Jack Taggart is one tough guy. Not many would insert themselves undercover in a white supremacist group but he does and he acquits himself well until things go wonky. This is classic strong but odd detective territory with lots of bad guys who get what they deserve. The writing is taut, the plot trips along quickly, and it's a page turner. Thanks to the publisher for the ARC. I read this as a standalone and enjoyed it. Perfect for travel. |
First and foremost I LOVE the setting...I adore anything that takes place in Canada. This was the 12th book in a series and I have not read the other 11. I didn't feel lost though. I guess there were moments where things were referenced that probably took place in the other books, but I didn't totally feel "left behind" so I was okay with that. This was a fantastic mystery/thriller. It was well thought out and the characters were so well-developed I felt like I actually knew them personally. The action was terrific and very exciting. This one kept me on the edge of my seat and left me wanted to hurry up and read the rest of this series! |
