Georgie is a likeable, believable character in Love Like Sky. Her thoughts and feelings as she navigates the difficulties of her family ring true. A fine story which should appeal to readers of realistic fiction.

Love Like Sky followed the ever changing life challenges of Georgiana, Peaches, Tangie and their friends. They have a "blended-up" family that includes lots of step-mothers, fathers and sisters with plenty of luggage attached to each person. G-baby just wants Tangie to be her big sister, while she is still trying to be the best big sister to Peaches. Things definitely don't go as planned throughout the pages and family challenges meet friendship issues with a beautiful thread of social justice and standing up for what is right when it is important.
The relationships prove to be powerful and important and I loved everything about this story!

Love Like Sky is a charming middle school book. It tackles difficult subjects (divorce, death, police brutality, racism...) but in an age appropriate manner. Love Like Sky would be great for my students (6th grade) because it has a good balance of reality and sadness, but also hope and triumph.

G-Baby (the protagonist) is sweet, and earnest- a kid with whom many of my students would relate. The issues she faces and the choices she makes offer great life lessons to kids of all ages.

This was such an enjoyable book to read. I loved the characters and could empathize with their many dilemmas. Georgie, the main character, has so much drama in her life, like all eleven year olds. She tries hard to make sense of the trauma of families and friends and first loves, like all eleven year olds. She wants desperately to be a good big sister, little sister, daughter, friend, like all eleven year olds. I love Georgie, "Like the Sky."

Positive story of a blended family makes this a delightful read. Georgie grows to appreciate and love her new stepdad and stepsister through a series of events, on being her little sister, Peaches', illness. One sees how a family can work together to create great relationships and a home.

This is a story of Georgie and her “blended-up” families. As she and her sister, Peaches, are becoming used to living in their new home with their mother, new stepfather, and stepsister, they look for ways to stay connected to their father, new stepmother, and friends in their old neighborhood. Things become much more complicated when Peaches becomes very sick and is put into the hospital.

It is a great portrayal of family members trying to make the best of tough situations and make the best choices for one another, while showing that blended families can work together and provide loving homes.
