Broken Perfection started quite dramatically with Brianna waking up from a coma and with flashbacks to her preparing to marry her fiancé Kevin. It was pretty clear from the first chapter that he was toxic and controlling and that Brianna fell into the hole of thinking about herself and their relationship in a messed-up way (this included disordered eating among other things). The beginning almost hinted that there might be some thriller-y elements coming but the rest of the book went on at a slower pace and with a bittersweet tone.

I quite enjoyed reading about the characters, although not all of them felt very fleshed out. The writing felt a bit clunky at times and there were overly detailed descriptions of every move the characters took. Being only 168 pages long, the book ended quite abruptly and I thought that it would have been better if the story were longer and its elements more developed.

That being said, it was still quite enjoyable to read so I'm giving it 3 stars.

This is one of the books that made me want to keep reading from the beginning to end. I felt myself holding my breath when the tension was high between the characters. I was surprised how quickly Kevin turned into a jerk and left Brianna when she needed him most.

Anyway, I'm glad Brianna finally find out, let him go (he left before she even could kick him out) and listened to her friends. #friendshipgoals

I got through this book really quickly. The story was good, but the ending was kind of blah for me. I would recommend to someone who wants a quick read.

Another book looking at peoples lives, I have a theme here, but this time when I closed the book the eyes got a bit leaky. However, stuff does happen in the book!!! What stuff, well not telling. I went in the book blind and its the best way to go.

I loved the character of Brianna, she has it all, seemingly too perfect but she’s happy, so we are happy no? Even I might have got a bit relationship jealous. Everything was just right, perfect. But after she wakes up from the coma the cracks are starting to appear.

This may be a short book but boy did I feel all the emotions with it. There was a shock, a lot of anger and even my little heart was filled with joy, then back to despair and hope and again and again, it was a rollercoaster of emotion. I adored the ladies in the book, the best friends you could ask for, you know they have your back and that is what you want from your friends. You don’t want to be stabbed in the back at all, no soiree so why do women feel the need to do that.

The emotion in this book is heavy. You feel the depth of the depression that Brianna feels and it’s not until near the end how suffocating things really are. The need to be perfect, striving to be a picturesque person, not really living, not quite knowing that until your world implodes.

We as the reader suspects so many things before they are revealed. The writing lends itself to us, it helps us see the bigger picture and we can only be there at the end, watching the fallout, hoping everything will be ok. Some aspects of Brianna’s life had me thinking of my behaviour and the thing is it is totally relatable. That self-doubt and self-loathing is it all of whether we accept or not is another thing. We all deserve to be loved and to have that person, your person. Irs a shame that some people have to try and control you and how you feel, never giving the freedom you deserve. That is quat Brianna deserves. She learned the hard way sue is strong, she is worthy and she can breathe again. I love Brianna’s journey, she has gone from being a shell of a woman to being a free woman, one who learns to love herself and live for herself. She is ao relatable and loveable you do feel quite protective over her, I know I did.

I can sense some people would be frustrated by Brianna decisions and behaviour and yes I did, however, it shows you the depths of how she was controlled and maintained in that relationship. She even basically admitted she couldn’t function without him so her headspace is going to be off-kilter. Plus if what happened to her happened to you, you would want answers too. All her insecurities were on show and it was sad to watch her tumble down the rabbit hole.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Its a sad story but there is light at the end of the tunnel. It so was well written and it is an engrossing read. I blocked out everyone while I was reading it. I would definitely pick up a book by this author again.

This was a really good sweet romance with a really interesting storyline this one will hold your interest all the way through. Kevin and Brianna are engaged to be married and seem to be in love that id until she is in an accident that puts her in a coma when she wakes up a week later there is no sign of Kevin and it is not long until he leaves her a note saying he is sorry but can't do this. Jaden is a sweetheart and her neighbour and helps her when she needs it but what will happen when she takes the douche back. Will she say with him or does Jaden have a chance still

I enjoyed this novel, however couldn't really connect with the main character. It was inconceivable to me that she thought Kevin was worthy of a second conversation much less a second chance. And her constant desire to please him exhausted me.

Brianna and Kevin are planning the dream wedding, but there are little hints that maybe the love of her life is slightly controlling, like telling her friends on her hen night to make sure she doesn’t eat or drink too much!!

Brianna wakes up from a coma not knowing that she and her best friend Cammy were in a car accident. The first question she asks is “where is Kevin?”

Kevin is the original yo-yo Man, one minute he is supportive and the next he has gone off the scene. Now let’s talk about Jaydon the neighbour, he is muscular, handsome, successful, loving and to seal the deal he can cook plus he is interested in Brianna.

This is such a well written book. I was engrossed fully, at one point I was going to refuse to finish this book if Brianna didn’t take her friends advice, that goes to show how emotionally involved I was.

