I have got to say I love a cowboy romance. Shep and Emma are such a hot pair. I not only enjoyed the storyline but I liked the bit of humor thrown in now and again. Especially when Emma under the influence of medication said things she might not otherwise say. This couple was very well mached and they seemed to be good for one another. I like how Shep was able to build trust in Emma by opening up to her and listening to what she had to say. All the characters in this book were great. Emma was able to realize that what her grandmother left her was worth sticking around for and that she loved River Rock and could make a great life for herself. I am glad she was able to see the ex that hurt her was not what she needed and sent him away when he came around. Shep was such a warm and caring man. Always trying to make sure his family was taken care of. He is definitely an alpha man who knows what he wants and makes sure that Emma knows that. I love how Shep and his brothers Chase and Nash along with the help of Emma are able to keep their father's legacy alive. Great HEA. I can wait to read what is in store for Chase and Nash and the ladies they have their eyes on!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Dirty Talking Cowboy is right up my alley. And the Kink wasn't over the top, so don't let the title throw you off.
Emma returns back to her Grandmother's farm after she dies and leaves her farm. Her grandmother rescued abuse animals and Emma wants to continue her work until she figures out what she is going to do about her ex back in New York. If there was one part of the story I didn't care for was how hung up she was on her ex, who ditched her when she need him the most.
Shep,is the hot cowboy who she has seen at her part time job as a waitress at the bar Kinky Spurs. They play some pretty kinky roping games and she can't seem to get him out of her head.
When Shep rescues Emma from after being dragged by an abused horse, he hangs around to help out with the horse. Shep has a reputation and Emma isn't sure she should hook up with him, no matter how good her dreams are of him.
Although Shep isn't sure he wants anything permanent, he can't help but be drawn to her. But when things get heavy, he isn't sure she is gonna stick around. He is afraid she will head back to her life in New York.
I enjoyed reading this book and the series and hope to read about some of the supporting cast in this series.

I have a thing for cowboys and the blurb sounded like it might be good so I took a chance on this one. Stacey Kennedy is a new to me author so I had no idea what to expect. Honestly I was a little worried that this book would be all sex and little substance given the title. It really wasn't at all.

Shep is the H in this one and a real cowboy. Emma, the h, is a city girl who inherited her Gram's farm. Emma arrives broken hearted to the River Rock farm, not only because of the loss of her beloved Gram but also because of the end of a one year relationship. The physical attraction between Shep and Emma is intense from the start but how could they possibly make it being so opposite of one another? Could Emma even stay in River Rock? What about her corporate line of work? Are things really over with the ex? All this is happening while Shep is also dealing with major family and financial problems after the death of his father.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. The characters were interesting and engaging. The plot flows nicely. And the author even sets up some future stories for this series (although this one can completely stand alone). Glad I read it and will likely continue with the series.

Emma Monroe is a city girl with a broken heart after a relationship with her boss goes very wrong. She returns to River Rock after her beloved grandmother dies and leaves her property to Emma. Enter cowboy Shep Blackshaw. Emma isn’t interested in a man, but there are definite sparks between her and Shep. Their relationship heats up quickly and deepens as they get to know each other better.

This is an easy read that I devoured in one sitting. I found the start a bit jarring until I reached the slight twist and the plot began to make sense. Once I got that far, I liked the characters more, and I enjoyed the way they talked to each other instead of keeping secrets. The love scenes were steamy and hot, living up to the title of the book. There is a great cast of secondary characters including Shep’s two younger brothers.
On the whole, I enjoyed this book and it is a strong 4 star read for me.

This was a steamy read and I loved the cover to this, it fit Shep perfectly and the title pretty much says it all, he is the best kind of dirty talking cowboy :)

Oh, Shep. Hands down. he was a great MC. He was sweet and understanding and not only hot with a sexy bit of kink thrown in, he was a genuinely awesome guy. I loved him. I loved the way he was with his mom, with his brothers, with Bentley, Emma, and even the easy friendships he had with Megan and Harper. He was definitely an alpha and provider.

