This book has a cute premise, and who doesn't love a hot nerdy librarian lady? I'm also a bit of a sucker for the pretend-relationship trope, but it has to be done in a believable way that doesn't require TOO MUCH suspension of disbelief. This one was done passably well - not the most stellar example I've ever seen, but definitely not the worst either.

The writing style on this reads like it's somebody's first stab at writing fan-fiction. Very clichéd and you can see what's coming next from a mile away. That being said, it is a short, cute, light read. I'm kind of persnickety and read so much that I expect a certain level of ... finesse, for lack of a better word, in the writing of the books I read, and this just doesn't have it. If you're looking for an easy, sparkly read and don't mind some tired clichés and forced drama (how many times does she need to assure the reader and the other characters that lying is never good, "trust me"?) then give this book a whirl.

Lola and Luke meet while she's crashing his 10 year high school reunion with her best friend. It cracked me up that Frankie, the aforementioned best friend, felt like that was the best place for Lola to get out and get over her ex. Of course, if it worked for the Golden Girls, why not?

I really liked Lola and Luke together. They both have struggles and hurt tied to family issues in their past, and it did feel realistic. The resolution did feel just a tad fast, but the plot was cute.

Their friends and Luke's family were funny too. I hope there are more books to come with some of their stories.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

If you are looking for a sweet, heart-touching, lighthearted, and hot romance then this book is perfect for you. It's such a great story, written in a way that it will keep you interested from the very beginning until the end. Also I loved all the characters; Lola, Luke, as well as all the side characters are amazing. I really enjoyed this cute story which made me laugh at times and sigh at others.

Lola's boyfriend broke up with her and she is a mess. So, to cheer her up her roommate decides to crash a high school reunion... One thing led to the other and Lola finds herself agreeing to become someone's pretend girlfriend. What seems like a good idea and the time soon turns into something she will live to regret...

Luke finds Lola attractive. She is such a gorgeous woman and has no idea about it. While talking to her he suddenly comes up with this insane idea... Why not ask her to be his pretend girlfriend? That way he can get rid of his family's constant pestering and also will get to spend more time with her. However, he fears that he might end up biting more than he could chew....

I really enjoyed reading Lola and Luke's story. They've perfect chemistry and their story is quite romantic. It was a quick read for me. I'd definitely recommend this book to romance lovers.

What a fun read!!!! I really enjoyed reading Her Super-Secret Rebound Boyfriend. It had a little bit of everything comedy, romance and some steamy scenes. Luke and Lola might have met in a very unconventional way but when Luke asks Lola to pretend to be his fake girlfriend for his family reunion, they both got more than what they bargained for. Luke might not believe in commitment and Lola is all about commitment but as they get to know each other and spend more time together they both realize that this fake relationship is more real then they think. Lola and Luke are so cute together and I am so happy that at the end they both got their HEA. I really hope that we get to read what happened or is happening between Oliver and Winnie.

This was a very cute and enjoyable story that takes a standard romantic plot of a couple pretending to be a couple for some rather stupid reason and then finding that they should be a true couple. In this novel, the couple are a shy librarian, Lola, who is convinced by her best friend to crash a high school reunion. There she’s caught out by Luke who asks her to pretend to be his girlfriend for his family reunion so he can avoid the nagging by his mom and triplet sisters. Lola, who has no family left, is entranced by Luke’s fun and loving family. You will be too.

The dialogue was enjoyable and they turn out to be a great couple together. You’ll love Lola’s friend Frankie, who maintains that the best advice comes from TV’s “Golden Girls.”

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Luke’s family is after him to have a date at the upcoming family reunion, and he finds the perfect solution to getting his family off his back when he catches Lola gatecrashing his 10 year school reunion. In exchange for keeping her secret he asks her to attend his family reunion as his pretend girlfriend. But things start getting complicated when real feelings come to play into this pretend relation.
I enjoyed every minute of reading this book. It made me smile and laugh. The characters primary and secondary are super cute. I hope there is going to be Winnie and Oliver’s story. Would love to read it.

I really enjoyed Lola and Luke. Lola is struggling after a recent breakup. Luke is struggling to get his family to get off his back about finding someone. Having their fake relationship seems like the best plan. It works for awhile, but as you can imagine things don't stay that way forever. Luke really puts his foot in his mouth, but Lola is strong and fights for what she wants. I appreciated all the landmarks around DC, it's one of my favorite places and I loved that I could have such a clear picture in my head.

