Bailey is finally settling in to her life in Harvest, Ohio, helping her Amish grandmother run the family candy store. Then her past swoops in, bringing chaos and murder into her life. I absolutely love this series, and this book was almost perfect. The only issue I had was with Bailey herself. She seems unable to say no to anyone, and it is a little bit annoying at times. Other than that, I loved the mystery, and that a certain romance starts to bloom. I would recommend this book, and can't wait for the next.

In the third installment of Amanda Flower's series I found the growth of the characters amazing. The story, although slow in parts did hold my attention. The build up to the conclusion was quite steady in the last half of the book but honestly the ending was a complete surprise!
I will definitely be reading the next in the series!

Premeditated Peppermint is the third book in the An Amish Candy Shop Mystery series.

Another wonderful addition to his this delicious series.

Bailey, her grandmother, and Charlotte are busy making Peppermint Bark and other different types of peppermint candies as they prepare for the Harvest(OH) Christmas Market. The last person she wants or expects to see walks through the door at Swissmen Sweets. That would be Eric Sharp, Bailey’s former boyfriend, and celebrity chef. He claims that he wants to see what an Amish Christmas Holiday in the country is like. He plans to film his time in Harvest and to air on his cooking show. Eric’s real reason is that he wants to win Bailey’s heart back. Bailey has no intention of getting back with him and if they won’t take out the romantic link in the filming there will be no show at all. Rocky Rivers, the show’s executive producer, asks Bailey to meet her at the gazebo across from Swissmen Sweets the next morning to discuss what Bailey is willing to go along with. The next morning as Bailey is approaching the gazebo she notices that a string of lights decorating the gazebo has come loose, but then when she looks into the gazebo she sees the body of Rocky, with a string of lights wrapped around her throat and Eric standing over her lifeless body. Eric swears that he didn’t kill her and pleads for her help in finding the murderer. Bailey reluctantly agrees, but not so much to clear Eric’s name but to find the killer or Rocky as she thinks they could have become good friends.

As Bailey begin to look into the murder, she has to admit to herself that Eric certainly looks likely, but she also learns that Rocky was one to do whatever was needed to get what she wanted. She soon learns that Josie, the make-up girl had a loud argument with Rocky the night before her death. Also, the owner of the Keim Christmas Tree Farm, Thad Keim is making it difficult to locate, what might he be hiding.

This is another well-told and plotted story from Ms. Flower. Most all of the regular characters are back. Margot Rawlings is back and once again making life difficult for Bailey. Juliet Brody and her pot-belly pig, Jethro, are back and giving quite a few chuckles. And of course, Aiden Brody is busy policing the streets of Harvest and the romantic interest in Bailey is going smoothly.

Recipes are also included with the book.

I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this sweet series.

Premeditated Peppermint is the third installment in Amanda Flower’s An Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. This is an easy to read confectionery cozy set in the Ohio Amish country, with great characters and an interesting and entertaining mystery. The story flows smoothly and the author is very talented in her descriptive and witty writing. This well plotted mystery was difficult to solve, with multiple suspects and plenty of clues to sift through. I was surprised when the culprit was revealed.