Emma was sweet and a little wary at the strong pull she feels towards Shep. But she also doesn’t back down from a challenge, especially when Shep is issuing it. I definitely felt for her and her situation. Although not ideal, her emotional turmoil did fit her character. I loved that she was able let go of the past and adapt to a new future, one that she didn’t plan but still loved.

Memorable Moments:
For the heat alone – Emma’s naughty dream *fans self* this girl has a really good imagination, lol! But it ultimately gets 2nd place after that scorching hot fence scene, it was brimming with sexual tension and their chemistry was tangible.

Would I recommend?
Yes, if you’re in the mood for a dirty talking cowboy with a naughty & kinky side, you definitely have to meet Shep!

Moving to the countryside was not on Emma’s plans for her future but after a terrible ordeal she finds herself escaping to her grandma’s house indefinitely.

Things are looking pretty bleak, she is lonely and has no idea what she is gonna do with her life. And as if things weren't already bad she almost gets killed by a crazy horse, fate seems to be against her.

That is until Shep steps into her life. If you had to choose a word to describe him it would be commanding, he has an energy about him that just makes you want to drop on your knees in front of him and beg him to take you. And that is exactly what Emma wants to do when she sees him, but she had made a lot of mistakes and she is not about to add another hot bad boy to her list of regrets.

They say looks can be deceiving, and in Shep's case that is totally right, he is honest and straight forward, and he wants Emma and no is not an acceptable answer.

They are pushed together by fate and then it's up to them to figure out if the risk is worth taking.

Shep has never felt like this before, his family always told him that when he met the one he would know, and now everything lays in her hands.

Will Emma be strong enough to trust one more time?

Stacey Kennedy, you've got a new fan! Dirty Talking Cowboy was exactly what I was looking for!

I'm always up for a good cowboy romance, especially when the cowboy is someone like Shep. Oh my, what a heart breaker. Emma was easily likable as well and she was fun to read about. Put the two of them together and you get this amazing story that you'll want to stay up late reading. Seriously, this is one book that I didn't want to put down. I became vested with Shep and Emma to the point I felt that I knew them personally. Oh, I love the whole Kinky Spurs setup too.

The connection was undeniable and both knew how to create some heat. Talk about hot! If you like a little steam and a dirty talking cowboy who can spark a fire, you need to read about Shep and Emma.

Dirty-Talking Cowboy by Stacey Kennedy is a very steamy novel! Panting, happiness, and tearing up, are only a few of the emotions I experienced while reading this book. This is the first book from the author's brand new series Kinky Spurs, and it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

Emma Monroe loved the hustle and bustle of her life in New York City. Her creativity and smarts got her the job of Executive Creative Director for a prominent advertising agency. Then her grandmother passed away and her boyfriend, who is also the CEO of the company she works for, dismisses their relationship without batting an eye. In the process, he tarnishes her stellar reputation in the advertising field. Needless to say, Emma has to get away, sort through her life and grieve for her beloved relative. She finds some solace at her late grandmother's animal rescue farm, which she now owns.

Shep Blackshaw is a powerful cowboy from a wealthy, yet down to earth family. When his father dies, their family's cattle ranch becomes the responsibility of Shep and his two brothers. Unfortunately, the brothers have no desire to continue in their father's footsteps, especially since they are making huge in roads in their own professional lives. For example, Shep's survival company just recently received a huge government contract.

Emma and Shep meet at Kinky Spurs, a local bar where Emma is working part-time. They share an immediate attraction and longing which cannot be denied. In a very short period of time, they are each other's soulmates.

I liked this hot read. If you enjoy stories with an alpha male, sex scenes with a bit of kink, and a heroine that comes full circle, then pick up a copy of this book. Overall, this is a must read for anyone that likes an engaging love story in cowboy country.

Dirty Talking Cowboy
By: Stacey Kennedy

📚💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕📚

Well let me start by saying I have become a huge fan of this Stacey Kennedy. I’ve also watched her writing get a bit more intense with each book written. Not saying her other work isn’t great just with each book the intensity and emotion put and pulled from each book is felt so much more. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.

Emma Monroe has returned to River Rock, Colorado, after the death of her grandmother. Now she’s inherited a farm full of abused animals and she’s working as a waitress at the local hotspot, Kinky Spurs. The last thing Emma wants in her life is a man, as she’s still recovering from a recent heartbreak. But when a sensual and powerful cowboy, Shep Blackshaw enters her life, Emma begins to want things she shouldn't.