A must read book that doesn’t disappoint!!

I thought that this book was going to be one of those romances where the female main and the male main were separated by a tragedy. Then they were brought together by circumstances. So, yeah. Not quite that. What I got was a romance that was far from ordinary. I also got a book that showed me that you can find romance in the most unlikely of places.

Now onto why I gave this book a 3-star rating. There were a few reasons. I got grumpy at how forgiving Brianna was towards Kevin. He was shown to be an uncaring, controlling idiot by the end of the first chapter. My hands itched to smack some sense into him. I also got grumpy at her lack of self-esteem and her lack of self during the first half of the book. Everything she did was to please that moron. She became so wrapped up in their relationship that she was devastated when he left. She didn’t know what to do with herself. Even in the middle of the book, when she knew everything, she was willing to take him back. I was about to tear my hair out of my head in frustration. The other reason was how Jayden was treated by Brianna. Kevin trumped Jayden almost every time. I did some “Ugghs” and “Are you flipping serious” every time she brought up Kevin or Kevin showed up.

My other reason for giving it a 3-star review was the ending. Everything that happened was too fast and too sudden. If the author had done an epilogue or even started a chapter with “A few months later“, then I would have been happy. But I wasn’t. It wasn’t believable to me at all.

Of course, there were things that I liked about Broken Perfection. I did like Brianna, despite everything. I thought that her regaining her self-esteem and self-worth was beautifully written. I loved Cammy. She was a great friend to her. And let’s not forget about Jayden. I loved him!!!!

The romance between Brianna and Jayden was sweet. Brianna was still recovering from the car accident and Kevin’s dumping her, so it went slow. He didn’t push her into doing nothing that she didn’t want to do. He didn’t exactly like it when Brianna kept running back to Kevin but he let her go. I thought that she had ruined the relationship after the last time.

The end of Broken Perfection rubbed me the wrong way. Like I said above, everything happened too fast. My head was spinning by the end of the book.

What I Liked about Broken Perfection:

A) Cammy. She was a great best friend.

B) Jayden. Loved him!!!

C) Seeing Brianna’s transformation

What I disliked about Broken Perfection:

A) Kevin. He was a douchcanoe

B) Brianna’s lack of self-esteem and self-worth for most of the book

C) How Brianna treated Jayden for most of the book.

I would give Broken Perfection an Adult rating. There is sex (not explicit). There is language. There is some mild violence. I would recommend that no one under the age of 21 read this book.

I am on the fence if I would reread Broken Perfection. I am on the fence if I would recommend it to family and friends.

I would like to thank BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review Broken Perfection.

Loved this story. An emotional read. Perfection is not a good thing to strive for. Sometimes things in front of you are not what they appear to be. Engaging story. Recommended read

When did it all go so wrong? Brianna seems to have it all a great job, a loving husband to be and great friends. But everything is about to change in a blink of an eye. She wakes up in hospital not knowing what happened and when she realizes that she has just woken from a coma and that she will need to learn to walk again. But her first thought is where is Kevin why isn't he at the hospital? He has started to pull away from her and he leaves her a note saying that he can't be there for her anymore, she is heartbroken. Lucky her sexy neighbor Jaden steps in to help her get better and just to be her friend. But is she ready to put the past behind her and move forward? Just when things start going well for them Kevin reappears and Brianna decides to give him another chance. But will she see his true colors this time or will she keep on allowing him to control everything about her life? Will she be able to end her relationship with Jaden and never find the happiness that she deserves? Will Jaden give her space or will he leave her life for good? Brianna is about to find out that she was never in the wrong and that she deserves to the person that she is and not what Kevin wants her to be. A good read. Never thought that Brianna would ever look and realize that her relationship with Kevin was toxic, he was always putting her down and he made the relationship all about him. Thank heavens she found Jaden and now she can be the person that doesn't have to feel bad about what they eat, drink or even what size clothes they wear.I know why I never liked Tiffany what a snake. I was lucky enough to receive a copy via Netgalley & the publishing house in exchange for my honest review.

From the first few pages the reader could deduce what the outcome would be. Not a very engaging book and the characters were one dimensional.

Absolutely brilliant book. Loved it. Thoroughly enjoyed the friendship blossoming between the three women and the continuing growth in their development.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I find her refreshing.
This is not the heavy sex scenes, but a story of love, loss, and realizations that what you thought you needed was not really true. But what you find when you open your eyes and mind and heart can be a whole wondrous new world. I think that is what Brianna went through. A transformation of sorts to be who she was mean to be.
Definitely a good read and look forward to finding more by this author.

The book was okay. I felt like it started in the middle and there wasn't much to the story. I really wanted to like it.
