Loved reading the newly published version of Anne of Green Gables. I have read this story over and over again when I was a kid and didn't (couldn't) understand why adults were raving about it. Anne seemed a bit too obnoxious and like a girl I would not be able to be friends with. But now I read this, and I feel the solitude, the passion, and the love Anne hold dear to her heart which makes me feel very close to this character. This is the children's book but definitely a great read for adults too.

This was such a cute read, I have to say that it took me a while to read it, but the further I got the more invested I became in it. I do not like Anne in the beginning, she resembles a very needy child that whines a lot, which is why I could not bring myself to continue reading the book. Then, after a while I decided to give the book a second chance and not much after I could be found loving to read in it. Being a very big fan of character development in books, the development in this book in particular is just splendid, it warms my heart just thinking of it. A very lovely novel, and I feel like continuing the show. I had started it last year but had only watched one or two episodes, but now I really like to see how Anne's wonderful story evolves in film. I can only recommend this book!

I never read this as a child but absolutely loved watching the Netflix series 'Anne with an E' and was desperate to read the series. It's such a sweet book with charming characters. There's a reason this is a classic which has stood the test of time. It's beautifully written with a gorgeous setting, heartwarming themes, and plenty of nostalgia.

Anne is a headstrong, impulsive character who is so full of wonder and excitement about the world she lives in. When she finds that the family she is sent to as an orphan wanted a boy, not a girl, she is devastated and will do anything to earn her keep. It's the kind of book you wish you had read as a child, or I certainly did!

A wonderful story that has been beautifully updated to accommodate modern audiences.

Anne of Green Gables was a childhood favourite of mine, and having the chance to get a free copy and reread it was a must.

The story is that of an Orphan 'Anne", who is sent to live with brother and sister Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, who had asked fora boy to help on the farm. Anne, ends up staying with the Cuthbert's and the story follows Anne as she settles into life at Green Gables and without the small town, her friendships that she develops and the problems she encounters. Written in 1908 by Lucy M Montgomery, this book is still as captivating as it was when i first read it 30 years ago. It is beautifully written and the characters are lovable and it's lovely to see the relationship develop between Anne and Matthew and Marilla.

A well loved classic and it always will be.

And if you haven't watched "Anne with an E", that's a must do too!

My first experience of Udon Entertainment was Manga Classics: The Jungle Book, a real disappointment. So why do I feel differently about Les Misérables? The original Victor Hugo classic clocks in at nearly 1,400 pages. No young person would be able to handle that; I finally threw in the towel, and I was in my 50s at the time! Unlike The Jungle Book, whose language is accessible to tweens and teens, Les Misérables’ flowery language can be a stumbling block even for adults. A manga edition could make this beautiful tale of love and redemption, of different legal systems for rich and poor, of the inspiring Jean Valjean available to readers who would never otherwise be able to read it.

In the interest of full disclosure, I received this graphic novel from NetGalley and Udon Entertainment in exchange for an honest review.

Anne of Green Gables is one of those classics that I've been meaning to read for a long time. Very glad to finally have picked it up. Anne of Green Gables is about Anne, a headstrong, quirky chatterbox of a girl with a vivid imagination who gets adopted to live on Green Gables.

This is an heartwarming and nostalgic story. Anne is a character so full of wonder that you can't help but go along with her. Many times I laughed out loud trying to keep up with Anne's chattering. Anne of Green Gables is filled with lovely friendships, lessons to be learned and adventures to be had.

All of us could use a bit more of Anne's imagination.

Anne of Green Gables is such an all-time classic. I've never gotten the chance to read it as a child, but I'm so happy I finally came across it. Anne Shirley is a character to be reckoned with, and this edition is so heart-warming and nostalgic.

I received an ARC of this wonderful book in exchange for my honest review. I’m grateful to the author, publisher and NetGalley for this book. It’s just as wonderful as I remember from my childhood. It’s great that it’s been redone for children to get engaged with Anne Shirley now, also.

I got this book to review and I was hoping it would have some pictures in it (based on the book cover I thought it would) but it doesn’t have any pictures. It’s the whole Anne of Green Gables story. I thought it was great but my daughters weren’t even interested in reading it because it looked too long. Maybe in a few years?? Anyway- it’s worth the price for this whole set, but don’t expect it to be geared to very young children.

A perfect children's classic to rediscover or share with a new generation of readers. Anne Shirley remains one of the brightest stars of children's literature. Highly recommended.

Anne of Green Gables is a heartwarming classic and the perfect book for younger readers.

It tells the story of Anne Shirley, a fanciful and headstrong heroine, who is accidentally adopted by Marilla Cuthbert and her brother Matthew when they were looking for a boy to help on the farm.

The book follows Anne's misadventures as she navigates life with the Cuthberts, and they learn to love her. Anne is a wonderful role model for girls, as she is a bright and imaginative girl, who is eager to learn and prove herself, despite society's expectations.

This new edition is fantastic for appealing to younger readers, with bright colours and a fun cover illustration which will catch the eye of young audiences.

It would have been great to have an introduction - even just a couple of pages to give younger readers some background information. Other books from this publisher also include illustrations, information/definition boxes to help young readers which again would be great additions.

This is the story of Anne Shirley who is an orphan and taken in mistakenly as a farm help by an elderly brother and sister, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert.

Anne has a huge imagination, ambition and temper but despite that she longs to be part of a family and means well. The story continues about her life on the Cuthbert's farm in Green Gables.

The book has a lovely picture of Anne at the front and it also has a contents page. Surprisingly, there are no other pictures.

I love the author's descriptions. It definitely is a heartfelt story that makes you have mixed emotion for the central titled character. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this collection.