Shep knows sex shouldn’t be on his mind. He’s got a world of responsibility on his shoulders. He’s attempting to save his late father’s cattle ranch, Blackshaw Cattle Company, from foreclosure. But Emma’s heated reactions to his touch make ignoring her impossible. She’s the perfect distraction to make him forget that his father’s company is a sinking ship.

While their nights only heat up, soon emotions become tangled into the mix. Shep’s not only giving Emma the hottest nights of her life, he’s also healing her heart. With every encounter, she forgets her heartbreak. With every naughty adventure, she stops mourning the life she left behind. And with every dirty word whispered from Shep’s mouth, she stops thinking of all the reasons why she shouldn’t fall for him. But when the past comes to claim Emma, she’ll need to choose between the life she thought she wanted and the life she’s grown to love with Shep. How will she say no to forever with a dirty-talking cowboy.

I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

4.5 Stars
This is the first book in her new series and I'm hooked! What could be better then dirty talking cowboy with a heart of gold. I just loved the characters. Emma and Shep had so much chemistry, but you could feel the connection between them. Things between Emma and Shep get very steamy. What I loved about this book is I got a good heart warming story along with my heat. Emma is pretty much at her lowest and her Grams has one last gift to give her granddaughter. I can tell you I already love the town and I know this series is a winner because I'm already thinking about the secondary characters' stories yet to come. I can't wait for more from this series!

Sexy cowboy with a great big heart. That's Shep in a nutshell and it's impossible not to fall a little in love with him. This first Kinky Spurs novel introduces the characters of River Rock, Colorado and they are certainly an entertaining bunch.
Shep and Emma's romance is steamy enough to melt the paint off the walls even when they're both determined that they're not in a relationship. Both have been burned by love before, so neither wants anything serious. Of course, with their chemistry, serious is certainly bound to happen. This pair does see some drama by way of meddlers and an ex, but the biggest problem for Shep is the need to save the family business. Emma has some important choices to make too, but overall, the angst level is pretty low.
The only drawback for me was that almost every intimate scene was pages long and there were a number of them, which became repetitive after a while. That aside, the story and likable characters did hold my interest and I will be checking out whatever comes next for this series.

Dirty Talking Cowboy is the sort of story that you can just lose yourself in. The characters are engaging and likable; there was minimal angst and whilst the storyline was a little predictable, it was light, easy, sexy and I enjoyed it. I will certainly pick up the next book in the series.

Hot and dirty talking cowboy, rebuilding your heart and life for both characters. This book is small town romance at its best, makes an anglophile like long for a town and ranch like these two frequent. I really felt for Emma as she went through a lot of heartache before she came to River Rock and then just as your rebuliding and getting your confidence back wham it all gets dragged back into your life. And Shep, not the normal cowboy i have found myself reading but one who is a whole lot more, i love how deeply he cares about others and not just himself. The passion he feels for Emma, and the company make him all the more endearing to the reader. First book in a series that i would gladly read more of.

Stacey Kennedy has written a refreshing story that has a lot of heart and the perfect amount of heat. Sexy and rugged blended perfectly with sweet and romantic.

Emma is a city girl through and through. She had a high-profiled job and lived in New York. To move on after a failed relationship, there is no better plan than picturesque River Rock and the hobby farm she has inherited from her grandmother.

The hero, Shep Blackwell, was a very sexy and alpha cowboy who had a very romantic streak that made this book sigh worthy! Stacey Kennedy always brings out the sexiness in her characters. I also loved how Shep was there for Emma to help her with learning the ropes of running a farm that was also a sanctuary for abused animals. The two of them together were off the charts hot. They were truly the perfect complement to each other. They both wanted to explore what was between them. Their chemistry felt genuine and while the plot was predictable the characters made it enjoyable.

Both Emma and Shep were developed as well rounded individuals, with good and bad traits. The dialogue was fun, playful and emotional. Packed with small town life, interesting characters, great family dynamics, real life issues and tender romance, this book is a great start to a new series.

