While I enjoyed Ariel in the previous books of this series, I wasn’t sure that I could love her. She is brash and outspoken, extremely prickly and not your average girl next door. Amazingly enough, I not only liked her, I loved her and this quickly became my favorite book of the three. When Ariel’s circumstances take a dramatic turn she is left with nothing. Her ex-husband not only destroyed her self-esteem but also left her in financial despair. However, the very annoying Eric Sailor quickly steps in to assist, despite her protestations, and before she knows it she’s finding her true self. Eric was the perfect mate for Ariel. He knew exactly what to say, when to say it and how to say it to push Ariel into the place she needed to be. And surprisingly, that place was where she could figure out who she was and what she wanted. A place where she could find her voice and speak up for herself as well as her friends. That, in my opinion, is the true definition of a hero. Along the way there was so much humor, one liners and repeated jokes that built upon themselves, all the while creating a bond between these characters in a fun and charming style. With never a dull moment this story moved at lightning speed. I never knew what to expect from this couple or their friends. When the big conflict arrived I didn’t see it coming and would definitely consider it a twist. And while the resolution felt a bit cheesy, I was grinning and cheering right along with Ariel and her friends. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each of the books in this series and was reminded again of why when we are given a glimpse into the future with a sweet epilogue that highlighted each of the princesses and their princes. Definitely worth reading if you like your romance laced with plenty of humor, friendship and naughtiness. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and St. Martin's Press. All thoughts and opinions are my own. |

Kiss the Girl has received wonderful reviews from so many readers that I feel bad in saying that I did not care for this story at all. I have decided that Tara Sivec may not be the author for me. The description spoke of Ariel as being a woman who has lost her voice and self-confidence. but her brashness said otherwise. Snarky is okay but the way she spoke to her friends sounded more like she was stuck in middle school bad language, mean girl mode. I wasn’t expecting a Disney princess, but liking the main character is important to my enjoying a book. I just never found my way to like Ariel. |
4.5 stars I have been enjoying the Naughty Princess Club series by Tara Sivec so much! In Kiss the Girl she gives us Ariel’s story and I loved it! This time around we get a new take of The Little Mermaid that will leave readers happy and content! Because of her ex-husband, Ariel is losing everything she worked hard for. Her ex left her feeling like less and she is struggling to find herself again. She has great friends, but her confidence is at rock bottom. Eric seems to push all her buttons, but as they get to know each other, she begins to see a different side of him. Yes, he is a rich and sexy and knows it, but there is so much more to this man. Add in her crazy and supportive friends, some other great secondary characters and an evil woman, and we get another great story! I have really loved all three books in the series, but there was something about this one as I was reading it! I swooned, laughed and just enjoyed reading it! Three friends who found each other just when they needed the love and support of friends the most. With each other, they are able to stand on their own feet and find love. But it was really the strength of that friendship that got them where they wanted to be and I loved that! I would recommend all three books! |
Ariel has finally hit rock bottom. She never imagined her life would lead her where she finds herself: facing the loss of her business, her antique collection, and her home. She vowed to never rely on a man for what she could do herself, so when she finds herself with no one else to help but Eric Sailor, the fiercely independent Ariel fights tooth and nail for what little autonomy she can find. Eric has long enjoyed watching Ariel react to situations with her own personal brand of fire and sass. He particularly enjoys it when she is sending her snark his way, but he can’t get her to do anything but snap at him, even when he tries to help her out. I loved that Eric recognized Ariel’s need to feel in control and independent. His ability to read her and find just the right solution to solve her problems without doing much more beyond giving her the tools SHE needs made me fall for him fast and hard. But just because he knows what she needs and is willing to let her take what she needs doesn’t mean she will let him in any further than she ever has before. He has his work cut out for him to convince her that he isn’t out to change who she is. Ariel’s independent streak ran her into quite a bit of hot water during Kiss the Girl. I enjoyed her spark and heat, but wished she didn’t have to rock bottom quite so hard to learn her lessons. She is a strong character, but learning the reasons she keeps everyone at arm's’ length was tough, especially in such an otherwise funny story. This was a funny, quick read with just the right amount of humor mixed into the story. The couples from the previous Naughty Princess Club books return to add their own bits of humor to the story as well. As an entire series, this has been entertaining and a fun twist on the traditional tales. I have enjoyed finding the parallels as well as the differences between these hilarious retellings and the classics. I received a copy for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect the content of my review or my opinion of the books. |