Bailey King gave up her job as an assistant chocolatier at JP Chocolates in New York City to move to Harvest, Ohio to help her Amish grandmother after her grandfather passed away. Bailey isn’t Amish, but her father, who left the Amish community before she was born, was. As a child, Bailey always spent the summer with her grandparents, Jebediah and Clara King, and learned to love chocolates in their Amish candy shop, Swissmen Sweets. Juliet Brody, who has a white polka-dotted potbellied pig named Jethro, is still convinced her son, Aiden and Bailey will someday marry. Clara, her young Amish cousin, Charlotte, and Bailey are making lots of different peppermint treats for the Harvest Christmas Market. The event organizer, Margot Rawlings, has arranged for a live nativity scene, including a camel. Eric Sharp, a celebrity chef and Bailey’s ex-boyfriend shows up unannounced with a TV crew to film an Amish Christmas special for his reality baking show and hoping to rekindle his relationship with Bailey. She doesn’t want have anything to do with him on a personal level, but she does see the value of the publicity the show for Swissmen Sweets. Being on television isn’t something accepted by the Amish community and filming couldn’t be done without the approval of her Maami since it’s her shop and her Maami’s Amish district, bishop, and deacon, which Bailey suspected wouldn’t happen. Bailey’s best friend, Cassandra “Cass” Calbera, travels to Ohio from New York to offer support. Bailey was on her way to meet with Rocky Rivers, the executive producer, to discuss filming inside Swissmen Sweets and confirm that Eric and her rekindling anything wasn’t even a remote possibility when she notices the gazebo’s blue and white twinkle lights were drooping from the eaves. Thinking she can fix the lights, Bailey enters the gazebo and discovers Rocky’s body in the middle of the gazebo with the strand of lights wrapped around her neck and Eric standing over her. Eric knows he looks guilty and begs Bailey to help him clear his name. Eric becomes the prime suspect, but Bailey believes he’s innocent because he’d never do anything to jeopardize his career. Bailey and Cass ask questions and snoop around and Bailey finds herself in harm’s way.

I received this ARC via Netgalley in return for an honest review. Great heroine (Bailey King); great setting of a small Amish town in which Bailey comes to live with her grandmother and run the family chocolate shop. This is the second in a series and you don't need to have read the first one to enjoy this book. It's well written; the characters are well developed. You learn a good bit, while Bailey solves the murder, about the Amish community and chocolate making. Bailey's ex turns up and wants her shop to star in his new food tv show and he assumes that Bailey and her Amish grandmother will think this is a great idea. Not so fast. Bailey has the beginnings of a relationship with the local Deputy Sheriff and the ex's return also causes challenges with that. It's a good cosy and I'll look for more books by this author. Her next is set in NYC, where she and her Amish cousin go for work - hmmm, that's a great combination, isn't it?

Bailey King has just come back to Holmes County to help her grandmother in the candy shop, and it is time for the Harvest Christmas Festival. Christmas is Bailey's favorite time of the year. There are some funny characters in this book, there is Juliet and her pig Jethro. Also Margot the person in charge of the festival. Of course there has to be a murder, because we all know, if you are an avid reader of Amanda's books that Bailey is known for finding dead bodies. I thought for sure I knew who the killer was, but not was I wrong. I did not figure it out this time. I am not going to go into what the book was about, because it would just spoil it for you. If I could have given it more than 5 stars I would have. Amanda outdid herself again. Keep up the great writing!!!!

I received a digital copy from Kensington Books and NetGalley.

Premeditated Peppermint is the third book in the Amish Candy Shop series. This was my introduction to the series and I was able to figure out the characters, and what was going on without feeling lost.

I really enjoyed the book and as soon as I was finished, I wanted to read the first book in the series! This story takes place in Amish country around Christmastime. The characters were likable and down to earth, well most of them were. It was a fast read and I was surprised to see how the story ended.

This book will be released in late September.

This is the third book in the Amish candy shop series. Bailey King is getting ready for the Christmas season in Harvest , Ohio. She gets a surprise when her ex boyfriend shows up with his film crew to film a traditional Amish christmas. But the first night, his executive producer is murdered in the town gazebo. Now bailey must work to piece together the clues and catch a killer.

I love all the characters in the book. Juliet and her pig jethro are so entertaining. I love bailey's grandmother and her cousin Charlotte. I also like that the book was set around Christmas time because I love the feel of small towns at Christmas. There were a few twists that I didn't see coming. I am already looking forward to the next book to see where the story takes us.

I received this book from net galley in exchange for an honest review.

