I absolutely loved this book. It was such an amazing love story. I like when the lead woman in romance novel is head strong. She is in a relationship because she wants to me not because she needs it. I really liked Hannah's character. She goes through things we all do. Self doubt, will someone ever really love me. I love how just a few thoughts can really make a person come to life in a book. Well at least for me. It reminds me that their human. Hannah and Aiden are really sweet. Hannah seems like a person you'd want as your best friend. And Aiden is just a down to earth nice guy whi has a dark past. In a romance book you always want there to be a happy ending. In this book I felt really engrossed in what would happen. It was like they were my friends and I was routing for them right along side! I would highly recommend this book!!! |
The great storyline and wonderful characters made this book a very enjoyable read! This was the first book that I have read by this author and it definitely will not be the last! |
This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. It was well written with a good but heartbreaking (at times) storyline. I liked the characters, Aiden and Hannah, who started out as friends of friends and then friends themselves and then so much more. I think they were what each other needed at that time in their lives. I will be reading more from this author! Highly recommend! |

Only With You by Nicole McLaughlin is book four of the Man Enough Series, I have only read book three, Should've Been You. Clearly each book stands on its own even though the previous book had Hannah as a supporting, well, not always emotionally supportive character. Now she gets her story. I wanted Hannah to find her own happiness, but I also wanted her to resolve some of the issues with her twin, Becca. Usually twins are extremely close but not Hannah and her sister. Most of that seemed to be Hannah’s doing, so I just wanted her to grow up as a sibling. Former Army sniper now National Guardsman Aiden King has more than his share of issues too. He is a great listener but not so much a sharer, making his story harder. The road trip was a perfect way for these two to connect. Their relationship journey has more bumps than the actual trip. Together Aiden and Hannah work through some serious issues, that would have needed more time to process in real life. This made the last part of the book seemed like it was rushing to the finish. So while I enjoyed the story, I also wished that it had been longer. |
This is probably one of the best books I have read this year, hands down. It is such a sweet story, something to read at the beach or the pool(which I did). It's a story that you don't want to put down. Priceless. |
Only With You By: Nicole McLaughlin 📚💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕📚 Oh so many feels Well let me start by saying I have become a huge fan of this author. I’ve also watched her writing get a bit more intense with each book written. Not saying her other work isn’t great just with each book the intensity and emotion put and pulled from each book is felt so much more. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills. This was easily one of the best books I’ve read in a while. But the author will pull so many strong emotions from the reader it was so heartbreaking. These two people Aiden and Hannah are so lost and not sure where the belong. This book is very organic in its slow love story full of kindness, understanding and love. Authors Blurb: National Guardsman Aiden King has been attracted to Hannah Walters for a while, but he never made a move because of her close relationship with his best friend. But when circumstances change, Aiden is surprised when his friend gives his blessing. Problem is, there’s a reason he’s still alone after all these years, and as much as he wants her, that secret keeps him from acting on his desires. Hannah has finally decided to wait for the kind of love you read about in books and see in movies. After her failed engagement, Aiden’s unassuming support has become a touchstone for Hannah. It soon becomes apparent that he may be exactly the kind of man she’s been looking for. But the closer they become, the more he keeps her at arm’s length. When Aiden suggests a road trip to take Hannah’s mind off her troubles, the two of them go on a journey neither one expected. She just hopes that the final destination is them together for good. This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic. Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕 |
ONLY WITH YOU by Nicole McLaughlin is book Four in the Man Enough series. This is the story of Aiden King and Hannah Walters . I have read the previous book but feel this can be a standalone book. Hannah has moved forward to hold off for love just like her sister found with her best friend Jase. Aiden has always liked Hannah but didn't want to step on any toes since his good friend Jase was close to Hannah...but now that has changed. Only there is now something with him that is holding him back. Really enjoyed seeing their relationship play out. |
