This is an absolutely amazing book of vignettes for kids that teaches them how to love Jesus and others, in an active way. Bob Goff is an author, a lawyer and a layman who carries the actions of Jesus to the world. He helps those who cannot help themselves and this book encourages children to do the same. I really enjoyed the chapters about the new heart and the medals for Charlie. We all have a new heart and we all need medals. It was encouraging for me to read that God is cheering me on in my daily struggles in life, and I am confident that this book will be an encouragement for children. I recommend this book for ages six and up, and I highly recommend that parents read this book with their children so that the parents can discuss the chapters and the truth available there. It is important to apply truth, not just to know it, and that is the theme of this awesome book. LOVE DOES is all about doing for Jesus, even if you are only a child.

LOVE DOES FOR KIDS is an awesome book with 46 chapters for kids ages 6-10 — all beautifully illustrated — by force of nature Bob Goff and his daughter Lindsay. This is a highly engaging follow-up to Goff’s New York Times bestselling LOVE DOES, and features stories about love in action, as a way of sharing his Christian faith. It’s a great book to read with children during Family Night or as daily inspiration.

Goff is a guy who promised each of his kids an adventure of their dreams, from high tea in London to riding motorcycles across the Mojave Desert. He’s had a life of high adventure and high service, providing legal defense for children caught in sex trafficking, teaching witch doctors in Uganda to read, and supplying food for needy remote African villages. Gives you an idea of the spirited energy Goff brings to his latest release. Highly recommended! 5/5

There were lots of personal stories in the book that were "inspirational," but it was not right for me personally. I read this book on recommendation from another reader. It was well-written and interesting enough, but it was not exactly what I was looking for. If the description makes it seem like this book is up your alley, check it out!

This is a beautiful book for children ages 6-10! Bob Goff's writing is engaging and humorous and each short chapter show his point: Love does. Love is active. Love is willing to do the unexpected. Colorful illustrations add to the book's appeal. I can't wait till my children are older so we can read and discuss this book together.

Love Does for Kids has 46 chapters of love in action. Each story, from Bob’s childhood, wedding, parenting etc. Is an example of love. Whether it is patience or kindness or “I’ve got your back” moments this book had me laughing, crying and thinking. I think my favorite was the extravagant gift that Richard chose to give to the kindergarten class at his school. His focus wasn’t on his limitations (knowledge, finances, time…) but on what would be the most awesome way to show them how important and special that they are. I would suggest a chapter per week as a family. Again the illustrations are beautiful.

A lovely series of inspirational reflections with charming illustrations. This book would serve nicely as a daily reader for families or classrooms. I would like to see a reflection question or conversation starter at the end of each chapter to start a conversation with the young reader.
