The title says it all! Dirty talking, cowboy, kinky! What else is there? Stacey takes us to the Blackshaw ranch for this one and what a great story this is. I loved every single dirty talking minute of it.
Emma comes back to her grandmothers farm after she passes aways and leaves it to Emma. Her gran always took in stray animals and those that needed rescuing. Emma has great memories of summers here with her, while grateful for a place to escape to she's still a bit confused why Gran would leave her this farm. Emma needed to leave NY, after a disastrous end to a relationship with her boss, that not only demolished her career and hopes of a future it totally destroyed her. No self esteem, unsure of herself, her ex did a number on her. The break up is fresh and she's still as skittish as the abused horse she took in.
Grateful for Megan giving her a job bartending on weekends at the Kinky Spurs bar, it's there she meets Shep, oldest of the Blackshaw brothers and good grief sexy as hell. The man has a presence that oozes off the pages. He's got a little thing for Emma, so on game night he makes a deal with Megan that he'll play but only if Emma is his partner. It's a rope 'em up contest. No one beats Shep roping. He had Emma tied up before she knew it. Best part was you could tell Emma liked it.
Emma gets hurt trying to ride the new horse and luckily Shep is out riding with the cattle when he heard her calls for help. From there we hit the hospital and his insistence on caring for her. Shep is a real nuturer behind that quiet exterior and he cares for people. He's a fixer to an extent but he wants Emma but knows she's got to come to him on her terms. He's around a lot working with her horse, now named Bentley. Emma's still torn about her past, and Shep does his best to prove she's worth so much more. If only she'd really believe him.
Shep and Emma, when they hit the sheets or any other convenient place the sparks fly. He's the perfect man. Not too Alpa, just enough, smooth talking and tie me up, tie me down, just rope me kind of sexy. Emma meets his two brothers Nash and Chase. Along with Emma, Harper works at the bar too and there's tension between her and Chase. Chase's best friend is Brody, Harper's brother. There's def some sexual tension there. They both have their own dreams they need to follow and things were in place until the sudden death of their father. When Shep met with the accountant and found out how badly the ranch was doing, it was time to make some major decisions. It was distracting for him and he hated breaking the news to his mother. Megan's father was the largest competitor for beef and their farms abutted. He'd made an offer to their father before he died and their Dad was considering selling to help bail out the company. There's so much backstory here you have to read it.
I loved this book. It's a must read. I loved Shep and Emma together and when the rubber hits the road, it's Shep who steps in. The end is not to be missed and like every other Stacey Kennedy book I've read, you just fall right into the story.
Great story, fantastic plot and I can't wait for another taste of these brothers. Next up is Chase and Harper.

Dirty-talking cowboy who knows how to use a rope is just perfect for Emma who's been hurt and come home to lick her wounds. Shep steps in and shows her what real love is. Shep's hurting after losing his father and possible his father's business, but it's Emma's turn to help him.

I'm pretty sure I know who both of his brothers are going to wind up with. I just can't wait to watch the fireworks.

The Blackshaw brothers, yes please. I can tell this is going to be a fun series. First up is Shep Blackshaw and is he gorgeous, sexy, dirty-talking, and almost too perfect. Trust is something that is not easily gained and the relationships (whether it be person to person or person to animal) were introduced and dealt with realistically. Not everything is black and white. Emma and Shep were great together and the sexy times were off the charts fun and flirty. Looking forward to more Blackshaw brothers.

I have a situation, I tend to like this authors stories but I am not really crazy about the kinky part, honestly that ruins the story for me, don't get me wrong I like sex and dirty talkers just like the next person but the rest is not for me. I liked Emma and felt for her she was broken by a bad relationship and is starting new and she really doesn't trust men. Then here comes Shep he really does not have time for a relationship but Emma changes all that.

Wow! Loved this sweet but oh so hot and dirty book by Ms. Kennedy. There is an HEA, however it really did not go like I thought it would. I loved that! There are times when you read a book and think you know what is going to happen, right? Well this one did not do that. It was heartfelt and all about winning the heart of someone who was hurt and felt like she couldn't trust again, Shep was very protective but also very patient with Emma, who just had her heart ripped out of her. Things did pop up that made me say oh crap, what next. I loved how they were resolved though. The writing in this book make me feel as though I was there with Emma and Shep and everyone else. It drew me in and I really did not want to put it down.
Bring on the next book!

Wow! What a read. I love me some dirty talking cowboys... Love this story about healing the broken parts and learning to trust again. Mix that with some hot chemistry and some kinky times makes for a great book. Can’t wait to read the next one in this series.

4 - "There's something here between us... I want to explore it." Stars!

