Deep Cover was a really great read and by far my favourite of the series. As not only did I love the mix of suspense and romance. But I really liked the two main characters Amy and Cabe. As they were both extremely well developed and relatable. Especially Amy with all her struggles being a female FBI Agent and working in a predominantly male environment and having to deal with all that entails. Which in Amy's case, unfortunately meant sexual harassment. Then having to essentially deal with the same issues whilst undercover, and I really loved not only how Amy dealt with it. But Cabe too, who always saw Amy as an equal and completely respected the job she did. Even though there were moments where Cabe struggled with it, and that was great to read.

Not to mention, I loved how the suspense slowly built as the story progressed and how well Amy and Cabe both worked together. And with the action towards the end, that had me on the edge of my seat. Plus, moments of fun as Six valiantly tries to organise his wedding to Louisa. This story had me hooked from the start and I would happily recommend it to others.

Captivating! This author captured action, suspense and romance. Well written with danger lurking around each corner. I would love to see a sequel to this book. Each ex-Seal had his own story and the outcome for each let me laugh and cry. Up to the end I wondered if Cabe and his ex-Seal buddies would be able to get Amy and the others off the ship, or if the ship would blow up with all onboard. This book was given to me for an honest review.

As much as I anticipate the beginning of Scarlett Cole’s series’, I dread their endings. But like all good things in life, I know, that they too must come to an end. “Deep Cover” is the third and last book of Cole’s “Love Over Duty” series. The three ex-SEALs who have turned their know-how and expertise into a security business and who have found love and passion in the process, it is a remarkable series full of excitement, intrigue and steamy passion. Cabe was the one who had lost the love of his life and who seemed like he would never again find another. Well, it seems that fate has given him a second chance in love and thrown Amy in his path. But will Cabe give love a second chance? Especially when he fears that loving a woman who is ready to throw herself in danger can only bring him pain and heartache?

Cabe Moss lost his fiancée when she was on duty in Afghanistan. He still lives with her memory and can’t even fathom ever falling in love again. And never with someone whose job can take her away from him at any moment. That is until he meets FBI agent Amy Murray. They have to work together to finally bring down the Russian crime ring which has been alluding Eagle Security and law enforcement since the beginning of the series. Amy Murray is on a mission to find a group of missing women. The last thing she wants or needs is to fall for the hot ex-SEAL whom she has to work undercover with. And even though they keep telling themselves that they have to wait for the mission to be over before crossing the line, it seems that that is easier said than done ;)

As exciting as the previous two books of the series, “Deep Cover” also manages to pull at our heartstrings with its poignant backstory of a love lost. We also have a strong heroine who fights back against sexual harassment in the workplace while having to literally feel guilty about being an attractive woman in a world which is predominantly male.

An exciting and fitting end to a beautiful series. Can’t wait to see what Scarlett Cole has in store for us next!!!

Sometimes you want the greatest stakes in your book to be whether or not the brother discovers his little sister and best friend are involved in a friends-with-benefits-turned-real-love situation…and sometimes you want those stakes to be whether a pair of special ops-FBI lovers can take down a crime lord who runs a money laundering/gambling/and trafficking operation. If you’re looking for the latter, this book is for you.

I’m a big fan of romantic suspense, but this is my first time encountering Scarlett Cole. DEEP COVER hit all of my requirements: a strong, capable hero and heroine with satisfying character development, a thrilling, smart plot, and a sexual attraction that can’t be denied or contained.

Cabe Moss is a rugged, sexy part owner of said special ops firm, and he’s two years out from the loss of his fiancé and presumed love of his life. Amy Murray is an FBI agent who’s recovering from losing her mother at a young age—she’s still missing—and being the victim of sexual harassment at her previous FBI post.

When they meet, the attraction is immediate, but Cabe is lost in mourning/remembering his past love, and Amy is wary of damaging her work reputation even further and ruining their present mission.

But like in all the best romance novels, the attraction can’t be suppressed forever…

DEEP COVER is a little more emotionally heavy than my usual romantic suspense fare—it had to be, given that one of the characters is recovering from losing the first woman he thought he’d spend his life with—but there’s a well-researched and taut plot, secondary characters who have captured my interest (*I’m going to go look for their books right now*), and a badass hero and heroine who are fiercely committed to the job and drawn to each other in a way that can’t be ignored.

