The Gift That I Can Give by Kathie Lee Gifford Illustrated by: Julia Seal Publisher: Thomas Nelson: Children’s ISBN: 9781400209248 Thanks to NetGalley and publisher Thomas Nelson: Children’s for the ebook ARC of The Gift I Can Give by Kathie Lee Gifford in exchange for an honest review. God, will You show me The gift I can give As I grow and love And learn how to live? This is a heartwarming story that shows how all children can do something to make a positive impact on others. From simply being kind to giving a loved one an extra-big hug to cheering on a friend. This story will inspire children with many ways to show God’s love. I give this book a rating of 5 stars and highly recommend it. I enjoyed reading this to my 4 year old daughter at bedtime. It was very adorable and I absolutely loved the bright and colourful pastel drawings. This book has a strong religious message but, the message is good and very positive. #TheGiftThatIcanGive #NetGalley |

This was just alright. The pictures were eye catching but not much else going on. This might be a hit for fan's of Kathi Lee's other books. |
Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review. This was such a cute storybook about a girl asking God what her Gift is. She goes from big to little possibilities. Illustrations are well done and I loved that it incorporated faces of different races. Definitely will buy for my little one. |

I highly recommend this book for children. This is a great tool to open the doors for kids to recognize that just being kind and nice to others can make a huge impact. I can't wait to read this to my children! |
Then He'll help me find ways to give it away. As He lives in my heart. Every moment, every day. I just absolutely loved this book on the gifts that God gives. What a great teaching tool with diverse illustrations on all the ways we can give the gift away. This book is on the top of my list to give to my grandchildren. Gifts comes in different ways, sizes that only each individual heart can give. It is a prayer and a praise that each child will experience the joy of God. Highly Recommend. A Special Thank you to Thomas Nelson and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review. |
Such a lovely book! Great message and beautiful artwork. If you are looking for a good kids book you are going to want to check out this one. I love this story and the message within. I received the ebook through Netgalley for reveiw. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone. |
This is a children's book aimed at a very young audience and helps teach children that they can have an impact no matter what age they are. Gifts can be the obvious ones, like dancing, singing, or playing in sports. There are less obvious ones, like being kind and caring, being a good friend, and sharing love. Kathie Lee Gifford is best known as a television host, but has also been an actress, singer, playwright, songwriter, and author. I had not been aware of those other roles she's had over the years. The words here are very simple and easy to understand, with art that is fun and playful for little children. It's a great message for them to have, and for the adults reading this book to them as well. All of us need to remember that we have different talents, and that "small" ones are just as important as the "big" ones. |
What a beautiful book about trying to figure out the gift God has given to you! The illustrations are delightful, and I really like the message. There are so many gifts that seem underrated, but they're so important. |
The Gift That I Can Give
by Kathie Lee Gifford
Q: What did you like about the book?
A: It was about how we‘re all made for something even if it’s really little like cheering on your friends.
Q: What is the book about?
A: It's the gift that you can give.
Q: That's just the title of the book.
A: But that's what its about too. Like you can give people things that aren't just toys and
stuff. Something you can do for them that only you can do.
Q: So how do you figure out what that is?
A: As you grow and as you live, like it says in the book.
Q: Did you learn anything?
A: It seems like lots of kids like me wonder what they’re supposed to be good at but it’s like it’s okay not to know because you will figure it out as you go.

This is a powerful, poignant, religious book to read to your children or grandchildren. I really liked that words in the text were highlighted by being in a different color. The words in the story are simple yet their meaning is so powerful. The illustrations are absolutely beautifully drawn and with such rich, vibrant colors too. What a fantastic book to give to a child. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review. |
I definitely requested this book a bit too hastily, as now that I’ve read it I can’t honestly say that I would recommend it to anyone. While I found the illustrations quite beautiful and the thought of giving a gift to someone in terms of being a good person is definitely a message that I love and can get on board with, the heavy religious connotations of this children’s book deeply disturb me.. I’ve never really been okay with the idea of teaching children religion without the acknowledgement that it might not be true, and this book definitely accepts god as a truth, which I can’t personally agree with. Had the final gift not been extremely rilgious and rather god’s inclusion had simply remained a small portion of the book, I possibly would have liked it more but unfortunately it still would have been something I couldn’’t fully like. I would never give a book like this to a child. I wish it had been more focused on actually being caring person in general and not on something as silly as. “God’s Love” which isn’t even something that can be proven. Being a good person is far more important, ultimately, than spreading knowledge of god. Ultimately, it’s book really wasn’t for me and while I like to keep an open mind, I just felt too uncomfortable with the idea of this book in general. I was provided a free copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. |
An inspirational title encouraging a child to pursue their dreams. Note that prayer is depicted and God mentioned throughout. |
This is the best book! I love everything about it... the story, the pictures... all extraordinary. The simplicity of its message allows it to be universal and not overwhelming. I know that it is geared as a children's book, but I believe it's a great message for anyone of any age. |
The illustrations in this book are lovely. Readers should note this is a Christian book about gifts from God so if that doesn't appeal to you , don't pick it up. However, that aside, I always like rhyming books to read aloud to my kids. It has a message of spreading kindness and other positive things that young children can never have reinforced enough in their lives. Thank you to #NetGalley for the free digital ARC in exchanges for an honest review. |
This is a cute book on a little girl questioning the gift God gave her. She goes through a series of possibilities like to be a good dancer, singer, athlete, kindness to animals, helping hungry children and more. She finally figures out her answer. Hats off to the illustrator on the characters who are cute and fun. I recommend this book for 2-5 year olds. |
The gift that I can Give! I love this book by Kathie Lee Gifford! I love the meaning of behind the book, I love reading books to my daughters that show the meaning of Gods love for one another. We each have gifts and sometimes that concept is hard to explain to our children. They don't get exactly what that means in life, sometimes they even think that a gift is something that can be unwrapped and opened. This book explains that everyone is unique in their own way, just the way God made them. It explains that its a gift of helping people, as well as things like dancing or playing ball, is also a gift. It's a beautiful reminder to be kind to people because that is how God made them. The pictures in this book are amazingly beautiful, very colorful and perfect for the words written! I was giving this book to review from the publisher on netgalley! The thoughts are my own! |
This book is filled with large, full-page size, beautiful, and colorful illustrations. An important message of God's love and His kindness to others. Children are taken on a journey of all the things they can do to bring joy and help to their communities. It's by sharing this message with action that makes this world a better place. |
Such a sweet little story with such a good meaning. It shares that god gives gifts to share with others that you may not know what it is or when it will come but will always be there the share. |
