Hidden is the first book in a new series--which I am so excited about--and so happy to read. Pippa is a woman with secrets, who is scared of everything, but her new and mysterious neighbor makes her feel safe and ready to come out of her shell. Only, Mal has some secrets of his own.
I absolutely loved this book! The story started right in on the action from page one, and didn't let up. It seems like there are stories everywhere in the media on cults these days, and for someone who loves to read about them, this book was perfect.
I highly recommend this if you are looking for a fast paced, well written romantic suspense.

Hidden opens up with intensity and drama in author Rebecca Zanetti’s character’s Malcolm West and Pippa Smith, and then trails off into a confusing mist of random bouts of slapstick humor that really did not fit in with the beginning of the books dark overtones, random moments of unnecessary BDSM between Pippa the trauma survivor and Malcolm the PTSD sufferer, and too many storylines to focus on the central drama. If Zanetti’s goal was to set up a storyline for the next book in this series, the amount of time spent focusing on the other sideline characters came across as premature, forced and unnatural.

I also found myself heartily disliking Pippa— I thought a lot of her behavior was utterly dumb— especially after being in hiding for many years she cluelessly ‘forgets’ all of her fixed training when Malcolm’s pretty face comes into her starved view.

I really wanted this book to be an intense, action packed thriller, instead Hidden read like a wannabe sexy episode of Criminal Minds, and I’m still trying to come to terms with the impression left in my well-read imagination.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Advanced Readers Copy via Netgalley...:)

I am a huge fan of this author so when I heard there was a new series coming out, I could not get my hands on this book fast enough........and of course it did not disappoint.

Pippa is a recluse and unless she really has to, then she does not leave her house. She has been hiding for years and staying hidden has what has kept her alive all this time.

Malcom is a ex detective. After being undercover on a assignment for the last 2 years, in which he became friends with his mark who he was then forced to kill, he is having a hard time putting everything behind him and moving on. When he moves in to his new house in a quite neighbourhood he is immediately drawn to the pretty women hiding behind the curtains watching him move in.

What neither of these 2 know is that strings are being pulled in order for them to live next door to each other. Malcom is being recruited to join a new task force and he soon learns that his shy neighbour is not all what she seems to be........hidden passports, $20 000 worth of cash, a bug out bag....these do not compute with the women that he is drawn too. Mal will have to go undercover again as he races against time to find out what Pippa is hiding.

I enjoyed these 2 characters and of course being introduced to the rest of the Requisition Force who we will get to see more of as the series unfolds.......Oh did I mention the hilarious high heel wearing, bourbon drinking, lipstick eating dog?

Another great read from the queen of mystery and suspense and I cannot wait till the next book in the series!!!!

Another great series by Rebecca Zanetti. Malcolm West is an undercover cop who came so close to his own destruction that he buys a house off the beaten path. Hidden on the adjoining property is Pippa who literally locks herself away from everything. Occult infiltration is necessary before the day of reckoning results in death. Great characters and adventure that will prove to be a new series not to miss. "A copy of this book was provided by Kensington Books via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

I thought the plot of this romantic suspense book sounded really interesting, so I decided to give it a try; I'm so glad I did! I was riveted to the storyline of this first book in a new series. Because this is the first book in a series, some time is spent setting the stage for this entire group and introducing all the characters, not just the two leads in this story. However, every second is worth it. All of the characters are so well developed that I am already excited about reading each of their stories. The writing itself flows very well, and the intrigue is nicely done. The two main characters in this one--Mal and Pippa--are wonderful together; their journey to their HEA is hard-earned and a delight to be a part of. This is the first book I've read by this author, and I'm really happy to have had this opportunity to discover her via NetGalley. I hope all the books in the series are this well done.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for providing an ARC for review.

What happens when two people are living lies and those lies converge by pure chance?

Malcolm is a former undercover cop just looking for some R&R in his new home when his past career comes back to haunt him. There’s a new task force being formed and Malcolm lands smack dab where they wanted him to be. Next door to their mark, Pippa.

