HIDDEN by Rebecca Zanetti. This is book one of this series and what an introduction! Malcolm, our Hero, is recovering from a long undercover assignment and is looking for some peace. Pippa, his neighbor, is hiding from her past. What happens when these two collide? Fireworks, danger, suspense and love. I recommend checking this one out. Ms. Zanetti does a great job with character development, moving the plot along in a way that flows, and bringing everything all together. I look forward to reading more by this author in the future! (received ARC from NetGalley for honest review)

Mal and Pippa are those damaged characters we love. Pippa because we want to root for her, and well, several times I honestly wanted to smack Mal upside the head!

Seriously, so you think she’s a terrorist, dude, she welcomed you to the neighborhood with homemade cookies and pie and you joined a covert agency to spy on her, how rude!

But, the book was so well done I just loved them! The twists, turns and the drama. More please!

What is this new series from talented Ms. Zanetti? Romantic suspense with a bad boy turned good? I picked this book up because I love Ms. Zanetti and will read everything she writes. This new series is not to be missed. Where to start?

Pippa is trying to build a new life, far away from the horrors of her childhood. When a new neighbor moves in, she's scared yet intrigued. Malcolm West finds the perfect place for his recovery. He has left the law enforcement world to get away from a last assignment gone wrong. What he doesn't know, is that this is all a set up.

When it comes to complex situations with conspiracy type groups, Ms. Zanetti excels at creating them. In this world, very little is what it seems. There are several dark secrets each person keeps which causes mishaps when they are finally revealed. Malcolm is one who doesn't want his past to come up. He does everything he can to avoid it. Yet he is pulled back into law enforcement, unwillingly. Plus he now that he's invested in Pippa's survival, he can't back away. It is amusing to see the reluctance in both Pippa and Malcolm. Both want a simple and boring life. The way the two grudgingly deal with the drama helps balance the seriousness of the situation. It is nice to see a realist portrayal of people who are tired. People who are exhausted and just wish for a little bit of peace and quiet.

This romantic suspense promises to be an exciting new series. Recommended to suspense readers who enjoy a bit of romance with their mystery.

This is the first book in a new series. Pippa escaped from a cult when she was younger. This provides the background of a thrilling book, with an ex-cop helping to investigate the cult. This was a good solid read and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Finally got to review the book....not that I hadn't read it earlier!

This is one of the most interesting books I have read, with so hot passion, thrilling action, and suspense keeping the readers at the edge of the seat. First in a new series, and couple more to come, Rebecca sets the tone of the series as a new secret task force comes into play.

Pippa and Malcolm sizzle the pages, and there is no less danger and death that shadows them. Rebecca weaves an intriguing plot as she introduces the players and the FORCE behind the movement.

A great start to a new series by Rebecca Zanetti,

This book had it all from romance, action, comedy, and some serious stuff going down. The action was pretty exciting and the serious stuff had me wanting to jump in and take some people down.
This was a great start to a new series

Ok so I assumed when I began this series that it would be just like previous contemporary novels that I have read by Rebecca, but I can honestly say, that this is NOT what that was. Hidden kicks off a new series in a strange but interesting way, introducing new characters and letting us into their world. But that being sad that is where the similarities to any other work you might be familiar with from Rebecca Zanetti ends. Pippa and Mal’s story is filled with angst, oddities, lies, and the world of danger that is involved when two people are hiding their true natures and identities. Pippa has been on the run for years and when the hot-as-hell Mal moves into the little house beside her she is instantly drawn to him, even though she is terrified of the pull. Mal just wants to hide in his new home and find a way to forget the assignment he barely escaped from with his sanity intact, but he should have known that it was just the calm before the storm. With his new job as a super-secret agent he is forced into not one but two undercover assignments, one of which is earning the trust of his sexy new neighbor to find out her secrets and connection to a dangerous cult leader. But the feelings he is developing for Pippa are not part of his cover and soon he begins to wonder if he is in over his head. Even though they have both developed feelings for one another, with Pippa and Malcolm both hiding secrets, they are keeping parts of themselves separate. When the truth comes out and they have to come to terms with the chance that they might lose one another, only Mal and Pippa can decide if what they feel for one another is true emotion and if it is worth putting forth the effort required to make a relationship work. I liked Pippa, even as I felt bad for her because of all her fears and anxieties which kept her from enjoying her life and embracing a chance to be with Mal. She obviously has worked very hard to overcome her past and live her life despite the fact that she always believed she would be forced to deal with her past before she could ever have a future. Mal too has lived through some shit and seeing such a strong man brought so low was heartbreaking. It was nice to see him coming together with his new team and finding his footing in order to keep Pippa and the rest of the world safe. The fact that his love for her allowed him to heal and move past his trauma was wonderfully done and reminded me why I love Rebecca’s writing so much. The passion between them was sensual and sweet while at the same time healing for them both. I also feel I have to mention that the side characters in this novel are beyond intriguing and I am really looking forward to their novels, but by far the most entertaining and enjoyable character to get to know was the dog. I could NOT stop laughing every moment that dog was the focus of conversation or action and I promise you that you will be brought to tears with laughter when you read it too. There were a few slow moments and there were certainly some terrifying and sad moments, but in the end the series is off to a great start and I am looking forward to what comes next.

