"Aware" is immediately useful. Backed by science and empirical evidence, Siegel gives readers an accessible model by which to deeply begin to understand themselves and find integration and wholeness. What Siegel reveals in incisive ways is something wise humans have naturally sought in spiritual and religious traditions throughout time– practices and worship that is grounded in reflection, awareness of the Divine, self and others, kindness, compassion, and community health.

I used concepts from this book in my classroom. I teach graduate students who are getting their Masters degree in education. The Course is entitled "Teaching the Whole Child". They gained a lot from the material.
