This is another winner for Ms. Blackburn. It was well worth the wait. The mystery was great as well as the romance. I did find it hard to believe that Sabrina and Adam could work after almost getting blown up. But like a movie, anything is possible. This is a great book and I had trouble putting it down. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

In Too Deep is the 2nd book in the Dive Team Investigation series by Lynn Blackburn. It can be read as a stand alone novel. Imagine you're a diver recovering a dead body in a submerged car, and that is your everyday job. However, an encrypted laptop pins the blame on you. This is Adam Campbell's story found within the pages of this book. Adam reaches out to Sabrina Fleming, who is a digital forensicist, for help. Together, they find clues to a human trafficking ring and find deep dark secrets hidden by Adam's family. The addition of the human trafficking addition but it seems more contrived of a plot. It was hard to get into this book, and the plot developed slowly. However, I applaud Blackburn for shedding light on human trafficking.

This was a great 2nd book in the Dive Team series and I continue to be given new revealing details about the main characters in the current book, as well as the supporting characters from the previous book. The storyline also focuses on the unfortunate reality of modern day human trafficking.
I would recommend this book as well as the first book in the series, and I can't wait to read the next installment!

I finally got a chance to finish this book, I really loved it! The suspense is absolutely incredible.

And I loved Adam and Sabrina and their story. So, so good!

Adam is kind of forced into the middle of a murder/homicide when a woman’s body is recovered with his name written on her stomach.

And then there’s Sabrina. Who is after her? It seems that someone is intent to kill her. The main problem is she has no idea who or why.

My favorite character in this story is Adam. I loved the opportunity to get to know him. And yeah...the relationship developing between him and Sabrina...well it's beautiful. And the author keeps you guessing. I was never quite sure which way it was going to go.

This book is just full of excitement and suspense, from cover to cover. It will keep you engrossed until the very last sentence.

The mystery is absolutely top notch. The plot twists and turns. The sequence of events...it all develops at just the right pace. It keeps you moving along enough that you have no chance of losing interest, and yet things are revealed only a bit at a time, to keep you reading desperately for the next clue.

This is the second book in Lynn Blackburn’s Dive Team Investigations series, a series that has quickly risen to the top of my favorite suspense novels. Be sure and read the first one, Beneath the Surface, too! I cannot wait to read the third one next year!

In Too Deep Is a Worthy Follow Up. In Too Deep is almost as good as it's predecessor...almost. Where Beneath the Surface was a suspenseful mystery and thriller, In Too Deep focused more on romance. That being said, the romance element between Adam and Sabrina left me wanting more. As far as the mystery goes, I didn't know who the killer was until he/she was revealed. I received this book free from Netgalley and publisher Revell in exchange for an honest review. No one asked me to say anything about this book. All opinions are my own.

There’s so much action in this book which I loved. Sabrina, the main character, had to visit the hospital twice within 12 hours because of multiple attacks that were made on her. This book is definitely fast paced. ;) The mystery side of things was intriguing with the case of human trafficking.

This is the second book in this series and they just keep getting better. I loved the characters and can’t wait for more of the team to have their own stories. This has a bit of romance and a lot of suspense with a lot of twists and turns. I did not want to put this book down. I was on the edge of my seat through most of this book. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Another well written romantic suspense from one of my new favourite authors! Awesome! Excellent! And don't you love that cover? This is the second book in the Dive Team Investigation Series and they've both been wonderful so far.

Sabrina is a professor at the university who volunteers with a group of fellow computer nerds to help find trafficked people in the US through tech investigation. She has difficulty picking up on implied social cues and body language so that adds some humor at times to the story.

The story picks up and gets going at a high rate of speed right off the bat, which I like and hardly slows to let you take a breath. Poor Sabrina keeps ending up in the emergency department where Leigh from the previous book works. There's a lot going on, but it's laced with some humor and a cast of likeable characters.

This story is fantastic! It is filled with drama, suspense, romance, surprises, and more! It is well written, moves along naturally, keeps your attention, and has some great chemistry between the two leads in the book. I had not read a book by Lynn Blackburn before, but I currently have book one in this series waiting for me. Looking forward to reading it!

It only took one chapter for me to realize that I was not going to finish this book. With amateur prose and drama fit for a teenage romance, I couldn't stomach the rest. This type of book is why the "Christian" tag causes me to hesitate upon reading. There is no reason for this genre to have an almost fake and unnecessary, blatant, forced message of faith. I was disappointed that instead of a good story I was met with unreal, saccharin representation of a crime novel.

