The following review will be posted on my blog, Goodreads, and associated social media pages on Sept 22/18

I have to admit I really enjoyed this story. I have not read the first in the series however it appears that it was not necessary to the second one. Although I think I am convinced to go back and check it out.

What I liked about this story is that it is not the typical contemporary romance that one may expect. The storyline took off at a lightening speed and didn't slow down until..well the end. A lot of suspense and action was loaded in to this story in what felt like an incredibly fast read. Filled with bad guys and good guys. I should clarify hot SEALs! Also filled with enough twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. I was pleasantly surprised by this.

Then there is the romance aspect filled with the instant attraction, plethora of roadblocks and strong personalities. Did I mention how hot MacGyver was? The perfect dreamboat. Gorgeous and tough on the outside and soft with a heart of gold on the inside, pretty much every girls dream. Honorable mention goes out to Chip the dog who is every girls other hero.

I don't usually seek out suspense type books, not that I don't enjoy them but simply because there is do much else out there that I don't get around to it. This story made me wonder why. This story first and foremost is a romance, but has enough other stuff going on that separates itself from the standard formula. I will be on the lookout for more from this series and this author.

Runaway bride is looking for her missing sister and ends up getting help from former Navy Seal Matt Iverson. Kellie needs all the help she can get while hiding from a Vegas mob boss who was forcing her into marriage. Book two in the Hearts of Valor series, Dixie Lee Brown has written a book that has mystery, suspense, and romance. A definite five star read.

This is book 2 of the author’s series , Hearts of Valor. Though I am partial to book one , this one is a very good story.
The story centers around former Navy SEAL Matt/MacGyver Iverson and former Marine, Kellie Greyson.
Both are in Vegas searching for a missing person. Kellie’s sister has disappeared for over a year and just recently Kellie found out she was last seen with mobster Tony Palazzi. She makes a point of meeting him . A turn of events has Tony forcing Kellie to marry him but minutes before her wedding she escapes. Guided to a biker bar, she meets MacGyver. who is waiting for information for a different missing person and instead, ends up saving her from a group of bikers. Little did the two of them know that is was going to be the beginning of a cat and mouse race. Will they be able to trust each other long enough to succeed in their mission?
The story is filled with suspense, mobsters, guns, missing people, action , adventure, a few good laughs and of course, romance.
It bears mentioning that Travis , one of the secondary characters, is a great addition to the story.
Aside from the plot , the author reminds us of the horrors of war and their effect of the brave men and women who sacrifice themselves in the name of freedom and our country. She brings to light the fact that war can cause some of the troops to turn to drinking and drugs thinking it’s the only way they can handle the stress. We as a nation, need to support all the brave men and women upon their return and assist them in their integration back to civil life. For that , kudos to Ms Brown.
Looking forward to what else the author has in store for us in the next book of the series,
I was entrusted this copy by Netgalley and Lyrical Liaison. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Fun, snarky, sexy...A great book and I can't wait to read more about the family involved! The characters are good, the side characters are better - lol - they really make the story pop and give it a lot of depth and life.

Kellie Greyson was on a mission. The former Marine was determined to find her missing sister by contacting the last person who knew her whereabouts. Unfortunately that person is Tony Pallazzi. He owns and runs a Casino with a mob reputation, and Kelly is getting his attention in a big way, by stealing his money counting cards. Next thing she’s in his office with a couple thugs to keep her in line. She made a major error in her plan. If she doesn’t agree to marry him, he has threatened the only person she cares about besides her sister. Charlie Webster, “Pops” her stepfather. Eavesdropping she learns that Tony’s plan is to kill her. Time to get out. She gets help with a note telling her to head to a local bar, and all she cares about is getting away.

Matt Iverson who goes by MacGyver is a member of an elite security team waiting for a meet with a PI they are working with. Suddenly a beautiful soaking wet woman in a wedding dress shows up at the bar.
She looks lost, but is immediately caught up in some nasty biker fun, getting her drunk with lots of tequila. He gets a quick txt from his boss, that this bride needs protection, so when she heads to the rest room, to most likely throw up, he has his chance. She passes out and he and his partner Travis whisk her away out the bathroom window. Now what do they do with her?

This is a wild and crazy ride involving cars and planes, US Marshall’s, many near death experiences and a hot romance. This is a first time author for me and I enjoyed this action packed story. I immediately purchased the first book in this series. If you like suspense, action and hot romance with Navy SEAL’s grab this book!

Thank you to Kensington Books and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is a fun, hot on your heels book. I loved every aspect of it. The hero and heroine are entertaining and keep the read enthralled. The female is fiesty and independent. Determined to find answers no matter what. The Male lead is fierce and protective. Hell do any thing to protect the stranger he finds in a bar. The ]lot line is excellently written and engaging. I look forward to more from this new to me author

Honor Among SEALs by Dixie Lee Brown is the second book in her Hearts of Valor series. I loved this book and can't wait for the next one. I give this story all 5 stars and hope that everyone will enjoy this addition as much as I did.

Matt "MacGyver" Iverson has a tough job guarding a runaway bride who was given no choice to marry the mob boss because he's threatened her stepdad and sister. He and his brothers in arms have started PTS Security after leaving their SEAL team. But since other things in play involving a former Marine Kellie Grayson, her missing sister, Anna, who is in WITSEC with the US Marshall's, and a mob boss Tony Palazzi after all of them when she goes missing. Add in Charlie and his faithful dog Chip and Blake Sorenson who has a past history with Kellie and you have non stop action and a love story between Mac and Kellie.

Kellie Greyson gets caught counting cards at the Blackjack table in Tony Palazzi's casino when she gets upstairs Tony offers her a way out marry him and he wouldn't hurt her family. But what Kellie really wants is to find her missing sister who also know about Tony and his mob connections. But she has a secret that during her tour of duty in Iraq that involves Blake and his brother. Will they be able to keep her safe from Tony Palazzi and his goons and keep Kellie from falling in love with Mac? There are some climatic action scenes that are superbly written that will bring a satisfying conclusion in the end.

Security specialist and former SEAL MacGyver is hired to find a missing person, only to have his assignment changed to saving a runaway bride.

Kellie, a former Marine, returns from Iraq to find her sister missing and the police unable to find her. The only clue leads to a mobster/casino owner she decides to try to cozy up to. Her plans fall apart and she runs for her life, right into macgyver’s arms.

An exciting adventure with plenty of mystery and suspense is woven together artfully. The romance is almost secondary, but wonderful. Great characters and plot.

4.5 stars as intro/first couple chapters were a bit confusing or hard to get into, but as mystery unwound it made sense.

This read was just okay to me. I didn't really feel the chemistry between McGyver and Kellie. For me., they just seemed like two people in lust. There was never a moment where I felt like they were falling in love. I also thought Kellie's plan to infiltrate a mob boss's casino to find information about her sister was naive and idiotic. The fact that she was willing to sleep with said mob boss, if needed, also irked me. That being said, the book was well-written. It may appeal to you, but it missed the mark for me.