Overall, I thought that this was an ok story, some parts were better than others. I was interested in seeing how the princess spin would play out. I thought that Ariel was a bit rough around the edges and a little too dependent on the foul language. You can be a strong independent woman without every other sentence being filled with curses. I did like the bond and sisterhood that she shared with her two friends. I also liked how Eric was patient with her and let her rediscover her fierceness at her own pace. Even though this book can be read with no problem as a stand-alone , it is the third book in the series. I will probably read the first two at some point just to get more background on the friends can't how they started their business. I voluntarily read and reviewed s complimentary copy of this book received from Netgalley. |
A big thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press/Swerve for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Ok I am oblivious!! I just got the name of the series and the names in the book!! This is the third book in the Naughty Princess Club. It reads okay as a stand alone but I think if the others are read so you have more background on the characters. I really didn't like Ariel at all-she has a potty mouth and seemingly few redeeming qualities. I liked Eric and Derrick the cat. Her ex Sebastian is a creep. It was silly but a fast read. I especially enjoyed the goat yoga! With Eric's help Ariel seems to quickly become nicer. I liked the other books better to be honest. I rate this a 3.5. What's your take? |
Thank you netgalley, Tara Sivec and swerve publishing for my arc of Kiss the Girl. I know when I pick up a Tara Sivec book I’m in for a laugh and this book was no exception. Ariel, an antiques collector and co owner of The Naughty Princess Club, (a stripping business) just can’t catch a break. Her ex husband leaves her with self confidence issues not to mention in debt trying to pay the alimony she owes him. Ariel suddenly finds herself homeless and Eric, the playboy millionaire, is happy to step and help her during her time of need. Is their more to Eric than being the playboy? Can Ariel let go of her insecurities and give Love a try? If your looking for lighthearted read I’d recommend this series. Ariel and Eric’s relationship has played throughout the other two books is the series and we got the enemies to lovers vibe so I was excited to see how their story would unravel. I was pleasantly surprised by Eric’s character he was so much more than I expected and I loved him 😍. I enjoyed Ariel’s character too she’s stubborn, opinionated, cheeky and loves to use foul language (reminds me a little of myself 😂). I thought it was a great ending to a cute and lighthearted series. Sivec does an amazing job weaving in fairytale aspects throughout her story. This book is available tomorrow Sept 4th |
This a retelling of The Little Mermaid, romance style. It was kinda funny at times and the characters were very likeable. Other than that, it was pretty usual in the romance, it didn’t have that much drama and it was a fast read. I enjoyed how the characters were names. It was funny. Ariel was pretty cool but I felt like she changed really fast… It all went by a bit fast… Still, it made me want to read the other books in this series. |
Tara Sivec has been on TBR for a while so when I was offered this book, I decided to jump in. I struggled with this book. Not because I had a hard time suspending my ideas of the Disney princesses and accepting that this version is profanity laden and a little raunchy but because Ariel had like zero qualities of nice person at all. During the first chapter I was like I don't think I like her. By the third, I really didn't like her an didn't think I ever would. The best part of this book is Eric. He's romantic and he does everything he can to empower Ariel. I think I would have has a better appreciation of this book if I had read the first two books of this series first. I probably wouldn't have been all that surprised by Ariel's brash personality and also maybe, seeing her through her friends' eyes, would have been able to see some positive qualities. I'm on the fence of whether I'll read the other books in this series but this was a pretty interesting take on a fairy tale that we all know so well. *This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy* |
This was such a wonderful addition to the Naughty Princess Club series. Ariel is struggling to come to terms that she may lose all of her precious treasures. She also is the only member of The Naughty Princess Club who hasn't started stripping for their business. She has a lot going on and most of it is under the surface. Eric is the rich guy who is always hanging around because he half owns the local strip club. He loves to rile Ariel up, and has no trouble pushing her buttons. These two had a very sweet, electric, slow burn relationship. Eric was there for Ariel from the beginning and helped her overcome a lot of her issues and problems. The fact that he is able to slip beneath the wall she has built up without her noticing made for some very funny and romantic scenes. Ariel has been my favorite princess. She has an over the top personality and says what she is thinking at all times. She is always pushing her friends to be better versions of themselves and trying to make everyone else's lives better. She uses her big personality to mask her hurt, and it takes her awhile to realize that accepting help does not mean admitting defeat. I love how Tara writes these stories. You can definitely picture the scenes taking place, and it is wonderful to see how three completely different personalities come together to overcome all odds. -An ARC from NetGalley was provided in exchange for an honest review.- |