I can't tell you how much I loved this story. It was unique in a few ways but my favorite was all the advice from the Golden Girls. I was nervous about that at first but it really added to the story in a new fun way. The writing style is super good. I enjoyed every minute reading. There were lots of fun twists and turns in this romance novel.

In this story, we meet the shy but sweet librarian Lola. She needs to learn to live a little. Her roomie uses the Golden Girls to teach her how to have fun! Then she ends up crashing the high school reunion. She didn't go there nor was it her class year. Then she meets Luke who is back in town after being gone for some time. They suddenly are constantly together. After decides to blackmail the reunion crasher, Lola and make her his fake girlfriend for his family. As you can imagine things get quite complicated.

Due to Lola being an orphan. She falls hard for Luke's family and him in general. Weeks after the blackmail she is still pretending to be his girlfriend. Or is she still pretending?

This was a super fun and sweet romance book. I loved reading it!

Kerri Carpenter's Her Super-Secret Rebound Boyfriend has a great mix of humor and heat. We will be purchasing a copy for our library.

A cute, fast paced story about an accidental meeting that turns into so much more ;)

Sweet, steamy, funny, and cute all rolled into one story.

I thought this was a quick fun read. It was an engaging story that was enjoyable to read. I really loved all of the Golden Girls references as that was one of my all time favorite shows.

The cover is super cute, however I felt that this book came up short in so many way, first off the chemistry between characters didn't quite feel right, second the heroine Lola was not someone I even wanted to be friends with she was just a blah kind of character with no personality. As for Luke he just didn't feel like the right guy for Lola I didn't understand them together. I was left with so many questions with this book.

I LOVED this story. What was unique about it is that it features lots of advice from Blanche, Rose, Dorothy, and Sophia from the Golden Girls and it really worked with this story.

Lola needs to learn to live a little and her roomate and bestie uses the Golden Girls to teach her to have fun. That is how she ends up crashing a reunion NOT of her class or school and where Luke meets Lola. Luke is back in town and his sisters are hounding him to date their friends, so he decides to blackmail the reunion crasher, Lola and make her his fake girlfriend for his family.

Lola is an orphan and well she falls hard for Luke and his family, and so one week turns into two and three and so on. This was a fun and sweet romance and I loved every second of it.

I love fake relationship books but this one wasn't the best. It felt like the only thing in this book was Lola and Luke's fake relationship. They started to get a little bit into personal lives with Lola's lack of a family and Luke's abandonment issues, but those subplots fell flat for me. Because of the lack of subplots and interesting twists, this book just didn't keep me as interested as other books with the same trope. The big "climax" wasn't a big climax at all, so the whole book read like the treadmill when you don't increase the incline during your workout. There weren't any hills to climb!

Also, Lola's naivete almost killed me. She went into the relationship knowing that Luke didn't do relationships and her friend tried to tell her that she was getting too attached, but she did what people do: she thought she could change him. Sure, he ended up changing for her, but the point is that Lola just expected Luke to change without work on either of their parts. His daddy issues run deep, so it took him really examining himself to finally be ready for a relationship. The only person working in the relationship was Luke, and that bothered me.

The book was sweet and the romance was cute, but if you're looking for deep characters and interesting plots, I don't think this is the book for you.

Lola has been dumped by her boyfriend. Lola’s roommate Frankie feels that all of life’s problems can be solved by gleaning the wisdom from The GoldenGirls. Frankie suggests that Lola can her over her ex by going to a random high school reunion ala Blanche, Dorothy and Rose. They go to the reunion, where Lola meets Luke. Luke is a afraid of commitment due to abandonment issues. He convinces Lola to pretend to be his girlfriend at his family reunion to get his mother and sisters off his back. Classic set up for love. As a fan of The Golden Girls, I enjoyed how they integrated lessons from the show to Lola’s life. The characters were sweet, I enjoyed the secondary characters as well. What kept this from being a five star review was the plot was a little thin, and the romance seemed a bit rushed. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A fun romance! Characters are lable and hot, perfect beach read. I do feel the title is too long and makes it sound almost that this is a high school romance versus adults.

This is a fun, quick read that I just loved. All Lola wants is a family of her own, but has an uncanny knack of picking losers. Luke is never going to be in a relationship as he doesn't trust them. They meet when Lola and her friend crash Luke's high school reunion. This novel is peppered with so much wisdom from The Golden Girls that it could have been called the gospel according to The Golden Girls.....Frankie (Lola's friend), uses the show to guide her decisions and to nudge Lola in the right direction.

This book made me smile and laugh, while hoping for Lola to get her HEA. Fans of the genre will love this book and its out just in time to be the perfect beach read.
