This book took me awhile to read. Honestly, is was slow to capture my interest and I kept putting it down and starting something else. The premise intrigued me, so I wasn't going to give up, but it did take longer than I would have liked to get interested in the plot. Once it got my attention, however, I did enjoy it. I'm still not exactly sure how I feel about the connection between our hero and heroine, but I did end up loving the evil cult leader and his brainwashed followers. It made for an interesting read.

It is simple… Zanetti is one of the best. If you haven’t read anything by Zanetti before here is your chance to start with a new series.

Imagine if you just needed to get away and hide and you thought you were safe. Well in this case both Malcolm and Pippa both feel this way and yet they have been set up to be together. Now what?

Well that is what this story finds out. And with Zanetti telling the tale you will not be disappointed in the answer… I really enjoyed this story. I do not know where Zanetti comes up with her ideas but I am sure glad she does.

Can’t wait to read more of this series.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Great start to a new series. A plot full of suspense, intrigue, and romance. The characters were well developed and the chemistry between Malcolm and Pippa was hot from the very beginning. The dog scenes brought humor to a very intense storyline. Received a copy from Netgalley and I am voluntarily giving this review.

One would expect Pippa to remain hidden from the cult that she left years ago and she has found a good place to hide and made a simple life. Malcolm West moves into the house next door and Pippa finds herself fascinated by the handsome and scarred man. They soon become close to each other but each is manipulating the other and trying to stay ahead of danger.

This is a great beginning to a new romantic suspense series and I can hardly wait for the next story!

I would like to thank Zebra Publishing and the Netgalley website for this partnership.

I was immediately attracted by the blanket, we see Pippa escaping terror, now that she is gradually escaping from that; she observes her neighbour through the window.

As for Malcolm, an undercover cop finds a bungalow to start from scratch. But fate will bring them together.

A captivating book full of suspense and twists and turns. The characters of Pippa and Malcolm are endearing. I love this author's pen, eager to read on.

I love this great new series from Rebecca Zanetti !

Rebecca Zanetti writes the absolute best romantic suspense. She is one of my automatic buy authors so I couldn't wait to dive into her new series. The author introduced a new group of sexy cool good guys that already have me addicted. I loved Malcolm and Pippa. They both had mysterious pasts and baggage to overcome that kept me on the edge of my seat from page one all the way to the end. The question, or rather the point of the story, was which one was which one was keeping the bigger secret. There were many twists and at one point I felt so bad for Pippa and her friend. The author certainly knows how to get the characters feelings across in the story.

I really loved this one and can't wait for the next book.

I had issues with this book. I liked some aspects of it and didn't like some others.

The suspense in the storyline was done really well and I wanted to find out what was going to happen next.
I didn't like some aspects of the romance i.e spanking etc. I'm not offended by the content, it just came out of nowhere for the characters and it didn't sit right in the story.
The introduction of the side characters and the silly humour with the dog and cat all felt very forced and contrived.

This wasn't the best of the author's work but it was ok.

Oh, my! I am a HUGE fan of Zanetti's Dark Protector's series. I didn't think I would fall in love with another of her series' again...but I was wrong! Intrigue. Suspense. Steamy romance (Zanetti knows her stuff!). A heroine who is more than just "strong" or needs to be protected, Pippa is an interesting combination of both that makes you fall in love with her as a character. Highly recommend this book.

Summary from Goodreads:

"Hide. That’s all Pippa can do to escape the terror chasing her. But now that she’s off the grid in a safe house, she finds plenty of interesting things to watch through the window. Like her new neighbor, with his startling green eyes, killer smile, and sexy bad-boy tattoo . . .

Run. Malcolm West is fleeing the hell he unleashed in his last assignment as an undercover cop. A backwoods bungalow sounds like the perfect place to start over. Until he discovers he’s been set up . . .

Fight. Someone’s gone to a lot of trouble to bring them together. No matter how much he resents that, and his own driving needs, Malcolm will have to dig deep and let loose the banished killer inside himself, or Pippa’s fears could come true faster than the flip of a bolt in a lock . . ."

My Thoughts:

