she does, but thinks that she is just the distraction that he needs. What starts out as sex only, quickly turns to more when they started sharing more time together getting to know each other.

I liked Emma and Shep's story and the beginning of this new series, but I can't wait to get the 2nd book in this series. It will be Chase and Harper's story and I can't wait to get my hands on Chase.

Dirty-Talking Cowboy by Stacey Kennedy is a western type contemporary romance. Ms. Kennedy has delivered a well-written book. Emma's fling with her boss ends in a bad way and she moves from New York to River Rock, Colorado into her grandmother's house. Shep owns his own business and is dealing with his father's death and his ranching business. Emma and Shep's story is packed with amazing, lovable characters, drama, humor and lots and lots of smokin' hot sex. I enjoyed reading Dirty-Talking Cowboy and look forward to reading more from Stacey Kennedy in the future. Dirty-Talking Cowboy is book 1 of the Kinky Spurs Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Dirty Talking Cowboy is a fun read. Emma has left a high powered job in New York after a year long relationship between her and the CEO of the company, he wanted to keep it secret as he didn't think there should be relationships between employees. When their relationship is discovered and he doesn't support her, Emma walks out of the company and goes to live at her deceased grandmothers farm for abused animals.
She has a job behind the bar of the Kinky Spurs here she meets hot cowboy Shep where heat sizzles between them both. So the dirty talking and hot sex begins, as Emma starts putting her heartbreak behind her she becomes close to Shep and as the relationship develops and has to make the choice between him and her old life.
An enjoyable read but on a personal note I couldn't get my head around the name 'Shep' I just kept thinking it was a name more suitable for a dog!
My thanks to net galley and publisher for opportunity to review this book honestly.

So part of this book follows a rather familiar pattern about a eastern city girl moving out west and trying to settle in to a small western town. The other part is about the sexy romance developing between Emma and Shep, the titular dirty-talking cowboy.

The first part of the story is about the magnetic attraction between the two of them. After putting up a bit of a delay, Emma starts having lots of explosive sex with Shep. He’s the perfect guy - sexy, nice, protective, sexy, competent, and centered. He knows right away that she’s going to be special to him and the way he wins her over is by roping her in a lasso demonstration at the bar in front of a crowd. That’s enough for her to fall for him and for them to have lots of sex.

Then the story evolves into being about Emma’s adapting to her new life on her grandmother’s rescue farm for injured animals. She’s been hurt by her former boyfriend and has decided to stay on the farm that her grandmother left her while working at the cowboy bar, The Kinky Spurs. Shep is just perfect as he helps her out and is patient and understanding. And did I mention that they also have lots of hot sex? So the novel lives up to its title.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Dirty-Talking Cowboy is the first book in the sexy and exciting new series, Kinky Spurs. Told from dual points of view, Dirty-Talking Cowboy follows the story of Shep and Emma. Recovering from a recent heartbreak and loss of a beloved family member, Emma finds herself back in Colorado. She's got enough on her plate with her waitressing job and the farm that she's inherited. The last thing she needs is another man in her life. But, when she meets Shep, he is just the man to push all of her boundaries and break all of her rules...Shep's got enough going on in his life, that the last thing he should be thinking about is adding a woman to the mix. However, the moment Shep sets his eyes on Emma, he knows he'll never be able to walk away. There's just something about this woman that calls to his every instinct. He has to have her. Will Shep make Emma take a chance on love and forget her broken heart? There's only one way to find out...

Overall, I really liked this book. I fell in love with Shep and Emma instantly. I loved their chemistry and couldn't get enough of Shep's dirty mouth. I mean, this guy could melt your clothes right off by just using words. He was intense and sexy as can be. He promises Emma naughty adventures and passion like she's never experienced. How is a woman to say no to that? She can't. Shep is impossible for Emma to ignore. These two burn up the pages like none another and have you flipping quickly through the pages to see how their story would play out. Not only does Shep and Emma have amazing sexual chemistry, but their banter is pretty great too. Shep is determined and caring and hard working. He isn't afraid to go after what he wants and doesn't take no for an answer. He brings Emma back to life and shows her just how good love can be and why it's worth taking a chance on..

I think Dirty-Talking Cowboy is a great start to this series. It certainly checked off all my boxes and had me glued to the pages. I can't wait to see where this story is going to go next!

Stacey Kennedy is a new to me author and I can tell that she a has big fan base. Sadly, this book did not work for me at all. I was really put off by the writing. I would have thought this was a first attempt at writing a book rather than someone with several titles on her backlist. Again, other seem to love this author so I would try a sample of this book as the issue may be my own.