This won’t be my last Scarlett Cole book!

Deep Cover is another hit in Scarlett Cole’s Love Over Duty Series!

Cabe Moss is an ex-Navy SEAL and one of three owners with his best friends of Eagle Securities. Two years ago, his fiancé was killed and he’s still dealing with her loss. While out with his friends on what would have been his fiancé’s birthday, he meets a woman at the bar. It’s the first time he’s really noticed another woman since his fiancé’s death, but he leaves before anything can happen.

Little did he know she’s an FBI agent and that they would end up having to work together on a case. His security firm is trying to take down a possible money laundering scheme and the FBI is working a case about missing women employees at the Lucky Seven Casino. The two cases may be connected so they are working together.

Amy goes undercover as a dealer at the casino to try and find out what happened with the missing women while Cabe and his team are doing surveillance/getting intel in the money laundering side of things.

As the two spend more time working together, it’s gets harder to keep things professional between them. The chemistry is hot between these two!

But the stakes are getting higher in the case and danger is just around the corner. Amy has found herself in a very dangerous situation and time is running out to save to her.

With hot romance, suspense and a story that kept me turning the pages, Deep Cover was a very entertaining read!

Cabe had me falling for him right from the start. This is a great story that I devoured and reccomend

Great storytelling at its best! There is a cinematic quality to the writing that draws you into the story. I love when I have a clear vision of the characters, their surroundings and the action. Amy and Cabe are a killer couple who are both badass. I loved their journey together as a couple and the bitter sweet moments that the reader shares with Cabe as he lets his past go. I can't think of how the story could be improved.

This was a great addition to this series. I can't find any info about whether this series is definitely over. I'm assuming it is, as the ongoing suspense plot was finally completed in this book, but I really love some of the side characters, who work for the hero's security company. I hope we'll see them again one day!

Cabe Moss was a Navy SEAL, and now he runs a private security firm with his 2 best friends. They've been investigating a money laundering operation since book 1. The op included investigating many other crimes that were all connected, like kidnapping, attempted murder, etc. They are now on a joint task force with CIA and FBI to continue the investigation, which is now linked to some missing women, who were all employees at a local casino. Cabe has had a rough go of it. His fiancee was active duty Army, back when he was still in the Navy. 2 years ago she was killed in action, and he's never quite gotten over it. And he definitely hasn't been interested in ever having that kind of relationship again. But when he meets the FBI agent working undercover with him, will he change his mind?

Amy Murray comes from Las Vegas royalty. Her dad is a world-famous poker player, and her godfather is the pit boss at Caesar's Palace. She grew up in Vegas around casinos. Her mom went missing when Amy was just 10 years old, and she was never found. This drove Amy to become an FBI agent, and most of her focus has been on missing persons cases. This one is particularly rough. A number of women have gone missing over the past few years, and they all link back to a casino they worked for in California. She's already been working the missing persons case, when she is tasked to go undercover in the casino as a dealer, due to her extensive knowledge and skill. She had a bad workplace sexual harassment experience in her past, so she has no plans to ever get involved with anyone at work, so no one ever has reason to question her credibility. When Cabe enters her life, it shakes her up, as she can't seem to keep herself from falling for him.

Cabe and Amy's chemistry was evident from the start, and I loved how drawn they were to each other. They both had their own pasts and issues that had to be worked through before they could even consider how to be together. I really felt that these were all handled in a very realistic way. They had such an attraction, but neither of them were entirely sure what to do with it in their difficult situation. Cabe was still feeling some guilt over moving on. Amy was worried about getting involved with someone she was working with. I loved how honest and real they were with each other about their issues, and it made them even more comfortable and open with each other in the long run.

The suspense plot has been partially ongoing since book 1, and I really enjoyed this final part, and how it all came to an end. It was exciting all the way through, and having Amy in her undercover job made it even more so. I really liked how close both main characters were with their families as well. It's always nice to see how the character's family situation informs their life and decisions in various ways. Amy was a strong heroine, and I loved her attitude and commitment to her career. Cabe was an awesome hero, and he really came through for everyone in his life, in so many ways.

I loved this whole series, though book 1 was definitely my favorite. It was great romantic suspense series, with exciting scenarios, and fantastic characters you could love so easily. I highly recommend it, and this author in general!