My first venture into the writing imagination of Stacey Kennedy, turned out to be a pretty good one, with Dirty-Talking Cowboy ticking all the boxes in relation to a quick, easy, sexy read, with extra rope thrown in for good measure.

So many regrets… She had so many.

Kinky Spurs is the bar that Emma Monroe finds herself working part time in when her high flying life in New York combusts around her. Add in to the fact the beloved Gran has just died and left her farm/animal shelter to deal with as well, you can understand that her return to River Rock, Colorado has not left her in the happiest of mind-sets.

There wasn’t a hint of weakness in him… This guy was all man, right down to his toned, muscular body.

So meeting sexy cowboy Shep Blackshaw, across the crowded Kinky Spurs bar-top and feeling an instant connection to him, is not something she really wants to feel or is initially interested in exploring… That is until he ropes her up one evening as part of a bar challenge, and she cannot deny the chemistry fizzing between them any longer.

He shouldn’t want to start anything with her, and yet here they were…

I absolutely loved Shep in this one, totally the dominant, dirty-talking, alpha cowboy, but he handled Emma just as gently as one of her abused animals at points, knowing exactly when she needed a bit of his own special brand of rough, and when she needed something deeper. Their coming together is a bit ‘insta’ in that she’s running from the collapse of one relationship, and falling for him whilst still getting over it, but I didn’t mind. Shep let her work through her issues, without pushing his growing feelings on her until the time was right.

"Don’t hide… You don’t ever have to do that with me."

The author hit the ground running with this one, I won’t lie, the first few chapters could have done with some more work in my own personal opinion, they were jumpy, and badly laid out. Several times I had to go back and re-read things to understand what the author was trying to get across, and where the POV was coming from, but once the story got going the flow seemed to smooth out.

"When I play… I deliver."

Plenty of diverse sexy-times itoo, so if you are looking for a decent story line, with lots of (sometimes kinky) playtime thrown in, then Shep and Emma delivered in spades on that front.

"I’m a better me with you…"

The Blackshaw family were also introduced in general as well, with brothers Nash and Chase offering up plenty of things for this reader to like and be intrigued about them, and the author hinted pretty heavily that she will be using two of my favorite tropes in their books, ‘brothers best friend’ and ‘frenemies to lovers’ are generally winners for me so I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. And I am hoping that it won’t be limited to just the Blackshaw family, there were quite a few secondary characters that were introduced along the way that left me with the thought 'I wonder if he/she will be getting a book…', so things have been crossed in the hope the author has plenty of steam and stories left to write in the Kinky Spurs series.

"Be close…"

Chase and Harper are up next in; Sweet-Loving Cowboy, due for release later this year.

Long Time Fan of Stacey Kennedy. Great new Cowboy Romance Series! Emma Monroe has come back to Rock River Colorado because her beloved Grandma has passed and she has left Emma the Ranch. Emma is from New York - A big city gal with a take charge business savy that finds out that business is business and love does not mix well with it. Shep Blackshaw and his two brothers have experienced death first hand with their fathers passing. Emma and Shep were great characters. Look forward to reading more in this series. The Bar Kinky Spurs is the perfect place for the fires of love to ignite. "A copy of this book was provided by St. Martin's Press via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. 4+++ stars.
Wow, Stacey Kennedy that is the way to combine a scorching hot erotic read with a tender and heartwarming story. I loved it.
Great start to this "Kinky Spurs" series.
Emma and Shep were dynamite together. One hot cowboy with a heart of gold and one city girl with a broken heart.
Shep also has two hot brothers that I am seriously excited to read about. Hopefully they will get their books soon.

4.5 Living Up To The Title Stars

Oh, Be Still My Cowboy Lovin' Heart...As I was sneak reading this book, not expecting to be so taken with it so soon, I realized Stacey Kennedy wasn't pulling any punches with this delicious tale. Right from the start, she set up a clear picture of her "Dirty Talking Cowboy"....the man who would walk in a room and immediately take control...with his gate, his presence and with his intense stare. From the moment Shep Blackshaw strolled into the bar, Kinky Spurs, the air shifted and Emma Monroe was caught like a deer in headlights.

Stacey Kennedy gives us one hell of a prologue and first chapter..They were so steamy, I had to look around and check if anyone was looking at me during my lunch break while I read...Because I was stunned... I forgot I had read Stacey Kennedy once before and noted how hot Heartbreaker (Filthy Dirty Love) was https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

This is the first entry to a new series based around the bar Kinky Spurs, the owner, employees and the Blackshaw brothers. This story laid all the groundwork. We met the brothers, their possible/probable love interests and how all of it will come together.

