'Brina the Cat #1: The Gang of the Feline Sun' by Giorgio Salati with art by Christian Cornia is a graphic novel about a city cat who discovers life in the wild.

When Brina moved to the mountains with her owners, there were lots of new things to see and smell. Brina gets away and finds some of the neighborhood cats, but she is found and locked inside her house. Her curiosity leads her to escape again and hang out with the other cats, but what will she find in the outside world? Is it better to be an indoor cat or an outdoor one?

It's a cute story and I think younger readers will like the characters. The art is bright and fun. I liked the different personalities the artist conveys in the cats.

This is an amazing book, the illustrations are incredible. The emotional in every single picture and word it's too strong.

Loved the illustrations. Gang choices were a little scary to approach with my young grandson, but loved the true message about the different interpretations of freedom!

Really a sweet graphic novel about cats and what it means to be free. I thought the art style was quite lovely and very well done- the colors and scenic panels were really gorgeous. The story is cute and I liked the idea of a cat gang exploring the wilderness together. The main theme on what it means to have freedom (and the downsides to those freedoms) was well done and not too preachy. I'd like to think my little fur monster is happy living inside as a member of my family and it was super cute to have a little validation that if she's anything like Brina, she knows the value of a loving and supportive home.

The story of Brina and her short adventure with the stray cats named Gang of the Feline Sun is a short yet a bit remarkable because of the lesson Brina learn in the end. Although it is not mentioned, the importance of spaying and neutering domesticated animals, such as dogs and cats, is a must to avoid cases like Vespucci that was thrown away by his owner because there are too many of them already. Kids 12 and below could learn a lot from reading this one-shot comic book, notably caring and loving for the animals.

An interesting concept and engaging in the beginning but quickly became too repetitive and predictable.

This was such a heart warming and fun read. I mean who wouldn't enjoy an adventure about a cute little cat?
A wonderful story about, love, friendship and overcoming those who pressure you to be someone you aren't.

For those who love the Warriors series and Erin Hunter, you need this new book in your life!!
Brina is a young city kitty, who has found herself getting restless and irate from being cooped up inside all day. She stumbles across a band of stray cats that encourage her to run away to experience “real feline freedom.”
I personally felt saddened by this book, because I relate to the feeling of being trapped somewhere, even if it is by ones you love. I also felt tender when learning about the lives of cats who were abandoned, or abused or even taken away from their mommies when they were little. I’m a temder soul, who loves all cats and wants to provide homes for all cats so... those passages hurt my feels.
Overall, this is a wonderful book to read though!! It gives excellent character development, which isn’t typical for a graphic novel.

I really enjoyed this graphic novel. Brina is a cat whose owners go on vacation to the mountains. While very wary about letting her wander free, they decide to try it. Brina is chased into a sewer pipe by a dog where she meets the leader of the Gang of the Feline Sun. Brina is convinced to become a "free" cat and join the gang. Brina is very excited for the challenge at first, but after a while she realizes that her owners were actually her family. Will Brina make it back to her family before they leave to go home? Read this delightfully illustrated graphic novel to find out what happens.

I like the graphics and the story. I think it will be a good choice for beginning readers or those new to graphic novels.

This family goes on vacation and when their cat starts throwing a tizzy about being inside, they let it out. That annoyed me, because who is the human here??? They were worried about her escaping, and guess what happens?

Brina got a taste of freedom and she went with it. But it is up to her to figure out who her real friends are.

There is one crazy moment where the leader talks about how he came to be injured. He was taken from his boy and put in a bag and thrown in the river. It really made Ivan angry, he told me he will NEVER forgive that man. So, that was a little rough for him to read through. The thing is, that stuff happens. So, not that wasn't a happy moment, and there's another crazy moment, so don't go with real young kids on this one.

But other than that. You know what? Honestly, those humans drove me nuts, I didn't like the one cat, but I still read it all the way through and enjoyed myself. So, it is a good enough story.

Great storyline with memorable characters. The illustrations are completely stunning. This is one fantastic book to read with your children.

As a cat lover, I knew I had to read this book when I saw the cover.

Brina is a city cat who lives in apartment. When she and her owners go on vacation, Brina who craves for adventure wants to try to explore the mountain.
When she's exploring the mountain, she meets the gang of felines.
They told Brina to be a free cat instead of a pet that only follows the owners around.
She goes adventure after adventure with the felines gang and she finally realized that being a free cat doesn't mean she has to be a bad, naughty cat.

This is such a short, cute and heartwarming graphic novel with good moral values for the children and also good illustrations.

This book makes me want to hug and apologize to all of my cats because sometimes I prefer them to be inside the house and I almost never take them out 😐
I just don't want them to get dirty and caught by any disease outside 😕

Brina was an adorable children's graphic novel based on a city cat that goes on a vacation to the mountains with her family. After hunting bugs, and getting a taste of the wild life Brina finds herself wanting more than sitting inside watching nature from the window.

This book was full of adventure, love, friendship, and finding your place in the world. It has some important messages to share, and i feel like this is a great intro to graphic novels for middle aged children. This would make a wonderful addition to classrooms all over the world.

Brina is a sweet little story by Giorgio Salati about a city cat who goes on vacation in the mountains with her people. While there, she goes exploring and after wandering a little too far she meets up with a rough and tumble, straight-up cat gang. They convince her that cats are meant to be free and after a little initiation, Brina becomes a full-fledged feline gang member.

As time goes on, Brina begins to question what it really means to be free, and whether being in the gang is any freer than being owned by people.

The illustrations by Christian Cornia were just delightful, and the story had real heart. There's nothing overly deep here, but it was a good fun read.

Badass Female Character score: 5/5 -- Brina joined a gang, man! Doesn't get more badass than that!

This was a very short comic about an adorable cat who goes to the countryside for the first time and cannot wait to explore but her owners are too afraid to let her go.

This was really short but still very adorable.
The characters were lovely and I had time to feel for them.
The story had some depth and so did the relationships between characters.

Basically, I had a fun time reading this.