I enjoyed the plot in this romantic suspense book. Stories involving cults have a certain draw to them that interests me and this one had a different take on it that added some extra intrigue. Pippa is hiding. She escaped a cult shortly after her 18th birthday and they are looking for her. She is supposed to be the one to marry Isaac, the leader and fulfill a prophecy, she wants nothing to do with him, or his cult. She has one friend, Trixie, who escaped with her. When a handsome stranger moves in next door, she is wary. Malcolm West is also trying to get away from everyone and everything. A cop, who is trying to forget his last undercover assignment, has moved in next to Pippa, but was it all a set up?

The chemistry between Pippa and Malcolm was sizzling right from the first meeting. That was my only complaint about this novel. I am not a fan of explicit sexual content or language. Having said that, the relationship between Malcolm and Pippa was interesting. For two people who have trust issues, they got involved pretty quickly, it was almost like they were fated to be together. Pippa is such a great character. She has been through so much, yet is still trying to move on with her life. She is so brave, yet fragile to a certain degree. Malcolm, Mal, is a strong, handsome, man who has a protector instinct that immediately attracts him to Pippa. They make a great team. The ops team is made up of ex-law enforcement or military personnel who all have some kind of baggage. They sound like a great team and if each story features a different member of the team, it will be a good series moving forward. The story was tense and had me reading quickly to find out what was going to happen. Despite the suspense and sizzle, there was some humor as well, especially where the animals were involved. You will have to read the book to find out what I am talking about. I recommend this book to those who enjoy romantic suspense with some erotic sizzle thrown in.

Perfect for romantic suspense fans, this book has the mystery of a cult, the suspense of an undercover operative, and a few laughs in the form of an alcoholic dog who likes to wear high heels. Mal and Pippa were both great characters. They have baggage-Pippa from escaping a cult and being on the run, Mal from his time undercover. I think stories about cults are fascinating, so that aspect really drew me in. At times, the story seemed to drag a bit, but overall, this was a great read!

This book starts out fast and doesn't slow down. As every great Rebecca Zanetti series, this one has a great plot, strong characters that mixed with romance and suspense provides a story you can't leave and continue to think about when forced to put the book down.

The instant attraction between Malcolm and Pippa leads them down a path neither was prepared for. Malcolm has worked undercover for too long, looking for a nice quiet place to relax and regroup. Pippa has run away from a cult, hiding herself away from the world. Together they must trust each other and work together, facing danger and romance while trying to stop the cult from a terrorist plot. Lots of excitement and suspense written into this story.

I can definitely say that I could have never guessed the trouble that Pippa was in when I started this book. No wonder she is living off the grid, in a safe house, and slightly terrified of all human beings. Enter handsome Malcolm as her new neighbor and she is torn between wanting to know him for his good looks and company he could bring and the threat that would burst her safety bubble. Hidden was filled with some absolutely wonderful characters and some absolutely sleazy ones as well.

