This book for young beginner readers was fun because it teaches about the forest and forest animals while Bea and Eva are on a big adventure. The illustrations are good but I think too many on each page and for beginners too many words as well as that can be distracting and can turn a book to boring quickly. I probably would not buy this book.

I liked how Astro the Alien Visits Forest Animals chose to tell its story. The use of hide and seek was a clever way to move this narrative along. As Ben and Astro tried to find a good spot, they pointed out all the different animals they ran into. When they ran into an animal, they would tell a bit about them. This made it a story that was fun and educational, and I think kids will really like it.

This book has so many cross-curricular opportunities. The crossover between fiction and non-fiction would be sure to engage young children and would be great to use as part of the current topic we are learning in school. I would definitely consider it for use in a future year.

This is a new easy reader series. This is probably an upper level easy reader. The sentences can be a little long, and lots of words on the page. There were lots of animals present, but I never got a feel for Astro. The book is named after him, but he barely shows up. It is mostly the story of Ben and Eva and the animals they find in the forest. Not bad, but not something i would buy for my library.

This is a really cute book (and series). My 3.5-year-old loved it and asked to read more. The pictures are well drawn and colorful. The sentences are simple. It introduces tons of animals. I only wish there were a few more "fun facts" about the animals that are included. I would say my son's age range is definitely appropriate for this series.

Astro the Alien Visits Forest Animals is written by Emily Sohn and illustrated by Carlos Aon.

Within thirty-two pages, this story focuses on Astro the Alien and his friends, as they explore the forest and learn about various animals. Toward the back of the book, there are bonus sections titled as Reading Reinforcement and Word List.

According to a note from the publisher, this series "help early readers build on previous skills; expanding vocabulary and learning more complex concepts. Readers will have fun as they go along on adventures with Astro, Ben, and Eva to learn interesting things about science, geography, and history!"

Astro the Alien Visits Forest Animals is a children's picture book that's geared toward first to third graders.

I liked how “Astro and the Alien Visits Forest Animals” was sci-fi and futuristic, but also taught kids something about the world we live in today. Kids will like it!

This book is about Eva, Been and their alien friend Astro who are playing a game of hide-and-seek. They decide it would be more fun to play the game in a forest so they fly there in Astro's spaceship. While there they encounter several forest inhabitants. I had hoped this would have a little more animal information. For example, when encountering a deer, Eva says, this one was antlers so it is a buck and this one does not so it is a doe. Including the fact that a buck is a male and a doe is female would have been even more informative while still maintaining age appropriateness. I felt the illustrations we're great but the story as a whole had little appeal. I don't think it will hold the interest of my readers but it would be enjoyed as a picture book.

The Astro the Alien series is a Beginning to Read Book published by Norwood Press. I like this series as it is simple to read and filled with a lot of activities and suggestions at the end to help children develop both reading recognition skills and comprehension skills. In this book Astro and his friends Ben and Eva fly to the forest in Astro's space pod. They want to play hide and seek in the trees. While Eva counts, Astro and Ben hide. Because they hide in different places, we are introduced to different animals such as in trees and tree stumps, while Eva finds all sorts of animals instead of finding Ben and Astro. The illustrations were well done. They are bright, colourful and large so you can see the animals clearly. A good book for a family library and primary classroom.

I like the illustrations. They were colorful and Astro is just too cute. I also like how they incorporated a specific set of vocabulary into a hide-and-seek story while also incorporating facts about a specific animal. Suggested activities at the end of the story are also age-appropriate and would also provide other learning opportunities. The story can be read by different ages. However, I hoped the story was more interesting. It was not that appealing. They could have ridden Astro's rocket ship to go to a forest planet and explored, something like that.
