I know nothing about woodworking, but after reviewing this book, I am interested. Though the book is for kids, it is also written just for people like me. It has big pictures, clear directions, and starts with small projects.

This book has basic ideas to build like a tool box and birdhouse. But later are some very creative projects like a tent, tic-tac-toe game, and even stilts!

My five-year-old son peeked over my shoulder while reading this book and begged to build every project we looked at. Overall, very good book.

publisher synopsis: Come on, kids: Grab a hammer, step up to the workbench, and get ready to measure, saw, drill, and make cool things! Wood Shop is an exciting introduction for today’s kids to an age-old tradition: building with wood.

With step-by-step photographs and clear instructions, aspiring woodworkers learn essential skills such as how to drive a nail, use a power drill, “measure twice, cut once,” and saw correctly. Then the fun begins, with 18 cool and creative projects kids can build to furnish the wood shop, decorate their bedrooms and homes, and create their own play equipment. Favorite projects include Tic-Tac-Toe-To Go!, One-Board Birdhouse, a Tool Tote, and a hanging Twinkle Light. Wood Shop is the perfect gift for tinkerers, young makers, fans of Lego toys, and apiring carpenters and engineers.

Wonderful tool for kids/parents that are not used to wood work. Step by step instructions as well as illustrated guide is great!

I received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

A great book to create and to use as inspirations for handcraft activities for children from 8 to 12 years old. Very well explained the illustrated with step by step tutorials. My favorite one was the Twinkle Board. The activities are very well adapted for the children.