As the book opens we find Bailey King back in her grandmother's candy shop preparing for her first Christmas in Amish country. Her spirits are dampened, however, when her ex-boyfriend, Eric, shows up with a TV crew to shoot an Amish Christmas special - which Bailey knows nothing about. Add to it Bailey's uncertain love life, the ire of an Amish girl once a friend, and a job offer is a dead body. Never a dull moment. Eric begs Bailey to help him clear his name. As much as Bailey is not fond of Eric, she knows he is not guilty and sets out to prove it.

I love books by Amanda Flower. She just has a wonderful storytelling style with likeable characters you want to invest your time with. That said, this is not my favorite book. It's certainly not terrible by any stretch of the imagination - it's just not as good, in my opinion, as the first book in the series. I will have to say, however, that I was pleased to learn there is a fourth coming in the series (Toxic Coffee). Miss Flowers' series tend to end after three books (MUCH to my disappointment) so I was very excited to see that this one will continue. This is certainly a series I continue to follow.

Amanda Flower. Premeditated Pepperment
Peppermint was going to be the name of the game at the Harvest Christmas Market for Bailey and her grandmother. One ex boyfriend came saying he wanted to know what a country Christmas was like, then the film crew came in, for his television show. Then the woman producer comes in, saying” Why to show the country side, and.Eric’s heart for the country people”...Her no, when they showed her a permit, then wondering would it help her business When a murder happens, and Eric is prime suspect, he is trying to sweet talk Bailey into help clearing him. With her boyfriend the sheriff, is against. A lot of twist to this story, of who really was the producer.. A fast pace, good plot, and with people we once again want to read about, in this book 3.. Given ARC by Net Galley and Kensington for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

If I see Amanda Flower, I pick up the book. I realized early on there was something different about the murder victim. Having said that, I was way off base regarding the murderer! Part of the soryline was disappointing but I'll just have to wait to see where it takes us. I wish I was there for Christmas.

Premeditated Peppermint is book 3 in the Amish Candy Shop Mysteries. This series has become my favorite cozy series I have ever read. The books start out with someone being murdered. This time a woman was murdered in a gazebo. I correctly guessed that the woman was not who she seemed. I did not guessed who murdered her. This book kept me guessing.

On thing I have enjoyed about this series is the humor. There is a character Juliet who has this pet pig that she treats like her child. It is quite funny when she comes on the scene. This same woman also has a nice looking son who is in law enforcement. Juliet has it in her mind that Bailey and her son Aiden will someday marry. Of course there is some attraction between Bailey and Aiden but they haven't even gone on a first date yet.

Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington books for providing me an e-copy of this book to read and review. Premeditated Peppermint will be released on September 25, 2018.

After reading most, if not all, of this Amish series, one thing I really enjoy in the interaction between the Amish and non-Amish. Interesting characters, wonderful setting, well written mystery, and all that chocolate makes my hungry!

I discovered this series thanks to netgalley and I’m eternally grateful. I can’t wait to learn more about Bailey and this peculiar community. This time Eric makes an appearance wanting to film Holmes County... I love cozy mysteries and love triangles!

I have mixed feelings about this book. I liked the story but the main character Bailey was a total wimp. She let everybody walk all over her and had zero backbone and that ruined the story for me.

Amanda Flower never disappoints. Each of her books is better than they last. She creates interesting characters and plots with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing all the way through. Bailey King has left her job as a chocolatier at a prestigious New York firm after a breakup with her former boyfriend Eric who was a famous pastry chef to settle in her Amish grandparents candy shop in Harvest, Ohio. It's Christmas time when Eric shows up at her shop asking her to be part of a Christmas special he is filming for his tv show on the Gourmet Network. Bailey is reluctant to participate but schedules a meeting with Rocky Rivers, the executive producer of the show, because she thinks being on the show might help grow their online business. When she goes to meet Rocky she finds her dead body, strangled with a strand of Christmas lights, and Eric standing over the body. When Bailey's new love interest, Deputy Sheriff Aiden, fingers Eric as the main suspect, Bailey believes him to be innocent and sets out to find the real murderer. This book is filled with great people, a lovely setting and , most of all, delicious peppermint and chocolate candies. It's impossible to put down!
