Kids will love this interactive Q&A book discussing how different species of animals keep warm. I love the cover and how it pulls you into an imaginative but informative take on that theme.

The author tackles these questions and informs the reader how each animal manages to generate warmth when the weather turns cold. She also includes international species and highlights both familiar and unfamiliar animals. The book sparks further discussion of how these creatures adapt and a glimpse of their living habits and habitats.

Personally I like the design of the book. One page asks a question, giving the reader time to think about it and respond. When the page is turned the answer to the proposed question appears complete with visuals and details of that specific animal's way of coping with the chilly weather.

The illustrations are funny and sometimes silly and I know that kids will adore that aspect of the story. This non-fiction book encourages participation and its playful, kid-friendly style proves to be both entertaining and educational. I recommend this book.

Kids are going to enjoy learning about how various creatures stay warm in cold weather. I thought it was kind of interesting, too, as I did not know Tuataras (a type of reptile) snuggled up to fairy prion (a type of bird) to keep warm (and eat on occasion....). Illustrations were cute, too!

This is an adorable book with funny and sweet illustrations. If you've got an animal lover, they are sure to enjoy the information and learn how their animal friends survive when the weather is cold. There are entertaining facts on unique animals like guanacos and Japanese macaques mixed with interesting information focused on polar bears and penguins. This was a hit at our house.

Do Frogs Drink Hot Chocolate is a wonderful book about animal adaptations and habitats. I wished I had this book on hand last year as we studied animal habitats and adaptations. It would have been perfect! I look forward to adding this to our classroom non-fiction section. Basic information served up in a fun, entertaining style that will make more children long for non-fiction titles.

The title of this book alone is certain to attract my elementary school students! Through intriguing questions on each page regarding animal survival during the long winter months, the author has made learning interesting.
Young students will be able to relate to the animals' preparation for the cold and winter months by the explanations the author cleverly provides. This is sure to be a popular book of fun and learning!

This book is so cute! I love the illustrations and straightforward questions that the author poses kids. You know kids want to know if frogs drink hot cocoa. Kids drink hot cocoa, so frogs must also. The book is educational without going over the line into a straight science book. Plus the author gave me a great word to use, frogcycle! "Do frogs drink hot cocoa to not become a frogcycle?!" I Definitely recommend this book! It was very fun.

This book is SO CUTE! It suggests different ways various animals might keep warm, for example do frogs drink hot cocoa? Then the next page answers either yes or no to the suggestions (which vary in silliness), and explains how that animal DOES keep warm. The illustrations are cute and sometimes silly, like "Do birds fly south?" all the birds are sitting on an airplane. (The answer to that one is yes AND no, btw - read the book to see why!)

This is a funny picture book, on one level, and on anther level it is a zoologyical and biological study. The questions may sound silly, but the answers are straight forward. As an example, here is the question penguins.

And here is the questions about tuataras.

All in all, a very accessible book for the curious, that might lead them to more scientific study later in life.

This was a super fun and educational book about how animals keep themselves warm. My four year old loved the silliness of some of the questions and had fun guessing if the questions were true or false. The illustrations are cute, colorful and attractive.
It was fun to learn more about how God has uniquely created animals to adapt to their environment and I loved having the opportunity to be amazed at God's creation with my boys. My 4 year old wanted to read it again after we finished!
There were some harder to pronounce animals in here that I've never heard of, so it was educational for me too!

This was a cute story that juxtaposes ridiculous situations with real facts for kids to learn. My kids love these type of stories, especially about animals (think Wild Kratts). I think story will entertain kids up through early elementary. The illustrations are vivid and adorable. I would recommend.
