Running Behind started off a bit boring to me, but then I got to the heart of the story and I loved how the friends were towards each other. During the race, instead of racing ahead, Jake stayed behind with Spencer and pushed him forward. I found that to be true friendship.

The ending was good and I was glad that there was some justice for a wrong deed a character did.

This was just a really good story about two guys who weren't really friends, but their love for running brings them together. Spencer helps Jake to understand that, to him, running is more than just winning which helps Jake to understand why he loves to run in the first place. This is definitely another one of those stories that everyone should read.

This is another book by Orca Book Publishers that I really enjoyed. It's a fast-paced, quick read (again like 100 pages). I read the whole thing in one sitting (a couple hours). I couldn't put it down. I was able to relate with the way Spencer felt about leaving his dad to go run the race. He didn't want to leave him alone all weekend and I can understand that. That's what I enjoy most about the books I'm reading from this publisher. They are all relatable in some way and I love books like that. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good, quick read.

Thank you NetGalley and Orca Book Publishers for an advanced copy of this book in return for an honest review.