Funny story with this book: I started reading it unintentionally at my son's football game. To be fair this was the varsity game which he only usually dresses for but doesn't usually play in (he starts on both offense and defense for JV but that's neither here nor there). Our varsity team was getting stomped so I decided to download a book to my phone during a break in the game. Which turned into me almost missing my son FINALLY going in because shortly after I was sucked into the book and not paying attention to the game any longer. Luckily my youngest announced that his brother was in the game so we didn't miss it. It's a mark of how readable and compelling I found this book that I was even able to read during a loud football game. I have to admit I was instantly sucked in! This is my second book by this author and both reads (two separate series) were books that I just could not stop reading. The thing that made this book so compelling for me was that the two main characters were both hiding major secrets from each other while also beginning a relationship. A relationship that may or may not have survived if the other found out about the other's secrets. It's a twisty read like that and as much as I wanted each of the characters to be honest with the other one already, I also found that I couldn't put this book down because of the tension created from those secrets. I also really enjoyed the humorous moments that the author included in this book. Malcolm's new work team is filled with amazing secondary characters that I'm looking forward to each getting their own book. I'm especially a fan of the quirky German Shepard names Roscoe - some of his funnier moments where the perfect break from all of the seriousness and tension that filled the pages of this book. I found that the pages of this book just flew on by - so fast that before I knew it I was at the end and was reading as fast as I could to see how it would all turn out. It turned out to be a very enjoyable read for me that I'm glad I picked up!

Overall, I really enjoyed my time with this book and am looking forward to reading more books featuring these characters. I love a good romantic suspense but don't always find authors that do it well. This author does romantic suspense well though and has me adding the rest of her books to my TBR list (it's out of control anyways so why not). And the good news is that I have lots of her other books waiting for me to catch up on while I wait for the second book in this series to release. Always a good thing in my opinion! I don't have much else to say as I really don't want to give anything away with this book. It was a very enjoyable read that I think other romance readers will enjoy. If you are a fan of romantic suspense and you're not reading this author - I feel like you missing out. I certainly was! Recommended!

Bottom Line: An edgy and compelling read that left me unable to stop reading!

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book thanks to the publisher and NetGalley. Thoughts are my own.

Another great series by Rebecca Zanetti. I loved all the characters introduced and can’t wait to see how the next stories unfold.

What makes this series stand out from Rebecca’s other action series, is that the people of Requisition Force are cobbled together from misfits from FBI, Police, Homeland, etc. Each of them has either quit their jobs or have been put on personal leave and most have issues. I mean, even the dog has issues. It is going to be some fun while it all unfolds.

In Hidden, it is not just dumb luck that ex-undercover officer Malcolm West found the perfect house away from everything. Angus Force is putting together a team whose main goal is to catch a serial killer who is supposed to already be dead, and also to solve cases none of the other bureaus will investigate. Right now, Angus wants Mal keeping an eye on his next door neighbor. Pippa Smith isn’t a shut in nor is she part of the witness protection program, but she doesn’t go out much and if she does she avoids being noticed at all costs.

Pippa Smith escaped from a cult about seven years ago, but the cult leader was fixated on her. He has been looking for her ever since. He believes he is part of great plan given to him from God for bringing hellfire down on the unworthy–or he is a real crackpot. It doesn’t matter because whatever the reason, he is clever, charismatic and very, very dangerous. And he had intended Pippa to be his wife and stand by his side in his glory.

Requisition Force knows about the cult, but they aren’t sure if Pippa has been sent out as a scout to begin preparations for their terrorist attack so they want Max to get close to her and use his undercover skills to infultrate the cult.

Mal left the force when the pressure of undercover work became too much and his last mission went sour. Now he will be burning the candle at both ends between Pippa and the cult. Can he keep both of his roles separate or will the whole thing blow up in his face before he can get the information that he needs?

I am looking forward to getting more of the back story on each of these very interesting characters and seeing where it all goes.

This is my first book by Rebecca Zanetti, so I didn't really know what to expect.
Overall, I enjoyed hidden. Romantic suspense is one of my favorite genres and Hidden certainly fit the bill. With this being the first book and a Black Ops group to set up, there was a lot of worldbuilding. I did find parts of the book to move somewhat slowly and I ended up skimming parts of it.

I still enjoyed it and I have high hopes for this series.

In Hidden, we follow Malcolm, an ex-cop who just finished being undercover, and Pippa, a 24 years old woman who ran away from a cult when she was 18. They both have secrets and hidden scars. And their paths are also going to converge when Malcolm ends up being undercover with the cult in question.

It's been a while since I've read a romantic suspense and I'm glad to report that I enjoyed reading it. It was a steamy, face-paced and overall really interesting read. I was hooked from the start and Hidden is a good start for this new series. The ending leaves you satisfied. Now I'm wondering what the next book is going to be about. Or what couple is it going to focus on! Also, Roscoe put an humorous touch just where you need it.

Oh the start of a new romantic suspense series! I was riveted by Poppa and Malcolm 's story! They both are broken yet tough. The resilience of these characters appealed to me. I'm anxiously awaiting the rest of the series as we got to know several of Malcolm 's fellow agents.

This is a little like an agency for almost washed up agents, but their stories are mysterious and compelling!