Deep Cover is the first in the series for me and grated I would have benefited abit from reading the first two with having a better background on not only the Eagle team but the bad guys as well. However I feel it didn't hinder my ability to enjoy and follow along with the book and Enjoy Cabe and Amy together.

Cabe and Amy are good together and work well together. I know the Mac and Six have their own books, but honestly with the glimpses of the other teammates, those too could have their own stories. I enjoyed the two working hard together to bring the bad guys down, and finding the women who have gone missing. It was a good book and I did enjoy it. Can't wait to pick up the other two and catch up on the story.

We've gotten to know Cabe, the hero, in the previous two books. He is part of the Eagle Securities team along with Six and Mac, the heroes from book 1 & 2. Amy, the heroine, is an FBI agent and new to the series. We have continued side characters that have been in previous books.

The biggest thing we have learned about Cabe that affects this book is that he lost his fiance while she was on active duty two years prior. I'm a bit conflicted when a deceased significant other is involved. On one hand, I don't want to see a main character pining for anyone other than their love interest in the book. On the other hand, it also shows how the new love interest was able to help them move on when no one else could.

I think the author did a good job of creating a balance with Cabe. He was still mourning his deceased fiance but he also recognized that Amy was different and there was something real there. I also like how the author had each book with their own storyline that ultimately tied all three of the books together. Overall, this is a great romantic suspense series that I have enjoyed.

Scarlett Cole, Author of “Deep Cover” has written a steamy sexy action packed novel. This is not the first book in the series, but can be read as a stand-alone. The Genres for this novel are Fiction, Women’s Fiction and Romance. The timeline for this story takes place within a two-year period, and goes to the past when it pertains to the characters or events in the story.

The author describes her characters as complex, complicated, and confused. Cabe Moss, is an ex Navy Seal and along with several other Alpha type friends often works along the FBI to help solve criminal activity. Cabe is grieving for the loss of his fiancée from two years prior. Cabe and his team are working with the FBI in to entrap certain individual in a major money laundering scheme. During this assignment Cabe meets FBI agent Amy Murray, who is looking into kidnapping and trafficking.

There is a casino that is suspected of money laundering and human trafficking. Amy happens to be a wizard at all casino games, works under-cover there. Cabe and his team are also responsible for Amy’s safety. There seems to be a major attraction between Cabe and Amy .This is a dangerous mission in more ways than one. Will there be more under-cover action?

I received this ARC from NetGalley for my honest review. I recommend this novel to readers that enjoy intense Romantic stories with some danger.

This is the third book in the series and I wish I had known going in. During the first few chapters I felt lost.. So , read the first two books before beginning this one. It took me awhile to get into this book but once I did, I could not put it down. It was also the first book by Ms. Cole that I have read but will go back for more.
There was suspense, heat, and was a slow burn book. Cabe and Amy are perfect for each other, if Cabe can just let his dead fiance go. I kept wondering what would happen next, so it definitely kept me on my toes.

Deep Cover (Love Over Duty, #3) by Scarlett Cole This is the third book in a series and since I did not read the first two it took me a while to get into it. Cabe is a ex-navy seal who suffered the loss of his financee ... partners in Eagle Securities with life long friends Six and Mac. Amy FBI operative ...both working under cover ...There are lots of feelings, danger, sex and of course a HEA.

Deep Cover is book 3 in the series and you could read it as a stand alone, but you will find the beginning a tad confusing as Cole reviews how Eagle Securities got to where they are now. Each book features a different couple, but there is an arc that connects all the books.

Cabe lost his fiancee years ago and has never quite been able to move on. Sure, he has hooked up a few times, but he carries a lot of guilt about it. He meets Amy in a bar and flirts; then feels guilty and bails on her. Soon after they discover they will be on a joint task force going undercover in a casino.

There is a lot I liked about Amy, the heroine. First, she is wicked smart. Second, she has a close relationship with her family. Third, she is dedicated to her job and wants justice for missing women. Finally, she is honest and straight forward. She had to leave her office in Atlanta due to sexual harassment. Her description of what happened is a story many women will relate to. She tried to ignore the advances. Then she tried to avoid the advances. Then she stopped going to places where 'he' might be. Finally, she had to report it and everyone turns on her. She is still dealing with the repercussions-she doesn't like to look too 'pretty' at work; she doesn't want to be perceived as incompetent. She doesn't want anyone to know why she left Atlanta, even though she didn't do anything wrong. Like I said, I think a LOT of women will relate to this story deeply.