This is the first book in Stacey's new western series and as the title implies, it's sassy and sexy -- you'll love getting to know Shep and Emma - this is definitely not your "old time western cowboy" story!

This is a sweet romance, I liked how Shep and Emma came together and how they took their relationship

I received a copy from Netgalley and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion

From the title of this one right through the prologue, this book was set up to give a fun-filled, steamy read – and although this one packed tons of heat and some kink, it also had lots of sweet and a real nice romance to go along with all those sexy times and left me smiling at the end.

I just loved Shep and, after reading this one, the title fit him perfectly! But there was also a whole lot more to him. He definitely knows what he wants and loves to be in control, but what struck me most about him was his outlook on things, especially when it came to his past serious relationship that ended:

“Sara is who she is. I can’t control her behavior. But I can control not allowing that drama into my life.”

Although I did like Emma, there were times when she did get a tad bit annoying when dealing with her recent break-up. She’s been totally burned by her ex, who also happened to be her boss, so I get her taking time away to figure out what she is going to do with her life now that her career has been impacted – but boy I wanted her to have a bit more anger at Jake. With her grandmother passing away and leaving her the ranch, she has the perfect opportunity to regroup and figure out a plan – and then she starts rethinking everything once she realizes that Shep may be just more than a no-strings attached fling.

The writing flowed smoothly and, even though the romance developed quickly, nothing seemed rushed or forced. This was a great start to this new series and I am definitely intrigued by the other characters that were introduced that will be featured in the next installments of this series. I just loved the whole premise of the Kinky Spurs bar and look forward to more in this series.

This was my first time into a Stacey Kennedy book and it turned out to be a pretty good read. While ‘fun, sexy and easy’ may be some of the words that I would use to describe this novel, the quest for love after Emma got her heart broken was also moving and intense.

After losing her job and being betrayed by her ex-boyfriend (and former boss), Emma goes to River Rock, Colorado, to take care of her Grandma's farm. That's when she has her first experience at Kinky Spurs, that's not only the name of the series this book is part of, but also it's the name of the bar where Emma Monroe finds herself working part time.

And it's precisely in that place where she met Shep Blackshaw, our Dirty-talking Cowboy, and tell me if it isn’t the perfect title for this story! Shep is a sexy cowboy who knows exactly what he wants and he’s not afraid to go and get it. And what he wants is Emma in his bed.

The connection they have is hot and heavy, and you can feel it from the first page. When I started to read this book I couldn't help but sweat because of Sheep and Emma’s chemistry. It was off the charts hot! And while the tension is building, and you think the story is taking some direction, the author surprises you with a wicked and funny turn of events.

I loved this book so much, and not only because it's a pulse racing experience but because is also lighthearted and sweet. The author delivers a story from the heart, with the right amount of heat and passion, and showing us, with a highly care for details I must add, the portrait of a world you would want to get lost into. Kinky Spurs is described with such a detail that you will want to go there and take a drink while ogling the Blackshaw guys. The country life, the animals, the family dynamics…, and every piece of this book are special in their own way.

If you're into sexy cowboys, being tied up and good fun in a barn, this is for you. But if you're also happen to be into romantic, sweet and fun books, then go and click the shit out of this novel.

Bring on Shep, the dirty talking cowboy. Emma and Shep have a combustible connection while both being very strong-willed and confident in their professional lives. They are both dealing with loss, Emma’s grandmother and Shep’s father. Emma ends up I River Rock after inheriting her grandmother’s farm. This comes at a perfect time when her perfectly crafted NYC life is shattered, she returns to the one place where she found solace, love and freedom to heal. The last thing she wants is to hook-up with a man but an abused horse puts her directly in Shep’s path. Shep is a fixer but the one thing he hasn’t fixed is his heart. Seeing Emma at Kinky Spurs one night, well, maybe his heart is working. The sexual chemistry is off-the-charts and delicious to devour. Add in the Blackstone Brothers, Chase and Nate, for the brotherly ribbing and more sexy cowboys to enjoy. The big challenge, will Emma find a new life to stay in River Rock or will NYC call her back. Dive in for every sexy, sultry moment to find out. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
