Becky's book, Truth Unchanging, is an easy and quick read. I did not find any insightful nuggets of wisdom as I feel like her message has been stated before in another book. The message is very simple and basic, which is probably great for busy moms. I left the book wanting more than what she offered, wanting deeper thoughts than what she provided. I almost wish a few of the stories were in more detail rather than cliff notes.

Many thanks to WaterBrook & Multnomah and Netgalley for the chance to read this book early!

As any mother knows, there is rarely a silent moment in life. We have voices coming at us from all directions, it seems. There are endless wants, needs, and demands made at almost every moment of every day. The things we accomplish are often done while we're distracted, rushed, or frazzled. It's a miracle anything ever gets done while we're surrounded by so much noise. As terrible as it sounds, the reality is, it often feels like adding one more thing to the to-do list to tune into the quiet voice of God while we're surrounded by the numerous demands in our physical world.

Becky Thompson's simple devotionals for busy mothers take readers back to the Biblical truths we too often put on the back burner in our tedious and mostly monotonous lives. I appreciated Becky sharing her own stories in each devotional mixed with God's paraphrased word. This book allows mothers to feel a bit of solidarity despite the loneliness we often feel while in the thick of raising young children. This book is encouraging and helps us realize how important it is to tune out Satan's attacks on not only our thoughts but our time and energy as well. When we read the Bible, or through the middle ground of this devotional, we are able to feel renewed in the Truths God wants us to hold onto.

Through reading this, I felt convicted to return to writing my prayers down and coming back in the future to write how God came through. Not only for myself to see how God is working in my life, but for the sake of posterity. I loved the author's example of reading how her mother had prayed specific things for her and was able to see how those prayers came to fruition.

I think this book is a great reminder to seek God, even in the middle of the most monotonous parts of life. We have been given the gift of the Spirit to be with us at all times, whether it's the middle of the night with a sick child or while we're washing dishes. God will use those moments to help us feel a sense of renewal and strength in His presence.

Truth Unchanging is set to release in April 2019.

This book is crafted perfectly for the modern mom. At times I felt as though she was speaking to me herself. I found myself wanting to save and highlight parts in every chapter. There is so much wisdom and beautifully quoted scripture.

Every chapter/devotion takes us through the Bible from Genesis to Hebrews and not a single story was unrelatable. I love the different prayers at the end of each devotion as well.

I plan on purchasing this book for myself to have on hand especially during those moments that we, as mothers, need God most.

Thank you to Waterbrook Press and NetGalley for my e-book copy of Truth Unchanging by Becky Thompson.

Beautiful, life-changing, a masterpiece. These are the words I would use to describe Truth Unchanging.

This devotional is filled to the brim with heart, wisdom, knowledge, and encouragement. In typical Becky Thompson fashion, this reads so easily, as if you’re sitting down with a friend and chatting over coffee about life and motherhood. It’s authentic, and you can simply feel the love of Jesus poured out within the pages. I love the eloquence with which Becky crafts her words and thoughts together, and overall how purely enjoyable this devotional was to sit down with. I was so excited to see what nuggets of truth came up in each turn of the page, that I could carry with me.

I loved how unique this devotional felt as far as how it was organized... taking you through the Bible from the Old Testament into the New Testament and highlighting many well-known stories, while tie-ing them into a motherhood scenario/real-life lesson. Becky does this each day by elaborating on the Bible story, applying and relating one of her own life stories, and at the end of each devotion, writing a paragraph as if Jesus was speaking to you directly, and then wrapping it all up with a prayer. The entire devotional flowed together so nicely and didn’t feel at all disjointed (as some devotionals are prone to do in my opinion).

Something that’s worth mentioning with Truth Unchanging is that beyond it’s purpose as a devotional, I can see myself coming back to reference the Scriptures chosen as an overall outline of Bible highlights and the big picture in a condensed fashion. In fact, this would be the perfect devotional for a new believer to read, for this reason.

This devotional belongs in every momma’s hands, and I can definitely see myself gifting a copy to many of my own mom friends.

Thank you so much NetGalley and WaterBrook & Multnomah for gifting me this free review e-copy!

I absolutely adore Becky Thompson! I have bought, read and highlighted all of her novels. Reading her books is like sitting in front of her and having a conversation. As a mother, wife and a child of God, her writing speaks directly to my soul. I haven’t finished this devotional yet but I am loving it! She makes it so easy for us busy moms to spend a few minutes with Jesus and have that quiet time with Him. The devotionals I have read so far are exactly what I’ve needed to hear. Literally, love her so much! Becky, can we please be best friends?

Truth Unchanging ⭐️
For starters im only a mother to my pets (and this is directed towards mothers kind of) but I still thought this was beautiful.

My favorite chapter was Dont follow Fear. She said that dhe makes a list of things that could potentially go wrong... what if... what if... I do this too. Its easy to shrivle up with fear because there are so many things that can go wrong so sometimes we dont do something or say something due to the fear inside of us.
Jesus says to follow him but most of deicde to follow fear.

I also really liked her I Have Already aseen this Moment chapter because it has to do with healing and anointed with oil and the grace of God. James 5:14

I thought the Corresponding Bible verses worked well with her segments and I thought there were alot of good stories and helpful lessons throughout.
