This was the first Stacey Kennedy book I've read and I'll definitely be back for more. I loved the story and the characters were well developed.

I liked this book even if I didn't like so much Shep, too bad because he is the hero, but Emma is lovely and I love her so much that I kept on reading mostly because of her. Still wondering about the other two brothers on the series....

THANKS TO NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!

From prologue to epilogue, Dirty Talking Cowboy, is extremely hot and sensual. It set the series up perfectly. I can't wait for the next book to come out so I can see what happens next.

(I received an invitation to review this book from the publisher through NetGalley.)

Dirty-Talking Cowboy was my first Stacey Kennedy read

Emma and Shep's story is packed with lovable characters, drama, humour and lots smoking' hot sex. Dirty-Talking Cowboy is book 1 of the Kinky Spurs Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger

If you are a big fan of Kristen Ashley's Chaos series, you will love this book. I am not a big fan of the "super" alpha male characters, but Stacey Kennedy is a good quality writer. I know several people who will love this book, and I did recommend this book to them.

Wonderful, cowboy erotic romance. Readers will devour this book in one sitting. I felt there was more than just sex scenes, even seeming like it was too short of book. Characters had true issues as well as falling in love quickly. Usually I have a hard time with love gushing after two days, but somehow the author made this all work. This romance has it all and can't wait for the brothers' stories.

Stacey Kennedy’s Dirty Talking Cowboy, the first book in the new Kinky Spurs series, is the first book I have read by this author. Unfortunately, it will also be the last. After reading the description, I was really looking forward to a juicy cowboy romance. This book didn’t do it for me. The story line started out promising but fell flat pretty quickly. The author lost me when Emma and Shep had sex hours after Emma had been thrown from a horse and dragged, knocking her unconscious and landing her in the hospital. Shouldn’t she have been in two much pain for them to fall right into bed? She could barely move. How could she enjoy having a man’s body lying on top of her? Makes no sense.. I can only suspend realty so much. I got about a third of the way through the book but did not finish it.

Wow! I wish I could give this more then a 5 *. This is well written. You can feel the sparks and power between Emma and Shep. I absolutely loved the person Shep was. A lot of emotions going on in this story and I felt every one of them.

I enjoyed a lot about this book. Emma and Shep made a cute couple. I loved how their relationship began, with the game at the bar followed by him rescuing her from a horse, to learning about her through her morphine-induced speech. However, from that point on, though I didn't dislike the story, something was missing for me. There was plenty going on - taking care of the animals, saving businesses, deciding between 2 lifestyles, etc. - but it still seemed a bit slow to me. I also enjoyed many of the secondary characters and the closeness shared by the family and friends. Additionally, there was some witty banter, some sweetness, and a bit of steam. That is why I can't exactly put my finger on what more I needed that would have made this a better read for me.

Overall, I enjoyed it enough to recommend someone give it a try. I actually really enjoyed the relationship among the brothers, so I will read the other books in the series to see how their happily-ever-afters play out.

I love a kinky cowboys and thought Stacey Kennedy did a great job bringing Shep to life. Shep and Emma started out lovers. Their connection was explosive but you could feel their was something more.
Over the next few weeks these two become more. They included the other in important family sessions and respected the other person . Their passion and commitment towards the other continued to grow.
Being that this is the first book in a new series, we are introduced to the other characters for the next books.
Based on the last few chapters and a chapter for the next book, this is a series you don't want to miss.

Shep you know, tries to give his woman what she asks for but when she's hopped up on meds the woman doesn't make sense, "Shep smiled. “Now that is something I can give you later.” Not that he’d be all that opposed to giving her the * ** she referred to, but he’d start with a cheeseburger." It's good to know Shep doesn't mind being ogled, “don’t be sorry.” The side of his mouth curved, like he knew the power he had over her. “I happen to enjoy watching you eye-eff me, but you’re making it hard for me to be a gentleman.” Shep likes to celebrate those small milestones, “you’ve just told me that you are mine.” She arched her back and moaned, and as he entered her again, he growled in her ear, “I want what’s mine.” Man oh man, what a great book, I cannot wait for the other brothers to get a story of their own, bunch of hot cowboys.

A hot and sexy cowboy read. I love Dirty-Talking Cowboy. Shep sure lives up to a dirty talking kinky cowboy. I love how he is with his brothers Nash and Chase. Recovering the loss of their father is no easy feet when they find that he was hiding something from them. It takes a former city lover Emma to turn Shep's world upside down and brings life back into the Blackshaw's. Emma even though is at a turning point in her life when she inherits her grandma's farm grows a lot through out this quick read. I love how Shep and Emma burn up the sheets. Heck I wouldn't mind being roped by that sexy cowboy myself. This is a wonderful quick sexy read that will keep you turning the pages and fanning yourself.

