What a cute book! The illustrations are simple and whimsical all at the same time, and the storyline would get any child excited to take a bath! Sloppy is a sweet little dragon that loves to be sloppy and just doesn't want a bath. His friend, Dewdrop, a little fairy that loves to be clean, tries to coax Sloppy into bathing. Try as she might, he just won't have it! Finally, after being inspired by some little ducklings and their mother, Sloppy decides it is time to become "unsloppy".

My children and I loved reading this book. It was a perfect bedtime story. I will definitely remember Sloppy the next time my two year old doesn't want to clean himself up!

This is a sweet picture book about the importance of bathing. The illustrations are really lovely. Overall it is a sweet story, but not a terribly memorable one. It doesn't break any new ground, if anything the gender dynamic seems a bit tired. Sloppy doesn't want to take a bath, but Dewdrop the fairy won't hug him unless he get's clean. Then he has to model behaviour for some ducklings. I like ducklings. I like dragons. But a week after reading this I had to relook at the book to remember anything beyond the premise.

Sloppy is a tree dragon, and as anyone who knows anything can tell you: tree dragons love being mucky and do not mix well with water. Unless it's well water...well, maybe. But. Dewdrop is a fairy and as anyone who knows anything will also tell you, fairies do not hug mucky tree dragons. So maybe Sloppy will take a bath? But what about sharks and crocodiles? But what about baby ducklings who are afraid of the water? Maybe sloppy can help?

This was a fun book designed to lure kids into the bathtub, and anything that can do that is worth a read! I liked the book. it was fun and boisterous, and colorful and playful. I also liked the characters, and I consider this a very worthy read.

No matter how muddy Sloppy the dragon gets, he does NOT do baths! Cute little Dewdrop tries to comfort and reassure Sloppy not to be afraid and that bath are good and fun! Can she convince Sloppy that the sharks and crocodiles will not nibble his precious dragon toes! This is the perfect book for little ones who may be apprehensive about bath time!

Adorablly illustrated, here are more adventures of Sloppy the Tree Dragon and his little friend Dewdrop. Sloppy likes the mud and muck. Having a bath is a new experience for him and he is understandably apprehesive—at first. There may be sharks or crocodiles in the little pond. Dewdrop convinces him to take the plunge, assuring him there are only fish in the water. Eureka! Sloppy has found a new delight—getting clean and feeling “amazing” by bathing in the pond. And he encourages a few little ducklings to do the same along the way. Five stars for cuteness!

I am an elementary school art teacher and I read to my students all the time. This is a sweet and adorable little book about a dragon that doesn’t want to take a bath. The pictures in this book are beautiful! They are so colorful and fun. Friendship, hugs, and baths-what’s not to like?

I really wanted to like this story book, but it’s just alright. It’s not going to become a classic. I don’t expect my children will request we read it over and over nor do I expect they’ll remember it when they are older and picking books for their children.

It’s about a tree dragon reluctantly taking his first bath.

Fun new twist on the the age old problem of getting someone who doesn't want to take a bath to take the plunge. Dewdrop, the fairy, wants to give Sloppy, the dragon, a hug. But can't. Sloppy is all mucky. As all good tree dragons should be. How can Dewdrop convince her mud-loving friend of the fun and frivolity a bath can provide? Perhaps with the help of some dingy ducklings who also need a bath, Sloppy can finally experience the joy of cleanliness, and that hug from Dewdrop.

This is the cutest book, about a leaf dragon who gets all messy and mucky and goes to give his fairy friend a hug but she won't hug him because he's too dirty - he needs a bath! Sloppy the dragon is a little afraid to take his first ever bath, but when some baby ducklings are scared to go in the water Sloppy very bravely goes first, only to find out that he actually LOVES baths! The illustrations are adorable, the story is involved enough so it's not boring (See Spot. See Spot run. Run Spot, run. ...End book, end!) but simple enough so small children will be able to follow along with it. Probably a great read for any kids who don't like baths (as well as those that love them!)

Sloppy the tree dragon is filthy, but he does not want to take a bath. He does, however, want a hug. But his fairy friend Dewdrop won't agree to one until he is cleaned up.

What's a dragon to do?! Sloppy finally takes the plunge and finds that he actually rather enjoys a bath. Dewdrop is glad to see her friend clean, but doesn't anticipate what's about to happen next.

A sweet story with very cute artwork - for a dragon, Sloppy is very non-threatening.

Sloppy is a young tree dragon, who loves to be dirty and messy. Pigpen from Charlie Brown has nothing on this little dragon! Dewdrop begs Sloppy to take a bath, to which Sloppy says no... until he is denied a hug!

A cute tale, I really enjoyed it! It wasn’t a tale that was dumbed down, or written childishly for the target audience. I think adults would enjoy reading this alongside the children!

The illustrations in this book really stand out--the cover is what initially drew me in. My seven-year-old son read this book to me and his face lit up at key moments, like when he realized the ducklings were just like the "mucky" dragon. When I asked him what the book was about he said "Being brave!"

This was such a cute book! If your child wants to play in the mud and not take a bath afterward--this might be a book for you!

Dewdrop uses a hug as incentive for Sloppy to take a bath, and it was fun watching this dragon inspect the water with a few ducklings to make sure it was safe.

I also loved the illustrations and how there was a giant plug in the lake making it resemble a bathtub. My son really enjoyed this one, too!

*I will post my review on Amazon on the release date.

From the cover alone you can tell how cute this is going to be.
For a fairy that wears rainboots, Dewdrop is big on hygiene, to the point she won’t give a requested hug to a muddy dragon. Sloppy refuses to clean up, but when it comes time to be brave for others, he steps up.
As expected, Dewdrop is the boss here, manipulating Sloppy every step of the way to get the job done. She doesn’t expect the last twist, of course, but that makes everything more fun. The dragon may have his name in the title, but it’s Dewdrop the fairy that steals the show.
Don’t have much to say about the artwork. Nothing stands out, but of course nothing wrong with it either.

This delightful tale will have you smiling. Sloppy, the tree dragon, wants his friend Dewdrop to give him a big warm hug and is a little hurt when she declines to do so. Why would she say no to her good friend? This is why...

Sloppy is covered in dirt, mud, and who knows what else. Dewdrop encourages him to first take a bath and then she will gladly hug him. It is then that she discovers something very surprising. Sloppy proudly declares that he has never taken a bath before and is apprehensive to do so now because sharks or crocodiles might be lurking in the water just waiting to nibble on his toes. Oh my! He's scared!

The two then notice a mother duck trying hard to encourage her baby ducklings to take their first plunge in the water too. The brood is feeling nervous and scared just like Sloppy.

It's Sloppy to the rescue! His kind heart kicks in and he leads the little band of quackers into the water. Together they experience the fun of having a safe bath time together. Sloppy finds out that getting clean is nearly as much fun as getting muddy.

This book is for all the little ones who may fear bath time. I simply love the illustrations. They are very creative and the characters are adorable. They display lots of activity and expression and the fact that Dewdrop always carries a book warms my heart. (She's my kind of girl!).

I highly recommend this book as it is easy to read, great fun to share, and an all round sweet story.

Somewhere along the way, kids go from loving to take baths and splash in the water to not wanting to bath anymore. This book is a cute one to read about the fun of taking a bath. It also is about overcoming fears. The illustrations are cute and the text simple. Overall a cute book to be read to young children, perhaps before bedtime rituals of taking their bath.
