This was a very sweet devotional book. I enjoyed it for the most part and thought it was very thoughtfully written. I liked the author’s writing style a lot.

This was not my favorite women devotional. I didn’t feel the author provided unique insights. Towards the end, I was just focused on reading the verses. The verses that were chosen were not my favorites.

This book is full of inspirational devotionals that any woman (actually anyone) will find helpful and encouraging. It is full of easy to read short devotionals that anyone can find time to read. Examples are given for most of the readings from the author’s own life and others as well. It provides food for thought and reflecting, which we can all use. I highly recommend you reading this book.

Be encouraged as a woman

Darlene Sala leads "Guidelines International Ministries" with her husband. She has written multiple books to encourage women and uses also her weekly radio commentary toward this goal. Her book "You Are Blessed: Inspirations to Recharge Your Soul" was first published by Barbour Books in 2013. In the introduction Sala states: "It is important to take daily breaks to refresh the soul." She underlines that this book is not a substitute for Bible study. The book is geared toward busy twenty-first century women who are tired and drained and offers them encouraging readings. It is scripture-based with personal examples of her own live as well as examples from the life of others (e.g., Annie Johnson Flint, G. Campbell Morgan, Hannah Whitall Smith). Sala's book is easy to read with it short chapters. It is well done with nice graphics.
I recommend the book for exactly those women that Sala has in mind: women who are tired, drained, and busy when they need a quick encouragement and do not have the time for a deeper Bible study.

This devotional is uplifting and encouraging. Each devotion is short enough to be read in just a few minutes. I think it would be very helpful to most of us. Thanks to netgalley and Barbour Publishing for the arc. Thd opinion is my own.

This was a good devotional. It didn’t feel super deep. Although it wasn’t phenomenal, I would still recommend this to other people.

This is a good book if you have gotten away from God and need to find some hope in your life. If you are going through some difficult times, this is a good book to read. If you are very Christian, or just need some guidance, this book is for you.

A beautifully written devotional teeming with encouragement and uplifting scripture. These devotionals are 'snack size' and perfect for a mid-day pick me up to keep you heart and mind focused on God.