I feel like I waited for this story for so long and was not disappointed. Tara Sivec finally gives us the story of Ariel and Eric, complete with every character you can think of. Ursula, Triton, Sebastian and even Alfred(o) make an appearance, and I found myself looking forward to finding the next tie in to the Disney tale. In this retelling of what felt like The Little Mermaid meets Pretty Woman, the most foul-mouthed hoarder princess is silenced by doubts of her own self-worth. Afraid to actually perform as part of her and her friends’ new stripping business, and questioning her value after the cold treatment by her ex-husband, Arial’s two best friends and co-founders of the Naughty Princess Club try everything they can to help her regain her confidence. But when supporting their friend with carbs and binge eating doesn’t work, it’s ultimately the love of a prince that can help the princess finally find her voice. This story was just flat out, over the top hilarious. Arial was crude, she was opinionated, and she was so unapologetically dramatic that I couldn’t help but adore her. In some ways she was like a spoiled toddler constantly throwing a tantrum, but she did it in such a way that was just a riot. And Eric had the patience of a saint. This man came to the rescue of a damsel in distress, surrounded by an ocean of sadness (or just multiple fish tanks populated with Flounders) and did everything he could to help her rediscover the strong independent woman he knew she could be. She didn’t need someone to support her. She just needed someone to believe in her, and help her stand on her own two feet to allow her to rescue herself. Disney fans, Tara Sivec fans, or those just wanting a sweet romance with a ballsy heroine and the perfect man will simply adore this book. |
Ariel and Eric were probably my most anticipated couple.. and they did not disappoint! I loved Ariel’s sassy wit and Eric’s persistence. They balanced each other so well! Ariel really comes into her own over the course of this book which is interesting because she already seems so self-assured. Please pick up this series and enjoy the ride because, believe me, you will be laughing and swooning your pants off! 😈 |
This is book 3 in the Naughty Princess Club and can be absolutely read as a stand alone. I haven't read the previous 2 books and understood everything to do with this book, although I have since added those 2 books to my TBR pile! This one is about Ariel Waters and Eric Sailor. Ariel has gotten divorced but has not idea how to get her voice back since her ex made sure she was knocked down and insecure about everything. And then to top it off he took most of her money and she is now bankrupt and looking for a way to survive. Eric comes to her rescue when she loses her home. She can't stand the playboy but Eric may be a millionaire but somehow he has still managed to hang onto his humanity. He is still kind and supportive regardless of what others think. But when others try to insert themselves and force them apart, can they both figure out a way to be together and make it through? Now when I started reading this, somehow I completely missed that these books were a play on the disney princesses. So I was a little confused at first but then it made me laugh a lot with the way things would play out. It was definitely a different play for a fairy tale. I liked it, Ariel (and her friends) made me laugh A LOT!! Parts of it were a little slow for me but on a whole I definitely found it entertaining. Ariel is a strong woman who even after being beat down by her ex has managed to figure out what she needs to do and works towards it. And throwing Eric in there just makes her realize what she needs and deserves, once she works through her other issues. Eric is definitely sweet but he is also one that will stand beside you and make sure you have what you need to he happy. Even when someone who should be close to him thinks to involve themselves in his business. I really liked it! |

Kiss the Girl is the third book in the Naughty Princess Club series. It can be read as a standalone. The whole series is a fun read so I would suggest for read them all. Cindy, Belle, and Ariel are all down on their luck when they form a business. This book is Ariel's story. I love Ariel. She has no filter. She's sassy and in your face. Her ex has done a number on her, leaving her hating men. Eric is a nice guy. He sweet and doesn't back down easily. Eric is there for Ariel and he just might be the prince charming that she needs. |