What an exciting second book in the series! I really liked the first book, <a href="http://amongthereads.net/beneath-the-surface-by-lynn-h-blackburn-review/">Beneath the Surface</a>, but liked this one even better!

As a self-proclaimed wimp when it comes to scary and yucky things, I have to again say how much I appreciate that author Lynn Blackburn has such balance in her stories, making them fully suspenseful and yet not dwelling on the gory and the depressing.

I loved the character of Sabrina, or Bri as Adam called her. She was the brilliant, nerdy professor who assisted in the computer related situations. So when a laptop was recovered from the submerged car of the suspected murder victim, she was the one called in. Bri could have been made too perfect, she was, as I mentioned, super intelligent and she was beautiful. Yet again, the author had the right balance and gave her a social awkwardness that made her perfectly imperfect.

Adam was besotted with Bri and had been since he met her several years earlier. Yet he had didn't feel like he was free to act on that attraction. I loved the way that once he realized he could, how awkward he was in that at first. And then he was just simply sweet in the way he wooed and cared for her. His jealousy when the "baby cops" were falling all over themselves around Bri and the fact that he considered these young officers such was too cute! I also thought it was so sweet that though he was from such an important family in the community, was wealthy and poised in so many ways, he was insecure about letting Bri know he liked her.

The attraction between Adam and Bri practically sizzled off the page, and yet neither of them thought the other was interested in them that way. I was very impressed with the way the author wrote this so I could actually feel this as I read.

I have read other books that deal with the subject of human trafficking and have found them very depression and having details that I think are not necessary. Again, I marveled at how the author gave due diligence to the subject without dragging the story into the mire of depression and depravity. And coming from the perspective of the people trying to make a difference instead of the victims was wonderful. I loved hearing their passion for righting the wrongs that had been done.

If you enjoy suspense and romance, you have to read this book!

I thoroughly enjoyed this romantic suspense. It contains a good balance of character development, police procedure, and romance.

The plot of this novel centers on human trafficking. I was a bit surprised that it was labor trafficking rather than sex trafficking. I can see how those coming from terrible situations can be tricked into a type of slave labor, even legal immigrants.

I like Adam and his law enforcement coworkers. It was good to see how they are loyal to each other and always ready to help. Sabrina is an interesting character. She's a computer geek and lacks insight into social indicators. I have known people like her so the character seemed very realistic.

There is plenty of suspense. At times I thought maybe Sabrina and those protecting her were not too smart, allowing suspense to happen. She went for a morning run by herself after being threatened, for example. While it was on private property, she was attacked. Future protection proved better.

I do recommend this novel to readers who enjoy good characters, plenty of suspense, an informative topic for the plot, and some romance. The major characters are Christians and that was presented well. Despite the cover and the title, there is very little about diving in the novel.

This book opens with the dive team being called to recover a body and car that has gone into the lake. It appears to be a suicide until they discover words written on the victim’s body, this message opens up so many questions. What do these words mean?

Adam and Sabrina have been friends with each other for quite a while and have romantic feelings for the other, but both are hesitant to share their feelings because they fear the other does not reciprocate the feelings. While they have worked together in the past on cases, this case has them spending more and more time with one another. How long can they keep their feelings at bay? Or will they finally open up? I really liked these two in the first book and continued to like them in this one. I enjoyed following the progression of this relationship. I also enjoyed spending time with the supporting characters around Adam and Sabrina. What a wonderful group of co-workers and friends to have.

This story is fast-paced and suspenseful. As the team digs deeper into the investigation the threat gets more deadly. Someone is determined to keep them from discovering their secret. Sabrina ends up in the hospital twice in less than 12 hours and Adam is also injured. Who is after them and why? I did not want to put this book down until I had the answers.

The ending left me satisfied and sad at the same time. While I suspected who the main villain was I did not see the final twist coming and was sad for what it meant for Sabrina. However not all was depressing for her as she had the support of her friends and the love of Adam to lean on. This could be read as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend reading book one first to get to know the team members better and some of their back story (and Beneath the Surface was just as suspenseful as this one). I will be keeping an eye out for the next book in this series and there are two team members that I would love to get to know better (and hoping they get together).

