In Leslie Meier's 25th Lucy Stone Mystery, appropriated titled Silver Anniversary Murder, Tinker's Cove, Maine is preparing for a festive Silver Anniversary Weekend, celebrating couples who've been married for at least 25 years, which causes Lucy to become nostalgic about her own wedding. She tries to contact her oldest friend (and maid of honor) Beth Gerard, but is devastated to learn that Beth has apparently killed herself by jumping to her death from the balcony of her New York City penthouse apartment. Despite all the evidence, Lucy is convinced that Beth's death was actually a murder, and sets off to look into the matter. In typical Lucy Stone fashion, trouble quickly finds her in the big city, and it doesn't take long for her to realize that investigating Beth's untimely demise could be more than she can handle. Excellent storytelling, as usual, by Leslie Meier, and I guessed neither the murderer nor the reason until they were revealed - lots of little red herrings! 5 stars!

This engaging mystery takes Lucy Stone, one of my favorite amateur sleuths, out of her comfort zone in Tinker's Cove, Maine and into the bustling world of her childhood home in New York City. Lucy is at work at the Pennysaver when the held of the local chamber of commerce brings news of local bridal shop owner Sylvia Bickford's plan to host a Silver Wedding Anniversary weekend, asking all the townswomen to wear their bridal gowns at a celebration. Lucy goes home and pulls out her bridal gown, which brings her back to memories of her childhood best friend, Beth. She calls Beth and is greeted by Beth's son Dante, who informs Lucy that his mother recently committed suicide. Lucy can't believe that to be true, and arranges for a trip to New York to investigate. It was a pleasure to go on this trip with Lucy, to see her traveling around the city, meeting with people from both Beth's past and present as well as to see her in her home environment, meeting with local folks who have been married for twenty-five years for her article. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

It’s time for a celebration in Tinker’s Cove as Lucy Stone and her husband get ready to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Lucy wants her maid of honor Beth to be there, but she discovers Beth is dead, murdered. Lucy has never been one to shy away from solving a mystery and this time it’s personal. Readers of the series will enjoy the latest entry, even if there’s nothing new

Lucy Stone is fabulous in Silver Anniversary Murder, the 25th book in the series.
Lucy is one of my favorite characters and I enjoyed her role in this wonderful book.
This book is split between Tinker's Cove and New York City, which I found to be a pleasant experience.
The author wove a believable tale and I enjoyed the story from beginning to end.
Lucy Stone never disappoints me and this book showed a different side of her.
I volunteered to read and review an ARC of this book provided by the publisher and NetGalley.