5 Stars..... Oh yes! What a fun book! Amazing! Sexy! Sinful! And so, so romantic! I am in complete love with this book! Kiss The Girl is book three in the Naughty Princess Club series. Each book is very loosely related to a fairytale. In this book we have the story of Eric and Ariel. Ariel is a sassy, stubborn independent woman with a great deal of emotional baggage all in thanks to her ex. I won't get into the details of that because as the story unfolds, so does the cause of Ariel's issues. At first, I admit I wasn't a big fan of hers. While I did meet her in the previous book, her true colors weren't depicted. That said, as I got to know her, I understood her attitude towards the world. I empathized greatly for her and became her metaphoric bodyguard. Ariel and her two best friends, Cindy and Belle, have started a stripping business to make ends meet. All three women were down on their luck and demeaned by men in their lives who should have supported them. Are they promiscuous? Absolutely not. These women are strong and do what they need to do. The men that became their heroes couldn't be more perfect for them. Now let's talk about Eric. He comes off as cocky and arrogant. But you'll soon learn he is also sweet, sensitive, considerate, sexy, loyal and the absolute perfect hero. The truth is, he was so amazing that at the moment I can't even think of any of the other heroes that made my favorites list this year. I don't want to give away any spoilers. Even though this is based on a fairytale, trust me when I say it is not completely predictable. That was another aspect I loved in the book. I have read a few books by this author. I have enjoyed each one. I love romantic comedy and Tara Sivec has written some of my favorites. Her writing is addictive, fast paced and creative, and you can't help but devour her books. I read this book in one sitting, undisturbed through a terrible headache. I accepted the pain easily because in the end I would have my happily-ever-after. I loved the end. Eric was amazing! And even better yet, was the extra epilogues from Belle and Cindy. If I could have had any wish for this book, I would have loved to have Eric's POV as well. I would have swooned even more being inside his head. I laughed out loud. I even teared up. Most especially, I swooned. While I recommend reading the series in order, Kiss The Girl can be read as a standalone. A series that is truly a breath of fresh air. This is my honest and unbiased opinion. Thank you for taking the time to read it. :) |
Kiss the Girl is the third and final book in the Naughty Princess Club series. Ariel has been a big part of the series since book one and this is finally her book. Ariel owned a antiques store and now she's even losing her house. Thankfully she has her friends in a time of need and there's also a prince charming named Eric to help her out. Ariel leaves an impression of a confident and outspoken woman, but on the inside she's insecure. Her husband took away her self-confidence, but Eric has a completely different affect on her. I really enjoyed this series and the fact that all these books are loosely based on fairy tales, make them ever more wonderful. I was excited about Ariel's story since the first book and it did not disappoint. I liked how we got to know the real Ariel and how she slowly found her self-confidence as well as how sweet and wonderful Eric was. It was a great end to a great series. All in all it was a funny and entertaining series that I'd definitely recommend. |
This book had me fully on belly laughing. I thought the first two books in The Naughty Princess Club were funny, but Kiss the Girl exceeded the combined humor of At the Stroke of Midnight and In Bed with the Beast. It was apparent from the first book that Ariel and Eric had high levels of sexual attraction. While Ariel’s bold, crass and vulgar demeanor could shock many people, it was clear from day one that Eric was immediately drawn to it. He thrives on it and loved pushing her buttons to see the fiery red head mouth off to him. This was a great set up to the connect they had building between them. But when Ariel needs help, she’s surprised to find that Eric was the first two jump in and help her. As he slowly and methodically chipped away at the walls she hid behind, she begins to see him in a different light and noticed that he understands her on a level that not even her best friends do. This helps her in ways she least expected. Ariel was the perfect heroine. Bold and independent, she strives to be her own savior. Vowing to not ever need a man to save her or be defined by him and Eric knows this and is her perfect match. He feeds her fire and build her confidence in ways she doesn’t even realize. He’s subtle and charming and gentle in all the ways that count. This book was entertaining from start to finish. Once I started I couldn’t stop. I had to read it straight through and was sad it had to end. |
I love this smart mouthed princess. Ariel has always been my favorite, and Kiss the Girl made me love her even more. So many laughs, and crazy shenanigans with this group. I wish there was more coming. Eric and Ariel forever. |
I LOVE the Naughty Princess Club series by Tara Sivec, and I am sad to see it end, but WHAT a way to end! Kiss the Girl is all I hoped it would be - hilarious, entertaining, original, sexy and perfectly romantic. Ariel is sassy, outspoken and fierce, but she hides a sensitive, wounded heart underneath her cynical veneer that is yearning to be loved and appreciated by the right partner. Well, Eric is her ideal match in every way, and he helps her to find herself again and gain back her confidence. All three books in this series are highly unique and just a breath of fresh air. This romantic comedy at its best! |
