If you enjoy action-driven, over-the-top spy thrillers, then you should dive into David Hagberg's series, starring legendary operative (once the CIA director) Kirk McGarvey. Face Off is the 23rd in this very long-lived series, whose hero always survives everything thrown at him, though his loved ones often don't.

This time, Kirk and his fiancee, Pete, foil a terrorist plot against the Eiffel Tower, and investigate the possibility of a missing Russian nuclear weapon, that is when they're not trying to escape a dizzying array of enemies, whose objectives are murky.

You have to totally suspend disbelief to get through these books. If you can do that, Kirk McGarvey's exploits will continue to entertain.

Standard Kirk McGarvey fare from Hagberg. Lots of action and dead people. You know McGarvey will win in the end but not how he gets there. This story revolves around an attempt to take down the Eiffel Tower. Everbody wants to know why McGarvey happens to be ther at the same time to foil the attempt. Even he does not believe in coincedences but that situatin is never explained.

How can I like this book when I am NOT a fan of the serial novel that never ends? Anyway, even with that said this is another thrilling story that try all they want a GOOD book always trumps the movie attempt. Read all in this series you will enjoy them.
