If I have learned one thing as a preschool science teacher, it is that many preschoolers love to explore! Sharing the beautiful photographs and clearly written text about how animals help seeds grow into plants may pique the interest of many young learners, whether as a text during a plants lesson or as a classroom library addition. This series uses text features and scientific vocabulary to show beginning readers that this story is nonfiction. One of my favorite features, though, is the Connecting Concepts page at the end of each book in this series, giving teachers and caregivers the opportunity to extend the lesson. I have mentioned in previous reviews in this series that the contrasting solid color corners are slightly distracting but otherwise SO well done - I always appreciate the opportunity to review work by #MaryLindeen - thank you to #NetGalley and the publisher as well. I think #AnimalsHelpPlants will be the perfect addition to a preschool or early elementary classroom!

Animals Help Plants is part of the Life Sciences series for young readers by Mary Lindeen. Full of beautiful pictures, this installment talks about seeds, and the many ways animals help with pollination processes. Like the others in the series, this one has simple, easy to read sentences, and provides grounding in basic scientific concepts in ways young readers can grasp. The end of the book features a Connecting Concepts section with questions to ask about the reading, and practise with vocabulary and reading fluency. My cubs and I enjoyed reading this book.

Animals Help Plants by Mary Lindeen is a quick reading nonfiction book. The information was easy for children to take in, especially if they had any background with plants and animals. It also gave information that seemed forth right but ones that we had not really thought of, such as animals walking on seeds which helped to bury them in the dirt to grow. Obvious right, but I had never thought of that happening.

The photographs were well-done close-ups with the text in a separate easy to read box. My grandson who has just finished first grade, could read the text with no problems. He especially liked the “Did You know” memos throughout the 30 or so page book. There is a wordlist at the end of the book that I liked as well as two pages with picture charts and other information.

Informative, but also leading to further thought and discussion, this would be a great book for a personal or a classroom library for early elementary children.

The publisher through Net Galley provided a digital ARC. I have voluntarily decided to read and review, giving my personal opinions and thoughts.

This book is great for introducing the relationship between plants and animals to young children. It explains scientific ideas in a clear and easy to understand way. I will definitely consider using this title during science lessons in the classroom for children who are particularly interested in how animals help plants to grow.

This is a useful beginner science book for emergent readers. I could see this being used in Kindergarten to grade 2 classrooms. "Animals Help Plants" is about seeds and how they are moved around, helped by animals, people, and different elements of nature. It uses simple and clear terms to effectively illustrate the interconnectedness of nature. The bright, colourful photography is a great complement to the text. I felt that the title should have mentioned something about seeds -- this is the primary focus of the book.

Highly recommend for early readers. Great start for more difficult material! Good for most elementary grade students.

This is a beginning reader book in the Life Sciences series by Mary Lindeen. It is a great easy to read and understand book about how plants use animals, including humans to spread their seeds as well as other things animals do to help plant growth. The pictures are photographs of the plants and animals in nature engaging in activities that help plants. Once again, there is a limited number of words, many high frequency words as well as the necessary content words. There are suggestions of activities that a parent, caregiver or teacher can do with the child after reading the book. There are questions to ask to encourage conversation as well as suggestions for further reading and research on the topic. My grandson and I had a great discussion during and after reading this book. When we were outside later, he quickly pointed out the "helicopters" that would grow maple trees and the dandelions that he blew the fuzz to spread the seeds. A great book for a primary classroom or a family library where the child is interested in nature, plants and ecosystems.

Animals Help Plants, by Mary Lindeen is an informative book that provides a fun way for children to learn about various animals.

As a part of the Read and Discover Science series, this book encourages children to learn about scientific subjects while working on their reading skills. According to a note from the publisher: "The series can be used with beginning readers to practice high-frequency words, academic language, and to expand comprehension of life, earth, and physical science."

Within thirty-two pages, there are interesting science facts and Did You Know sidebars intermixed with intriguing full-color photographs. Also, there are sections titled as Connecting Concepts and Word List.

Animals Help Plants is a children's non-fiction picture book that's geared toward kindergartners to third graders.

Note: I received this book from NetGalley, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

This is a lovely easy-reader book for young children. Brightly coloured photos show seeds, like a dandelion clock, floating coconut or acorn. We see that animals carry seeds around, in various ways. Animals also help pollinate flowers. Sometimes animals even plant seeds.

The last couple of pages give advice to the person teaching the child to read and understand the contents. A couple of online aids are suggested. The book has 17 pages.
Nature loving starts early and I am all in favour of helping kids understand the world around them and the cycle of life. The only addition I would make is that I would suggest the child plant sunflower seeds in a yoghurt carton and watch them sprout.

I downloaded an e-ARC from Net Galley. This is an unbiased review.

I never thought about some of the ways that animals help plants move seeds. Even though “Animals Help Plants” was intended for children, I still learned a lot from it as an adult! It’s a great book.

I was impressed with this book. While the wording is simple enough, the concepts are well thought out. It could be used with preschool age (perhaps age 4 and up) through first grade.
The images are beautiful and bright.

This book will lead to discussion about different ways plants get pollunated and seeds get planted.
I would use it with daycare or afterschool programs or perhaps in a religious classroom setting or vacation school.

It is also interesting to the adults who would be reading it over and over.