Pippa escaped her former cult family, only to go into hiding from the leader. She’s become kind of a shut-in, rarely venturing out for fear of being located. She’s tough and determined to survive alone, but there’s just something about her new neighbor that has her intrigued...and feeling butterflies.

I was excited to learn Zanetti had a new series and thrilled with this cast of characters. The suspense came later than I expected, but the storyline was strong and the romance was great. I also liked the Requisition Force team members. The oddball group was diverse and highly entertaining, including Roscoe, the wackiest German Shepherd I’ve ever read! I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in the series!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Pippa has passports in different names, different identities and a whole lot of secrets that scare her and overwhelm her, so when a tough looking Malcolm moves in next door she has every reason to be suspicious. He's scarred, tough and focused, and she should be running in the opposite direction instead of into his arms. This darkly sexy and intense man knows how to reach Pippa at her most vulnerable. When she finds out that the ex-undercover cop is better at the lying game than she is, Pippa knows that the people who are trusting her need her now more than ever. Hiding from a dangerous cult with a “cleansing” mission isn't to be taken lightly. Can she do what needs to be done alone?

Malcolm and the new team he is on are as imperfect as they come. Together they will battle and find the truth even if they have their own agendas. They'll need to co-operate long enough to save Pippa and her friend. That's when an under-cover ex-cop comes into play.

At times this book is intense and nervy, but out of the blue it will make you laugh out loud. It's full of twists and unique individuals who will entertain and draw you into their world. Make way for a new team that has ripped muscles, strange animals and brains. This one will capture you.

I loved this book The characters were so well developed and sucked you in more as the pages turned. Pippa was a great character who had a bad childhood and had escaped from a cult. Mal was an ex-cop but was investigating the cult with another agency. There was lots of action and some suspense as the story unfolded along with some humor. Secondary characters were also well developed and made me want to read more about them. Along with interesting characters there was also Roscoe, a German Shephard with his own little quirks and great personality. I couldn't put this book down! I look forward to the next book in this series!

Highly suspenseful and quite the story line. I could not wait to see where it was going and who was doing what. Only frustration I had was it took a little to long to find out exactly why Pippa was hiding and why she was they way she was. I almost put it down because I was tired of waiting and the other parts of the story were getting good and I didn't just want to skip ahead and miss those parts. Loved the character introductions and have to say the dog makes the story and the band of misfits coming together will make for great future reads. their personalities and quarks were explained by their interactions with others and not just narrated which often times becomes boring.. By expressing their personalities in their conversations and actions, it allows the reader to get a glimpse into their questionable background and makes you think about what happened in their background to make them they way they are now. By far an excellent read and will definitely look forward to another in the series.

Pippa has been hiding for years from a cult she escaped from. She is a shut in and has only one friend Trixie, that escaped with her. The Prophet of the cult wanted her as his and planned to marry her when she turned eighteen but she left the night before.
Malcolm aka Mal was an undercover cop but has retired and moved in next door to Pippa. He gets a job offer to work with Homeland Defense Department but they are on their own. His assignment is to find out what Pippa knows about the cult. So he’s undercover once again. It’s hard to get close because she’s afraid of people. He slowly works his way in and becomes infatuated with her. Pippa thinks he’s a government worker that keeps requisitions for paper, pens, etc. Mal is also going undercover at the cult to find out what they are planning and how long they have to stop it.
Pippa finds out Mal has known who she was the whole time and she packs her stuff and leaves. Before she gets far she gets a call from Isaac, the supposed prophet, wanting her to return or he’ll kill her friend Trixie. Before she gets to go, Mal catches her and takes her back to the office. Where she is interrogated and then a plan is made to stop Isaac but she must go to him. Mal isn’t happy but can he save her in time before all heck breaks loose?
This is the first in a new series and I absolutely love it!! You have a crazy cult, action, lies, sex, an alcoholic dog and a cute kitten. The characters are interesting and funny. The story will keep you hooked until the very end. I can’t wait for the next one. Ms. Zanetti knows her stuff and writes it so you feel like you’re right there with them.