Only With You is a seductive, slightly emotional read with characters that I really enjoyed getting to know. Ms. McLaughlin's voice is heartfelt, easy to understand, and straight forward. She tackles a very serious topic with amazing compassion, yet never loses sight of the sexual desire between the two main characters. This novel is the fourth book from her Man Enough series, and it can be read as a standalone. Hannah Walters loves being a third grade teacher, yet she is concerned that she is not making the most out of her life. She decides to focus on herself and be the best that she can be. Being in a relationship has not worked out for her so far, so she has decided to wait for true love to come knocking at her door while she dabbles in travel, spends time with her sister, and readjusts to various happenings in her life. Bar owner and National Guardsman Aiden King, has always held a torch for Hannah. However, her friendship with one of his best friends, along with his traumatic childhood, has held him back from making a move. It is Hannah's assertiveness that shifts their relationship forward. Their flirting evolves into much more and overtime, they fall in love. This is a well-conceived novel with an engaging plot and interesting characters. I found Hannah and Aiden to be intelligent and real, and I admired how they supported each other through both thick and thin. Hannah's pushiness was annoying and at times, which left me exhausted. The sexual tension and build up was passionately executed. Overall, this is an exciting novel that twists and turns in all the right places. Life wasn't going as planned. Nothing felt right anymore. Everything has changed and my world has shifted. Then he sparks something in me. I thought we were just friends but now I want more. I thought he did too. This author shows that real love is sometimes bitter. There are sometimes things that can get in the way if it's allowed. But she doesn't let it go at that. This book is filled with emotions. . . so many emotions. Loss, lies, abuse, fear, anger. But what do you do when the man you want, the only one you will fight for, thinks he isn't worth the battle. This isn't insta love, this isn't pretty and easy love. This is the kind of love that makes life bearable. This is the kind of love that once it's ignited the flame will only burn brighter and stronger. This is the kind of love that is only with you. This author takes us down a road we hadn't expected and adds gut wrenching punches that keep you invested in the characters. They are scarred. They are imperfect. They deserve love. They do love. They heal. I love how deep their love goes and how the author handles a topic that's sensitive especially for men. An amazing read with characters you can relate to and just want to love up on. I haven't had the chance to read the other books in the series yet but had no problem picking up and understanding what I missed in the previous books since they are standalones with carryover characters. |
"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review." Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend! |
This is a good story, I liked Aiden, the ex sniper/barman even though he had a few issues, I didn't care much for Hannah at first but she grew on me, however, I thought that there was something missing, I just don't know what, I can't put my finger on it. I received a copy from Netgalley and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion |
I have totally loved this series by Nicole McLaughlin. I knew she might have a tough time with this one based on the response to the heroine, Hannah, from the last book. Hannah had made a comment to her sister when they were younger that had a huge negative impact on her sister's life. Personally, I had a similar experience growing up with my sister and could totally relate. Hannah's sister, just like mine, had no idea how far reaching the negative comments were. It was addressed briefly in this book and then Hannah moved on. Hannah was fairly selfish in the other book, but really finds herself in this one. She starts a relationship with Aiden and discovers quickly that he has some sort of issue that will definitely make a sexual relationship with him difficult. Aiden is a very likable character. He's screwed up and he knows it, but tries really hard to protect Hannah. At times it is gut wrenching what he has and is going through. Hannah grows up enough to try to get him help and stand by him. The end isn't all sparkles and glitter--it's much more realistic. Ms. McLaughlin did a great job of handling a very difficult subject matter. |
Brace yourself - this romance deals with some heavy themes. Aiden and Hannah are clearly drawn to each other, but Aiden has deeply troubling issues that keep him from opening up to the possibility of a relationship. Hannah has never really fallen in love, but she thinks that Aiden just might be the one to change all that. Hannah's determination to hang in there and not let Aiden walk away was sensitively and beautifully handled. The issues haunting Aiden - secrets surrounding his mother, uncle, and grandmother - are not glossed over nor are easy answers found. I loved the refreshingly honest and painstakingly slow approach to overcoming these issues, and the way the author handled the intimate scenes was brilliantly restrained yet deeply revealing. I don't want to spoil the secrets of this book, but be warned this is no light and fluffy rom-com. It's a beautiful love story, focusing on patience and trust, and I loved every bit of it. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book through NetGalley. |