Joining Pippa and Mal in the “wonderful characters” category are Angus, Roscoe (Angus’ quirky dog), Wolfe, and Kat (Wolfe’s new found kitten that stays in his pocket.) These four brought some light into the darkness that Pippa and Mal face throughout the book.

I enjoyed this band of misfit gathering together all of their special talents and using them to make the world a safer place. They are like a super government agency force that is kept secret and hidden in plain sight.

I did, not surprisingly, hate Isaac. Everything about him made my skin crawl. I hated his use of religion as a means to get what he wants – he is one of the sleazy characters mentioned above.

Hidden was a quick and entertaining read and I am excited to see where the rest of this series and characters go. I can't wait to read Raider and Wolfe's story.

Amazing read and couldn’t put it down! Love anything from this talented author and the storyline focusing on Mal and Pippa was full of non-stop thrills, intrigue, humor, and romance. Looking forward to the next installment of this wonderful series.

Zanetti's chilling romantic suspense novels keep me on edge until I've turned the last page, and Hidden, the first book in her new Deep Ops series, continues that winning streak. Pippa has been happy, or happy enough, with her life of isolation, but her handsome new neighbor is tempting her to cross boundaries she's set up for her own safety. Malcolm knows his pretty neighbor has some issues, but then again, so does he after coming off a two-year-long undercover investigation that left several people dead. Malcolm isn't pleased to be asked to go undercover again before he's even unpacked, but when he learns that Pippa has ties to a dangerous cult, he knows he'll do anything to protect her. Sizzling, dark, and sometimes creepy, this is a perfect read as the nights get longer and colder. -Adrian Liang, Amazon Book Review

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I found the book average. The characters Malcolm and Pippa are interesting , and the chemistry between them is great . But midway I lost the interest in the book due to the auxiliary characters and the predictable plot ( as indicated by another reviewer).
I will not be interested in this series.

It took me a bit to get into this one but I really like the 2 main characters and their interactions in the end. I am not sure how interested I am on the rest of the series based on how the auxiliary characters were presented in this book

Book Review- Hidden by Rebecca Zanetti

Pippa is a mysterious character. Her behavior gives it away that she is in hiding. You just don’t know why. She freaks out when Malcolm West moves next door. Then the reason is revealed when Malcolm is pulled back into the law enforcing world. They don’t know what to believe about Pippa. She is definitely acting suspicious, but Malcolm doesn’t believe that she is planning a terrorist attack.
It is interesting how he works to gain her trust and how their relationship grows. I don’t like how he starts investigating her. You know that is going to come back and bite him in the butt.
The cult leader is truly creepy and crazy. He is fixated on Pippa. When the author revealed why, I was shocked and completely creeped out. So, I liked the last confrontation in that regard. It was a good read that keeps things moving quickly along and gets you guessing what is truly going on. I liked the characters and how they dealt with each other. They are a ragtag bunch and I definitely want to read more about them. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Hidden is the first book in Rebecca Zanetti’s new romantic suspense Deep Ops series I love the imperfect characters with all the quirks. The way the characters interact is inspired and what Rebecca Zanetti does best.
Mal is a former undercover detective who is burnt out and has decided to retire after his last case.
Pippa is a recluse who is running and hiding from her past.
I am looking forward to getting more of the back story on each of these very interesting characters and seeing where it all goes.
I freaking LOVED it!!

Malcolm West is done with doing undercover jobs and ready for some quite living in his newly bought house. Apparently, finding this perfect place is nothing but a set up for a job offer he can’t refuse. How can he when the assignment is his new neighbor, Pipa. SHe is an ex-cult member that may be key to preventing an impending terrorist attack. She may also be the key to his undoing.

I was excited to find out that Rebecca Zanetti came out with a new romantic suspense novel and I expected that this new series will be just as good as her previous works. I enjoyed Malcolm and Pipa’s story, I thought there were sweet and this special ops group that’s just forming has the promise of good stories to come. The quick bonding and camaraderie between the group had me hooked as soon as each character was introduced. I have to tell you, this group has their quirks and they made me laugh. And very sly of Zanetti to add Roscoe, the very mentally-off pooch and the very sweet Kat the cat making the story even more endearing.

You like romantic suspense full of action, humor, and good romance? You have to try this book and follow this series with me.