Shep Blackwell is the eldest and his family has owned one of the largest cattle companies in Colorado. It was the family's pride and joy as the father worked hard to make it all happen. The three sons each have had their own focus on other careers, not wishing to run the ranch. With the father's recent untimely death, each is feeling the loss. The hard reality is that the father withheld the facts that business has been off for a while...and it will be up the the men to figure out what the next step is...

Emma Monroe has moved back to her Grandma's farm. It was her death and the humiliating realization her year long relationship with the CEO of the company she worked for was nothing but a diversion for him. She had worked hard for all of her promotions and had been respected as a marketing professional in the cut-throat market of New York City. Then her "Down Low" relationship with the CEO was discovered and everything went to shit. The man who she thought loved her, turned his back on her... destroying her reputation. Her only recourse was to run to the farm and take a moment...

Emma's Grandma was known for taking in animals no one else wanted or could handle...She was known as an animal whisperer of sorts...Emma grew up visiting and wanted to do right by the animals on the farm, too. While she was trying to figure out her life, she decided to work the farm and work part time bartending at Kinky Spurs.

It was there for the last three weeks, this dynamic cowboy would come in and the air would change... Emma would know immediately to look his way...and she would see him... staring directly at her...first from a distance and then this time he walked up and flat out approached her...acknowledging the chemistry that was happening just from a look!

Emma had sworn of men... casual sex and really any sex at all.... only her body was vetoing this idea when ever this cowboy was around...Emma needed to shut this down and told him she couldn't date customers...

The next thing she knows her boss has her participating as part of one of the bars events ... a huge draw called rope'em up...where men lasso and wrist tie their girls for prizes...all fun and a little kinky. Emma is paired with this Cowboy and OMG...She can hardly breathe...just the idea of getting close, having him working this rope and controlling her sparks something she never experienced before...and when he talks low into her ear warning her to stop her movements against him.... Oh My...Emma is caught and maybe doesn't want to be cut loose...

These two have this dynamic start and it continues. Emma isn't the only one who has been hurt emotionally. Shep had his own love issues and he wasn't in a position to deal with any complications either...But this woman was something very different... and when circumstances bring them together once again...the dye has been cast...These two are destined to figure out each is for the other.

The angst for these two deals with understanding where you can belong... and allowing yourself to accept love that is good for you. The chemistry is extremely solid between Shep and Emma... the both work, both get off on him being in charge...she feels cared for and he is a bit of caveman but in a good way...

Whew...so the verdict of this new series is quite enjoyable. Stacey has put together enemy-families who interconnect, who have conflicts and who are harboring feelings for each other. There also is a best friend's little sister all grown up and star-crossed with one of the Blackshaw brothers.

Expect the next entry Sweet-Loving Cowboy in the Fall of 2018.

Wow!! I knew from almost the first sentence this was going to be a fantastic book and I wasn't wrong. Stacey brings to her characters a realism that is just beautifully presented. Shep and Emma are fabulous and oh my gosh steaming hot!! I really loved their dynamic together, as well as learning about their struggles and how they overcame them. Shep's family was an important part of the story line and I'm looking forward to learning more about them as the series continues. I was captivated from beginning to end and I can't wait for the next book in the series!!

Emma works at the Kinky Spurs bar where they add kinky games to the venue on Friday and Saturday nights. Shep is a handsome rancher who finds her irresistible and they quickly begin a relationship with a bit of BDSM thrown in. Not a lot of plot but if you like a quick romance read you'll enjoy this.

Emma leaves her marketing job in New York City after a big ordeal that broke her heart and reputation. Leaving her jerk of a fiancé behind, she heads to the ranch her grandmother left her in her will.

At the ranch, she finds solace in the quiet.. She also finds herself in Shep, the cowboy from the neighboring ranch. However, she still longs for the bustle of the city and the challenge of the career she once had.

I loved all the characters, but Shep is hot. I don't think it is possible to create a hotter cowboy. Hot, hot, hot. The sex is....Well, it deserves a moment of silence.

There are so many reasons to read this book. The plot is solid, the characters are lovable, and the sex is divine. I recommend this.

A quick little hot cowboy romance that will take you for quite the ride. Shep is the perfect alpha cowboy who ends up taking care of Emma, the bartender who is staying on her grandmothers ranch, after a terrible accident. All after a brief sexy encounter at the bar the night before! The relationship that forms between these two is amazing! Filled with witty banter and steam. I thought it started off great with the prologue hooking me right in, but there were certain parts that lagged and felt like something was missing. I also felt like this was a book written by a debut author so I was surprised to learn that it wasn't. 2.5 stars for me.

So dang hot and so dang good!

You know you’re in for a fabulous read when the first few pages break you into a sweat. This book is everything it promises and then some.

