It was an ok book. I was a little annoyed by the cavalier attitude of one of the MCs while still finding the younger MCs attractive. It felt very amateurish. It was a new author for me.

This is a quick, short, and somewhat sweet read, but as far as I was concerned, there wasn't enough character development or chemistry between the two main characters.

If you're in the mood for a short sweet read, with a touch of humor and two characters who are total opposites, but totally perfect together, then Amending Plans will be right up your alley. ;)

Luc is just as described, a tad nerdy, totally at home in his city environment and a total klutz when it comes to anything outdoorsy. Rick was the total opposite, more comfortable outdoors and at home in the woods - the more rustic the accommodations, the better. There was no possible way that these to were even remotely compatible. Yet...

Luc has lusted over Rick for a while, which is why he almost freaks when his uncle suggests that he shadows him. He doesn't want to give Rick a bad impression of him - but impressing him isn't remotely possible. Except that's exactly what he ends up doing, even though he thinks he's totally screwed things up. It's Luc's personality and attitude that eventually win Rick over. Yet, they still have a few minor obstacles in their way to a HEA.

This was my first CM Corett read, but I'm pretty sure that I'm going to be checking out what else she has to offer. Happy reading!

This was a sweet love story about how opposites definitely DO attract. Luc and Rick were great together and their characters were well written and though out. The story was great, loved the outdoorsy setting here. This one was short, sweet, and a lot of fun!

I was excited to read this, but unfortunately the story fell flat for me. There were a few hilarious scenes, but I didn't get a sense of any compatibility between Rick and Luc, the only thing they had in common was being fay and gorgeous. I would have liked to see more character development.

I was looking forward to reading this story a sweet M/M romance and I was disappointed. I didn’t feel as if either main character has anything in common besides both being gay and gorgeous. There really was no reason for Luc and Rick to fall for each other, no real character development. Like most romances there is usually an obstacle keeping them apart and this story was missing that conflict as well. Pretty disappointing overall

What a sweet story. Luc wants Rick bit thinks they are to different of people to make it work. Rick loves awkward Luc but he's the bosses nephew. Can they make it work?

I was keen to read this and the premise was sound, but sadly I felt the story lacked depth or momentum. There were several very humerous parts, the scene with the sprained ankle was hilarious. But overall I don’t feel the characters ever really developed, and I found myself just skim reading to the end.

At one point I thought I’m gonna like this story despite one character being quick to judge and prone to sulk. I kept thinking were this a yaoi manga with overblown drawn scenes - think of those graphic sexy tussling on page! - I might find this more tolerable. (Weird, but that’s how my mind works, I guess.) As it is, I felt “Amending Plans” felt like immature try on D/s dynamics with exaggerated bear slash twink characters.

Rick felt too overbearing and quick to judge. Throughout the story, Luc was forever apologizing and explaining some sort of misunderstanding to him. Rick’s only thought to make amend seemed only focus on brute and his nether region. Bummer. And I thought by the time I reached half portion of the book things would improve. Alas...

In short: it’s cute, but it could be more.

5 Star Review

ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review ...

Luc & Rick’s story is amazing - I was hooked after the first few Chapters !!

These two have immediate chemistry working for the same architectural firm ( the one owned by Luc’s Uncle ) they are thrown together unexpectedly to perform some fairly routine surveyor work. Opposites seem to attract as they could not be more different - Rick is all outdoorsy- muscles & brawn - while Luc is definitely more office environment & is pretty uncomfortable in the great outdoors ....

First dates - instant attraction - Luc is so attracted to Rick he is shy & clumsy - a bit timid till Rick brings him out of his shell...

Really enjoyed this read - great book !!

I really enjoyed this book - it was sexy, sweet, funny and a quick read. Although I knew nothing about cartography and had only used survey equipment once in my life (for an archaeological field school), I still found the content to be interesting.

Luc was absolutely adorable. He was a sexy cartographer and the nephew of the owner, so he always had to be at the top of his game and keep a professional demeanor at work. He was also a klutz, hated the outdoors and of course, that's the situation he gets thrown into with Rick.

Rick on the other hand is a lumberjack-type male who is a surveyor for the company and loves the outdoors and anything 'manly.' He's attracted to Luc, there's no doubt about that, but he finds Luc to be too much of a city boy for him.

When they end up having to share a cabin for 2 days, there is obvious sexual tension, but with only a brief kiss, they leave there as co-workers and friends. However, they can't really stay away from each other and go on a series of dates. Again, it's pretty much a romantic comedy with these two and I loved following their adventures and seeing what Luc was going to do next to embarrass himself.

And the book had a lot of steamy scenes to keep you interested, but they didn't overshadow the rest of the story. But again, they were HOT.

This was my first CM Corett read, but it certainly won't be my last.

Amending Plans is the first opportunity I’ve had to read anything by CM Corett. Straight up I can say, if you’re in the mood for an easy, sweet, short romance this may be the book for you.

Though the story was well outlined and the whole thing nicely edited, there were some thing that just didn’t work for me. I felt like Amending Plans was at least a dozen other novels mashed up and regurgitated into this story. There was nothing really original or heart grabbing here for me.

The themes repeat over and over: differences in their classes, style, and interests - but maybe if they bend a little and try out the other guy’s interests, they can find some common ground to place their sexual attraction on…

The major reason I’m giving this one three stars is due to the way Corett explores their sexual relationship. The way these two gradually recognize their needs, flirting with BDSM and the concepts and sensations of a D/s relationship was very believable and well done. The dominant guy had never hooked up with anyone remotely submissive before and was intrigued with the sensations that brings out in him. The smaller man loves the comfort he finds in submission and it revives his warm memories of being cared for by a strong man. The way they find their way in these new roles was charming and definitely the high point of this novel for me.

The misunderstandings and miscommunications were a bit overdone here for my taste. That these guys weren’t able to be even a bit straight about their feelings early on and that they let such huge gaps in time pass without talking, seemed pretty unrealistic. I know this was part of the plot, but I just kept wishing they would TALK. Plus I really don’t think two men would ride several hours in a car, and spend two days in the wilderness without ever having a simple ‘getting to know you’ chat.

So if you’re in the mood for a short and easy read that’s pretty light on the detailed sexy stuff, then definitely go for Amending Plans. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled to see what CM Corett brings us next.

Harmless and uninteresting story. The setup too pat, the characters unoriginal.