I enjoyed the build up of the relationship. Amy obviously doesn't want people to think she is sleeping with a superior. Cabe is still struggling with the death of his fiancee. Both have baggage, but both admit they feel something. They handle it with maturity and discuss things! There are no miscommunications or needless pushing away. Their relationship is bumpy at times because of their past and their present (they are working together on an op!) but it felt believable. I really enjoyed their romance more than I expected.

If you like your romantic suspense to have intelligent, capable heroines, bruised but brave heroes, and just enough danger to keep you engaged, Deep Cover is a great pick!

I've never known so much about gambling until this book. Cole really did her research on poker, shuffling, casinos and dealers. Very impressive. The casino conducting business as a money launder might also be involved in human trafficking. The Eagle Security firm, Cabe specifically, works with the FBI, Agent Amy, to find missing women and discover how the casino is laundering money. Everything I enjoy about a suspenseful romance was here: the intensity, the zing, the feisty conversation, the action. Excellent storytelling. I'm a fan of Cole and was pleased to get an early copy, my review was written voluntarily.

I am new to Scarlett Cole and did not read the first two books in the series. The good news is that I enjoyed Deep Cover and the better news is that I seldom felt lost by starting with book three. There was mention of events from the first books providing perspective but not so much to annoy the reader.

I love that Amy is strong, smart and thoroughly professional. She’s perfectly capable of holding her own in a male-dominated world end even leading a team of male peers. Finding herself working with Cabe doesn’t through her off her professional game. I also loved that she’s a professional level poker player. What a cool talent for a young woman.

Cabe is equally capable at his job but so damaged personally. He’s attracted to Amy during their brief first meeting and, I won’t spoil it by telling you how that goes, but he’s got to deal with a lot before he can proceed with Amy. He fights his desire and ultimately fails but finds it’s time to move on and let Amy in.

In typical romance fashion, the two can’t delay acting on their attraction until they’re no longer working on the same case. This I found unprofessional but not out of the realm of possibility.
I like the characters. The writing was very good and the story well-paced. I always enjoy a suspense element so this book was quite enjoyable.

I didn’t like Deep Cover when I started reading it. But, the more I read Deep Cover, the more I realized that I judged the book by the first chapter. This book is so much more than Amy and Cabe’s relationship. I enjoyed the plotline about the missing girls. I enjoyed reading about Amy’s time undercover as a card dealer at a casino. I enjoyed how I was kept on the edge of my seat when Amy went off the grid.

Deep Cover is not a stand-alone book. You do need to read the first two books of the Love Over Duty series to understand some of the backstories. The author did a great job of doing catch up in the first couple of chapters. I would recommend reading the first two books before this one.

The romance between Amy and Cade was slow-moving. I felt that the romance came after the sex, as weird as that sounds. While Amy was sexually attracted to Cade, I didn’t get any sign of a romance between them. Because Cade was holding back. It wasn’t until after Cade went to Jess’s grave that I felt the romance came into the book.

Speaking of sex, Amy and Cade had red-hot sex. Sizzling sex. Steaming up the screen of my Kindle sex. I loved it because Amy was a good sexual match for Cade.

The storyline involving the missing girls was fantastic. I enjoyed reading about Amy going undercover at the casino. I also enjoyed reading about it on Cade’s end. How he was trying to get into the inner circle of Popov through gambling. I loved it when Woods started grooming Amy to go on the boat. I knew that something was going to happen. When stuff went down, it went down exactly how I thought it was going to happen.

I did have an issue with how Cade treated Amy after they started sleeping together. He went hot and cold with her. I didn’t blame her for getting mad. If I were her, I know that I would have smacked him upside the head. Thankfully Six verbally did that to him. Made Cade see that treating Amy the way he did was not cool.

The end of the book was action packed. From the moment that Amy was on that boat, I didn’t expect it to be anything but. I loved how Cade came through for her. I also loved the epilogue. I might have cried a teeny bit.

What I liked about Deep Cover:

C) The suspense!!!

