This is a fantastic Children's Book that introduces children (and their parents) to Indigenous stories.

I love that these books are available in multiple Indigenous languages alongside English translations.

It is exceedingly important that we do everything we can to preserve these languages and this is a fantastic way to achieve this goal.

I rate this book as 5 OUT OF 5 STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A really cute picture book with vibrant pictures and rhyming text. I liked it, and if I had a little one at home, I would read it as a bedtime story.

Beautiful illustrations combined with introduction to language. It wonderful to read a-book for baby and the characters are nonwhite. Cultural exploration through the Canadian indigenous language.

A simple rhyme that is just beautiful. The illustrations are a perfect match. This book showcases two languages, English and plains Cree. I have no idea how to pronounce any of the Cree words, but it looks like a beautiful language I would love to learn.

what a beautiful book! This will make the perfect 'new baby' gift book! The illustrations are gorgeous, and the poetry is simple and lovely. The dual language is wonderful as well. This is a must-own for any family.

This is a gentle board book that is perfect to share with your little one at bedtime or anytime. It is a celebration of a precious new life that has gifted a loving couple.

"Little You" features endearing rhythms and beautiful simple illustrations that are created with clean curvy lines, collage-like images and a calm soothing colour pallet. It clearly expresses how the parents feel about their beloved child and the incredible joy the child brings to them daily.

The book is written with heart and oozes love. The message will resonate with both the reader and the child long after the story is ended. Both collaborators are of aboriginal Canadian descent and it is a dual-language book from the publisher Orca. The original English text is paired with a translation in Plains Cree which is so fascinating to see. "Little You" is an introduction to invite little readers to explore other languages while reading their favourite books!

The last page sums up the message of the book perfectly:

"You are the birth of everything new
you are perfect
you are you!"

I highly recommend this book.

Little You was another wonderful dual language story that had me immediately hooked. I adore the illustrations and think this will be a book cherished by families for years to come. Children have no idea the power they have with adults!

A lovely story about the joy and celebration of babies and new life. There is beautiful rhythm and rhyme to the words (which are both in Plains Cree & English).

The illustrations are visually striking and would be a great addition to a diverse library. #WeNeedDiverseBooks

This book would make a welcome addition to the bookshelf of any young child. The illustrations are simple, but they draw your gaze in with their beauty. The parents and child portrayed seem loving and happy. This is an easy read perfect for the short attention span of a baby or toddler.

In a culture guilty of whitewashing most media, this book also stands out because of its unique perspective of a Native American family. I wish the book talked a little bit more about the Cree culture and language at the end of the book! A quick Google search told me that Cree is a Native American group that mainly lives in Canada.

Fantastic book. Sweet, simple, universal. Julie Flett's artwork is gorgeous, as always. Will definitely be purchasing for the library where I work.

A sweet story told in rhyming text about a little baby, with precious illustrations. In addition to being a cute story, it is also bilingual, as the text also appears in Plains Cree. A first purchase for any library.

It is important to find yourself in books, even if you are a baby.

And it is important to have books in your language.

All in all, books like these, in which the narrative is both in English and Plains Cree, are so important, both for the child, as well as the family to share, and enjoy. This particular one is, as one review said, "oozing love"