2 stars
I tried this cowboy romance out. I gave it a shot. I wanted to love it, but sadly I didn't. The story was kind of weird. I thought the whole things didn't work. It all felt odd to me. There felt like there was 100 plot lines going on and nothing seemed to follow through.

Dirty-Talking Cowboy what can I say but WOW!!!!!! Stacey has done it again. Great characters, hot erotic scenes and what a great start to a new series. There are depth to these characters and you can feel their pain and joy. But most do all you can feel the heat. These two characters, Emma and Shep, leap off the pages at you from the start. If you don’t read this series, you’re missing out on a great experience.

They had an instant connection towards each other, They both have emotional connection because of there last relationship plus there is plenty of steamy hot sex, There plenty of flirty banter between them, Cant say to much with out tell to much of the story. Sometimes you just need a book that is low on drama and high on sensuality, and this was it. I loved everything about it. It started off with a bang and just got better from there. I loved how honest Shep was about everything and didn't mince words when it came to telling Emma how he felt. They were both so honest and it was so refreshing. I've definitely found a new favorite author!

A big thank you to NetGalley and St Martin 's Press/Swerve for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I found this to be a cute story! Emma and Shep are a cute couple, with humor and an instant connection. I don't get the title, but ok. Emma on drugs (hospital kind) was hilarious. There is a lot of sex. I think this is part of a series but it reads as a stand alone. I give it a 4. I think most romance readers will enjoy. This is not a western romance.

**I received an early copy of this title courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review**

Dirty-Talking Cowboy was my first Stacey Kennedy read, but it certainly won't be my last. This was a great start to the new Kinky Spurs series.

Emma Monroe is dealing with heartbreak from every direction. Her grandmother has passed away and the man she thought she was going to spend the rest of her life with broke her heart. When Emma learns that her grandmother left her house and the animals on the farm to her, she goes there feel close to her grandmother again, to get away from things in New York and to figure out where her life goes next.

Shep Blackshaw not only has his own business to run, but he finds himself trying to save the business that his father started so many years ago from foreclosure. While he doesn't want to give up on the dreams that both he and his brothers, Chase and Nash, have, he also doesn't want to lose his father's business either.

While out one night at Kinky Spurs, Shep meets Emma and they are immediately drawn to one another. They decide to keep their relationship physical, but will they be able to keep emotions out of it? And if they don't, will Emma eventually feel pulled back to her previous life in New York?

This was a fun read with really likable characters. I enjoyed the part that the animals played in the story as well. I'm very intrigued to see what happens with Nash and Chase as this series progresses as well!

Emma Monroe is dealing with a lot of heartache. Her grandmother recently died, and her boyfriend of a year broke her heart. Thanks to the legacy left to her, Emma has moved to River Rock to take care of rescued animals on Grams’s farm. Emma also works part-time at a bar called Kinky Spurs, where she meets Shep.

For the most part, Shep has it all together. He built his own house on his own land and runs a survival-training company. He rescues Emma from the start, and in turn, she ends up enriching his life and hers.

This is overall quite a sweet romance. In spite of the fact that Emma and Shep get into a physical relationship early on, they balance it out by being genuinely interested in one another as people and respectful of each other’s space. They see and admire traits in one another that have nothing to do with sex. That said, the spice level is impressively high, so I do recommend it to people who see the word ‘kinky’ in the series title and reach for their wallets. Their happy ending wraps up everything nicely and I could picture them being together forever.

Unfortunately, I can’t personally give this more than three stars. It’s too uneven. Most of the external conflict comes from Shep’s problems while all of the internal conflict is Emma’s. This robs Shep of a character arc. The writing style is often unwieldy, especially when it comes to the dialogue. Too much time is spent setting up characters for other books, which makes it seems as if there wasn’t enough going on in the romance in this book. That didn’t help my occasional impressions that their relationship was too heavily based on infatuation.

Although the story is pretty short, there’s a lot of drama to be had, particularly in the last 25% of the book. It never gets too angsty, and stays on the light and sexy side. The best balance is struck by Emma and Shep's relationship. They’ve got attraction, sexual compatibility, fondness, and mutual understanding. And if one can say that the best part of a Romance novel is the relationship, then I would say it’s a successful Romance.

I could comfortably recommend this book to people who love Western category romance, especially if they don’t mind some old school elements like possessive alphas and nosy families.

Holy Hannah, that was hawt!

The sparks start the moment Emma and Shep enter the same room, and they never go away. While Emma is trying to figure out her life after losing everything she had worked for, Shep is there. She tries to resist, but that just isn't happening, they are too electric together

Shep has been burned before and knows what he wants, and it's Emma. She is the full package for him, and he needs to know that. He does everything he can, but it is all up to her. The emotional connection they have is just as strong as the sexual attraction, but can she trust him enough?

Shep is putting it all on the line, and Emma needs to trust her instincts, because it won't be an easy journey, but the ending is so worth the ride!