What I disliked about Deep Cover:

A) Not a stand-alone book

B) Slow moving romance

C) How Cade treated Amy after they started sleeping together

I would give Deep Cover an Adult rating. There is explicit sex. There is language. There is violence. I would recommend that no one under the age of 21 read this book.

I would recommend Deep Cover to family and friends. I would also reread this book.

Deep cover was incredible mix - thriller meets romance. I love these kinds of books..they have you sit on needles the whole time and still be afraid of what happens next. For those who loves to chase criminals, it's definitely the right read.
The plot deals with more criminal cases entwined in one another. Human trafficking and money laundering. What an brilliant idea to put these both together and the best? The growing love.

Former SEAL, owner of security agency, who is lost in the feelings and sadness of his past, meets FBI agent on a mission. Finally she helps him to wake up from his funk and althoug they can't be more than colleagues while on mission, he sees the very light at the end of a tunnel. He sees he can try and maybe love again.

She wants to habe the same love her parents once shared. The chemistry between the two of them is totally spinning out of control. Le sigh!

So what can I add more? Absolutely not a thing.
Maybe just say, it was another exceptionally well written story from Scarlett Cole's pen and could be read as standalone.
I truly loved every second.

Suspenseful and full of chemistry, this is an exciting read with a great romance, and I loved it!

The third and final book in the Love Over Duty series, this is the story of Cabe Moss, the last of three friends featured in this series. Cabe and his two best friends grew up together, were SEALs together, and then started Eagle Security, leading a team of badasses on all sorts of badass missions. Cabe has watched his two buddies fall in love and find their HEAs, which brings home to him all that he is missing out on. It’s been two years since his fiancé was killed while she was serving overseas, and though he still grieves her and knows he’ll love her forever, he’s beginning to feel like he wants the kind of happiness that his friends have found.

Amy Harris is a strong and determined FBI agent. She left her last job after being sexually harassed by a superior, and then enduring taunts and gossip. Her fresh start in San Diego sees her continuing an investigation that is very close to her heart – those of women going missing. The case of the missing women appears to be tied in with a money laundering scheme, and all evidence points to a local casino. In a joint effort, the CIA, FBI, Police Department and Eagle Security (due to their previous encounters with the bad guys) team up to investigate, with Cabe and Amy being the ones chosen to go undercover in the casino to figure out what’s going on.

From the very beginning, sparks fly between Cabe and Amy. Their attraction is a palpable thing, but there is so much standing in their way.

“There are reasons, really good fucking reasons, why you and I should keep our distance. There is shit you don’t know about me, about my past. And there’s this case. And there’s everything that happened to you in Atlanta. It feels like a lot. And yeah, I get it feels insurmountable, because I find myself wondering why the hell I’m even considering you and me.”
He took a moment and looked out of the window, up toward the sky.
“But?”
“But doesn’t it feel worth it, Ames?” he asked quietly.


I love the way that, despite their personal battles, they are both so open about what is between them. They admit what they’re feeling and how it’s impacting their work, they talk about all of the possibilities, and I just loved the functionality of it all! And of course their chemistry is off the charts. Their physical attraction is only the beginning of what begins to brew between them as they work together and get to know each other, and real feelings develop, making everything so much more intense until it hits the point where neither of them can hold back any further.

“It’s so hard to resist this. I don’t know how to stop it any more than you do.”


It’s a beautifully developing love story that is seriously hot, and though it has its ups and downs, it’s managed well. Amy and Cabe are very mature, sensible and realistic about everything, they share a mutual respect for each other both as colleagues and as partners, and I loved watching them work through their feelings as they openly accept what they are starting to become to each other – even in their difficult situation.

Because in the middle of it all is the drama of their case. It’s quite involved and there is a lot of detail and book-time dedicated to the mystery/suspense part of the story. There are links with the crime stories in the previous books, which are cleverly intertwined. It’s well-written and kept my interest, and ties in really well with the romance as you can see the two different parts of Amy and Cabe’s relationship developing side by side.

Right now, she needed the SEAL, not the lover, no matter how willing he was to do both.


I really enjoyed this book. It was well paced and well-written with just the right balance of action and emotion. I loved Cabe and Amy as characters, and loved watching everything happen between them.

This was a great read and a gorgeous romance – 4 stars.