My rating: 4.5 Stars

Both Pippa Smith and Malcolm West are in flight. Pippa is hiding in a safe house after escaping a dangerous cult. She is still in grave danger. Malcolm is a cop and his flight is for a different reason. He experienced quite a difficult time during his last undercover assignment. He thinks that he will have time to regroup. He has no time to do that, however. He is quite incensed when he learns that he is being assigned to infiltrate a cult while getting close to a former cult member at the same time. As close as possible, that is. His assignment is none other than Pippa Smith.

Malcolm is part of a Special Ops team led by Wolfe. Malcolm learns that the cult is much more than brainwashing people in the name of exclusive worship to a charismatic leader. The cult may be planning a mass attack with bombs. Malcolm takes his assignment quite seriously. He quickly develops an intense intimate relationship with Pippa, and realizes his attraction to her goes beyond the physical. Pippa is torn. She is dealing with her time in the cult, the ever-present danger she is in even now and her growing feelings towards Malcolm.

Hidden is an incredibly thrilling book! Whether the cult is mentioned, the impending attack, or how things are evolving between Pippa and Malcolm, this story is a true time-stealer. This multi-layered story was quite riveting. It was truly impelling and I could not put it down. Add to all of this were the incredible characters. Most assuredly Malcolm and Pippa were outstanding, but then there was the Deep Ops team, including Wolfe, Angus, Raider and Brigid, to name a few. Of course, I have to at least mention Roscoe the dog and Kat the kitten. Loved them too.

The romance between Pippa and Malcolm happened in a flash, but the level of intrigue was definitely present throughout. This was an incredibly fast-paced story. As things began to draw to a close, the impelling danger was truly a page-turner.

This is the first book that I have read by Rebecca Zanetti as it was sent to me by the publisher. Hidden is book #1 in the Deep Ops series. It will be followed by Taken in 2019 and will have Raider Tanaka’s story.

Many thanks to Kensington Books for the print ARC for review.

I really needed this fast paced, high energy and sexy read. Malcom had the broody damaged hero part down to a science. Pippa had more layers than you'd ever be able to peel back. What I loved about this first installment of the new series is again Rebecca Zanetti has a way of making every single character in a book count in a way that when they're getting page time you can't decide what grabs you more, them or the main couple.
So many amazing characters. Even Roscoe wow an alcoholic, shoe steeling (to wear then eat) dog. With more quirks than a 12 step program could help with. Then of course the master of the whole rodeo, Agent Angus Force. He's got some pretty cool mind reading abilities that's for sure.
Loved the romance and that's always my favorite thing. Malcolm and Pippa had such chemistry and the lies they both bad to tell didn't keep them from grabbing hold of that once in a lifetime chance.
I can not wait to see where this series will go

For me, the book wasn't as fast-paced as I expected it to be. It seems to take a long time to actually get into the plot and why Pippa was truly the way she was. It seems that the romance between Pippa and Malcolm was pretty quick yet they both seem to be good for each other. Though it was kind of weird to have them fall for each other while having trust issues.

Pippa has been on the run so when Malcolm moves in next door she is on her toes about it, but yet her heart says differently. Malcolm just wants to be left alone yet it seems that the government has other things for him instead. We see how far Malcolm is willing to go to get the answers he needs, yet will he lose himself in the process?

I can honestly say I have always loved how people can go undercover and become two people. I do have to say my favorite character I can tell will be Wolf and his Kat, along with Roscoe the dog. I may look into reading book 2 to see if it will be any good. I think the author has a great writing style just keep the pace up and not let it slag.

There is plenty of romance that will go on, so make sure you are ready for that.

This book was great! I've enjoyed reading Rebecca Zanetti's books, but this might be my favorite. It has a strong plot, a sexy hero, a smart and brave heroine, great secondary characters (wait until you meet Kat & Roscoe), and lots of action. I couldn't put it down.

I enjoyed this book. The humor in it was a refreshing change. While I did like the hero at the beginning, his personality changed and I didn't enjoy him as much. He was so sweet and charming but then became possessive and dominating which was annoying. I really liked the set up of the cast of characters and their dynamic and am looking forward to the next in the series.

This is the first book in the new series deep ops. What an amazing series this is going to be! This book draws you in from the first page, and you won't want to put it down! I couldn't stop until it was finished, and then I was sad that it was over. This is about Pippa and malcolm, and what a pair these two are. Pippa is a shut in and malcolm is an ex detective. You just know theres a great story there with those two facts. I highly recommend this book, and I can't wait until the next book in the series!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.

I can't believe it took me so long to get to this book. It was freaking amazing! I loved the vulnerability of Mal and Pippa and what they had to go through to he together. It drew you in and made you root for them to win. I loved it. I was also extremely impressed with how Rebecca made me fall in love with all of Mals team. I dont think o can wait for the next book. I can't decide if i want Nari or Brigids book first. Either way both are going to be awesome. 8 would definitely recommend this new amazing series to friends and family and i cant wait to see what happens to this group next.