What began with an interesting premise and a starting chapter that had me hooked, In Too Deep quickly spins into a tepid romance between characters Adam and Sabrina are difficult to root for. I wanted more focus on the murder where the victim is found with a chilling message that reads "They killed me. Ask Adam Campbell." I'm not sure if it would have been helpful to have read the first book to have more of a background on these characters, so please take that into consideration. I thought at times the dynamics between the characters worked and at other times they fell flat. And this may be because of the dialogue. I found the dialogue not to be realistic and it felt repetitive at times. Just ask her out already, Adam, so the book can focus on the actual mystery! And this is where my issue lies within this book. It can't decide if it's romance, if it's mystery, or if it's Christian fiction. While other authors expertly blend all three genres seamlessly, In Too Deep splatters a little mystery here, a lot of romance here, a dash of Christian fiction here, a little more mystery, more romance, etc. This is a shame since I hoped this would be a series I would enjoy.

Adam and Bri are just so much fun hanging out with - Adam with his gentleman ways and Sabrina with her authenticity. It's impossible to not cheer for them and want to punch whoever is trying to put them in danger.
And danger they are as supposed names attached to legacies are threatened, but all this journey teaches where true treasure and worth is to be found.

Impatiently waiting for the next book :)

This is the second book I’ve read by this author and I loved it. The story deals with some hard topics like human trafficking and slavery. I understand better why it can be so hard to identify and help people stuck in these horrible situations. I’m thankful for the people who are devoted to finding them and rescuing them.
The story is exciting. There is a great mystery to be solved. The danger is imminent and the threats are constant. I again enjoyed the interactions between the members of the dive team. I especially appreciated Sabrina. She is dedicated to the truth no matter what the personal cost might be. It was fascinating to see how she made her deductions.
There were several big twists to the story. The beginning of the story was amazing and drew me right in. It was an all around great suspenseful book. I can’t wait to read more from this author. I hope that Charles Campbell, Adam’s grandpa, will be showcased more. He’s a very cool character.

This was a good mystery story - it will hold your interest and keep you guessing until the end of the book! Adam Campbell is a white collar crimes investigator in a small town who belongs to one of the wealthiest families in town!
Adam and his fellow team members investigate the death of Lisa Palmer, an accountant whose car had been driven and submerged in a lake and her body had been dragged out of the car by an onlooker.
What was strange about Lisa’s body was that there was a message on her stomach saying “They killed me. Ask Adam Campbell.” Lisa was recognized by Dr. Sabrina Fleming, a professor who taught cybersecurity and computer forensics at a nearby university.Dr. Fleming was called to the scene because a water soaked laptop was found with the car and she had the equipment and knowledge to dry out the laptop and get information off of it.
Adam told his team that Lisa had asked to meet with him the following day to discuss some information she had. Lisa was Dr. Fleming’s fathers accountant.
The laptop was recoverable, and the information it contained would lead to attempted murder a bomb, and a secret Dr. Fleming’s father had tried to hide since she was 10!

I have been eagerly waiting for this book ever since I finished the first book in the series, "Beneath the Surface". Author Lynn Blackburn has found a unique niche in this genre, hitting the exact right blend of suspense, dialogue, believable characters, and romance for my personal taste....all the right notes are hit in this book.

Atypical wealthy person turned-police officer-and-crusader-for-justice Adam Campbell loves his career. He has also made peace with the place he holds in his uber wealthy family. In love with the brilliant Dr. Sabrina Fleming since they met two years ago, he has yet to truly share his heart. When they are reconnected to solve this mystery, Adam knows that he cannot go on working with her unless he is straightforward about how he feels.

Dr. Sabrina Fleming is so crazy smart that she sometimes misses social cues - and occasionally, doesn't even recognize her own feelings. Combined with the fact that her life seems to be repeatedly in danger, Sabrina puts all her energy into solving the mystery. But is the mystery she is trying to solve the right one?

The supporting cast is interesting, and there are multiple surprises throughout the story. Note: they are not only unexpected, they are surprises that make big picture sense (vs. just being for shock value.)

This book can be read as a standalone but your experience will be much richer if you read number one first. I enthusiastically recommend these books and this author!

Book two of the Dive Team Investigation series begins with lots of action and mystery and continues to the end. Adam Campbell's investigation into a death will bring the whole team closer together as they move to protect a computer forensic expert, Dr. Sabrina Fleming who will help to solve the murder. Readers will need to read book one to fully understand the relationships within this team. Lots of action, mystery and intrigue with a dash of romance makes this a welcomed edition to this series. Recommended!

For the first about 15 pages I had a feeling I had already read this book. The introductions of the main members of the Dive Team were very similar to the first book in the series. But then evolved a totally different story dealing with one of the darkest and hidden sides of modern society: human slave trade.

It's a well-told suspenseful story including a sweet love-story that of course holds no surprises.