With a dirty-talking hot, muscular, sexy-ass cowboy at your fingertips, who needs a stuffy executive from New York City? Even though your life is in shambles and everything’s all up in the air is there a question of what you should be doing or where you should be? That’s what poor Emma is trying to figure out.

I love this book. Not only is it a heart pounding, pulse racing, fan your face experience, but it is fun, lighthearted, and a fabulous part of a new contemporary romance series that’s not to be missed.

Stacy Kennedy writes from the heart and she has a passion for her stories that comes through in amazing ways. The delicate balance of the right amount of heat and passion, the expert detail and creation of her characters, and the understanding of what makes a beautiful story flow perfectly is evident in this book.

Dirty-Talking Cowboy is a Delicious experience that you need in your life. And Shep? Let's just say, Oh My! He can light me up anytime!

Now Ms. Kennedy, how long will it be till we get to the other brothers??? Tick Tock.........

This was a good start to a new series by Stacey Kennedy. This was a quick, enjoyable read and I thought Shep and Emma were good solid characters with a lot of chemistry that was evident on the page. I enjoyed watching Emma mend from her broken heart and come into her own realizing who she was and what she wanted from her life. Shep is a sweet and sexy alpha male who allows her the room to make this discover all while showing her that he sees who she really is and wants her for herself. I also enjoyed the relationship between the brothers as well. I thought there were parts of the book that were a bit slow but in the end did enjoy the read.

RATING 4.5 STARS

Dirty-Talking Cowboy is book one in the new series, Kinky Spurs by Stacey Kennedy. Everyone that knows me knows that I have a thing for cowboys. Stacey Kennedy is a new to me author so when I saw that her new series featured one very hot cowboy, I decided this was the perfect time to get to know this author and my oh my am I glad I did.

“Come to Kinky Spurs, where cowboys wrangle women’s hearts…and rope their bodies!”

Emma Monroe loved her life in New York as an Executive Creative Director for a prestigious firm. She had been in a relationship with the CEO, Jake, for a year but they kept it secret, until word got out and Jake broke her heart. At the same time, Emma just got word of her beloved Grams death in River Rock, Colorado. Gram owned a small farm where she took in and cared for abused animals. It was always Emma’s place where she went for renewal, for recharging. Now, her Grams has left the farm to her. With a broken heart and spirit, Emma escapes to the farm to try to decide what to do with her life now.

This life couldn’t be any more different than what her life was in New York. Different but not in a bad way. Will she sell the farm and go back to the life she knew? Could she really adjust to life in the country? To stay busy, she takes a part time job as a bartender at Kinky Spurs. That’s how she first saw him, the sexiest cowboy she has ever seen. When he walked in, it’s all she could do to tear her eyes away from him. After that he has kept coming in pretty regularly but she has to be strong. She does not need a man further complicating her life, even if it’s only for one night.

Shep Blackshaw has just lost his father, the owner and CEO of the huge company, Blackshaw Cattle Company. Shep has his own business, Blackshaw Survival, a wilderness survival training company. He is not interested in getting involved in his father’s business but when he finds out that Blackshaw Cattle is in financial difficulties, he has some important decisions to make.

When he walked in to Kinky Spurs and saw the new bartender, he was transfixed. She was all he could think about. You could practically hear the sizzle between them whenever he got close to her. But it was obvious she was as scared as a new born colt. This woman had been hurt.

When a bar roping game pairs Shep and Emma, the sparks fly and Shep knows he has to have this woman. More importantly, he wants to earn her trust, he wants to get to know her. Shep is a fixer, when he sees someone that needs something, he takes care of it. He has so much on his shoulders right now. Should he really be taking on this woman? But he can’t resist her.

“No matter how much bad there is in the world, there is always light, and a warm place that’s home.”

When a broken and abused horse is brought to Emma’s farm, the horse becomes an inspiration for Emma. If the horse won’t give up, maybe she won’t either. Maybe there is hope for the both of them?

“This woman had him caught up. He wanted more from her, and if she’d stop being so scared, she’d see they were already on their way to something amazing.”

I loved this book. Shep was a dirty talking, take control, sexy as sin cowboy with a heart of gold. He fell fast for Emma but he knew he had to be careful not to rush her. Emma and Shep together burned up the pages. Or rather, melted the entire e-reader! I also fell in love with Shep’s two brothers and Mom. I will admit that I am hooked. There is no way I’m not going to continue with this series. The next book is Sweet-Loving Cowboy and is Shep’s brother Chase’s story and you can most definitely count on me reading it!

While I am a fan of this author, the start to this new series fell short for me because the storyline is nothing new. Emma flees from her life to her late grandmother's house and immediately meets Shep. In my opinion, the story is too rushed for the characters to be deeply developed and it is just too predictable and not credible. Just so so for me.