*I received a copy of Only With You from Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review** Only For You by Nicole McLaughlin is the fourth book in her Man Enough series. This is Hannah and Aiden's story and why he is so distant there is a touchy subject so be prepared. After reading this I can see why their story was hard to write as it deals with the worst kind of abuse there is. It can be read as a stand alone or with Becca's story Should've been you as Hannah is her twin. Hannah Walters has decided to give men a rest for a year after a bad break up from her fiance. But she was also the sister you hated in the previous book. But while staying at Jase's home on their National Guard week-end, Aiden and Hannah end of trading phone numbers and texting each other. When they begin to go beyond friendship he puts the brakes on which leaves her wondering if there is something else going in within Aiden's tortured soul. Aiden King has had a slight crush since meeting her at Jase's but he also has a heart breaking secret plus PTSD from being a Army sniper while deployed. He owns a bar that he loves cooking for and has a grandmother in failing health. But when she passes away suddenly , Aiden decides to search for the mother he never knew. So he offers Hannah a road trip that will take them to Colorado and Wyoming to find her. But what he finds is not only does he have secrets but his mother does as well. Can Hannah help him on the path of healing his heart and soul while connecting with his mom and half sister? Hannah must also learn that she must soul search her own heart while Aiden seeks the help he needs to become the man she loves. |

This was not the typical romance that I was expecting. Aiden and Hannah have known each other casually, but connect on a friendly level after Hannah's broken engagement. Their relationship is truly a friendship that evolves. Aiden tries to keep Hannah as a friend, rather than expose a secret he's kept for most of his life. Parts of their story were difficult to read (because they were just so real - not that the book was hard to read.) I loved that Hannah really helped Aiden towards the end and that they were able to get their happy ending. This was my first time reading anything by Nicole McLaughlin and I'm looking forward to more from her. |
This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy. When I started this book, I did not realize that this was book 4 and that I was starting to remember reading book 3 with Jase and Becca. This time Hannah starts a friendship with Aiden not really looking for more with him. Later they see the attraction between them but Aiden cannot bring himself to tell Hannah about the abuse that he suffered as a child that has kept him from having sex. He did tell her that he was a virgin but not all so Hannah is confused as to why she isn't enough for Aiden. Hannah is such a great friend during this whole time and goes with him to find his mother and a sister that he didn't even know he had. Lots of past secrets that haunt Aiden and his mother which helps him understand why she didn't want to stick around but did try to get custody of him but the grandmother objected. Lots for them to work through but they both realize that they love each other and are worth the effort to make a relationship work between them. Glad they got their HEA. |

This was a pretty good romance. Here is what I liked: the characters, the writing style, the setting. What I didn't like the preoccupation with sex. I understand that the subject matter was sensitive and so a certain amount of it was in the plot. It was a bit to graphic for my taste. That being said, the characters were likeable. I liked how Hannah grew as a person, emotionally. Aiden as mysterious and somewhat dark with his secrets. The writing style was engaging and kept my attention. The story moved along nicely and it was a nice escape. The subject matter could be difficult for some people depending on their own history. |
I have read both this book and book #3 in this series and with each of them you can read them as a stand alone, though I find it's more enjoyable to read as a series. Aiden has a lot going on in his mind that he has to get through. Is Hannah enough to help him through everything? Hannah is also going through things though not as much as Aiden. Can aiden help her also? I liked how the author eases into how Hannah helps Aiden. It's not a sudden thing, it takes time, months actually. The book is a quick read but you don't feel like the story was rushed. Hannah think redeems herself in this book and Aiden is finally able to help get over his past. This was a great book to end with the 4 friends. |
National Guardsman and Army Sniper Aiden King appears tough as they come. But his imposing, athletic build and wilderness man appearance hide his true nature, a gentle, kind-hearted man in search of redemption. And even though school teacher and estate sale junkie Hannah Walters promised herself a year without emotional attachments, she can’t help falling for this smoldering caldron of temptation. Aiden has had his eye on Hannah for a long time. He has his reasons for keeping his feelings to himself, but now that she seems genuinely interested in him, maybe it’s time to explore the possibility of a relationship. This is where it gets complicated. Aiden’s past won’t stop haunting him, and Hannah is on the rebound from a failed relationship. What good can possibly come from this emotional train wreck in the making? Book three or McLaughlin’s Man Enough series is an on-again, off-again emotional rollercoaster where two people, damaged from past experiences, find solace in each other. Aiden’s quiet, brooding persona plays nicely with Hannah’s extroverted, no-filters exuberance. The cast of family and friends adds depth and drama to the already engaging plot. And McLaughlin's unexpected finale is, hands-down, my favorite of all time. No peeking! |
3.5 Stars. This is the 4th book in this series about four friends who are in the National Guard. I have only read one of the other books, and as each is a standalone, I did not feel as if I missed anything. Aiden is the H and boy did he have a story. This was not a light and cute rom com by any means, but it was a very good contemporary read. This book has a heavy theme but I was rooting for Hannah and Aiden the whole way. I’m glad I read it and thought the author handled the subject very well. |
