This was my first Meagan's book.
When I saw on blurb that it will be enemies to lovers story I thought : Yes, that's one of my favorites trope in books, so I need to read.. Mostly I like it, but I can give only 3 stars.
Starting this book I was full of hope because cover was really encouraging but I feel little disapionted right now... Iin general this book was written good. I just can't say that's typical hate to love stories, or second chance romance, because I don't see this here as much as I would like to see. . Obviously there were angsty moments, tension between main characters was not bad, but for me something was missing. I couldn't dive in this story.

Of course what I write is only my opinion, maybe someone love what I didn't like in this story.
If You curious about Irish on the Rocks You need find out by Yourself what is this book like.

This was a relatively quick romance read and I really enjoyed it. I did however struggle to connect to the characters. I didn’t dislike them but they didn’t wow me. I would like to read the first book in this series then see if I feel more of a connection to the family.

I enjoyed the story-line though it didn’t quiet fit the tropes that I was expecting. (not a great worry though) I still enjoyed reading the story.

The biggest plus for me was how well written this story was. I liked the flow and the structure and will definitely choose to read more by Magan Vernon in the future.

I would like to thank Magan Vernon and Social Butterfly PR for providing me with a copy of this book . This has not affected my opinion on this book

This author is new to me and i liked her writing style, the storyline is good and the characters are likeable, i was interested from the start and i couldn't stop turning the pages, i won't go into detail as the synopsis is there for that.

I received a copy from Netgalley and i am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion

When Grace's best friend Sean is late the charity gala they're supposed to be attending, she runs into his hot older brother, Jack. Jack who doesn't seem to recognize her now that she's not the frizzy-haired young girl who was best friends with his younger brother. As Jack is sitting there hitting on her, Grace decides to play along, amused that the guy she always had a crush on, and with whom she has a sort of antagonistic relationship, is now hitting on her. Of course though, Jack isn't quite as in the dark about her identity as he appears, he's just found himself attracted to her. But when she accidentally (on purpose?) spills her drink on him, he's a complete jerk about it, and walks away from her.

Grace chalks the whole incident up to him being his usual self and figures she'll not see him again. Well, until she receives an email from Jack's ex-assistant, now sister-in-law, Fallon, (Straight Up Irish) with an offer to apply for a job as Jack's new assistant. It seems fate (or someone else) has something else in mind for her and Jack. Sparks fly again when she comes in for her interview, but Jack knows she's the perfect person for the job. And perhaps for the job as his wife, too? Yeah, wife. Wife because Jack is the eldest brother in a family whose inheritance requires the brothers to be married within 6 months and to stay married, if they want to inherit the multi-million dollar empire rather than letting it get sold to the board for the highest bid.

I wanted to love Irish on the Rocks, but I just couldn't get into it. It's predictable as hell for one. Jack is jerk for another. And the whole story just sort of sat around without a lot of movement. This one's a no for me unfortunately.

Gracie is Sean's best friend, they have known each other forever and she is back after living in the UK due to her parents divorce and losing her job. Just went she thought she would be stuck at Grandmums Jack steps in with a bit of meddling by her Granddad and now she has a job and her and Jane Pawsten have a home of there own but now she has to see Jack all the time. This is a great read with plenty of frustrations at the characters, a few lol moments and a good will they or won't they story that sees both Grace and Jack step back and look at their lives and work through the doubts they have and what they really want.

This is the second standalone in the Murphy Brothers series and focuses on Jack and Grace and I honestly thought it was as enjoyable and fun as Book #1 (Straight Up Irish). Again, another Murphy man is faced with having to get married in able to inherit his father's company which leads to enjoyable Irish bantering, steamy chemistry and fun times. Another good read in this series! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

Irish On the Rocks is a sweet little romance with a bit of a twist.

Jack Murphy is the brother that is known as the ladies man. But you could almost assume he’s a little bored with the women he’s been dating in the past. Then Grace comes into the picture, which just so happens to be his brothers best friend. Grace is going through a lot. She doesn’t need anything else going on. But sometimes you can’t stop love, if it's going to happen, it will.

This was such an easy read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, I love a romance that touches my heart. With the Murphy’s that’s what you’ll get. Vernon has created these fantastic characters, which you can’t help but love.

Overall, I give this Five Boundless Stars.

This second book in The Murphy Brothers series was just as enjoyable as the first. This time it's Jack Murphy feeling the pressure of find a wife to satisfy the caveat in his father's will that requires all the brothers marry within a year before they can inherit the family whiskey business. How hard could it be to find a woman willing to enter into a marriage of convenience and not end of falling in love with him? Then it comes to him. Grace his pain in the neck assistant who thinks he's the devil himself. He'll just have to make the deal sweet enough for her to agree. Problem is he never planned on falling for the woman but the more time he spends with her the more he wants from her.

This book was very well done and one I would definitely recommend.

I liked this one. I had a little trouble with the first book in this series but I was really digging Jack and Grace in this second one. Nothing over the top or angsty, just a little ditty, ‘bout Jack and Grace. Seriously, Mellenchamp was a constant loop in my head throughout the whole book. Don’t know why but I still enjoyed the story.

I didn't realize this book was in a series so I haven't finished it. I picked it up then realized it was the second book. I put it down. I can't fully review this book until I finish the first one then get to this one. What I did read I did like though.

book 2 in the murphy brothers series, irish on the rocks, finds sean murphy's best friend, grace walsh, tangling with his older brother, jack. the premise of the series is that the brothers will inherit their family business, which is a wide-ranging brand of irish pubs if they meet the conditions of their father's will, which is that all three of them must be married within a year of his death.

in the first book of the series, straight up irish, the inheritance issue is seamlessly integrated into the romance. unfortunately, in this book, the condition doesn't work so well. too many people know about it and offer opinions on what the main characters should be doing about that and their attraction where i wanted just more of jack and grace.

because when jack and grace are alone, interacting without thinking of the inheritance thing, this book is so good. all the scenes with jack and jane pawsten are fantastic. the scenes with jack and grace in the market are fabulous too. i love how they talk to each other and their chemistry is so crazy off the charts.

the problem is that the dark moment in the book relates to the inheritance and not the actual issues between them where there was actual meat and depth. she had a competing job offer in her field. she was wary of commitment. his company is dublin based. he may not be ready to marry tomorow, but he does want that, and a commitment with grace.

this series is enjoyable, i just kind of wish the inheritance thing didn't hang over these characters so heavily. the whole clause is preposterous and part of me wishes that the relationships would spark naturally without the necessity for putting a ring on it quickly.

**irish on the rocks will publish on september 17, 2018. i received an advance reader copy courtesy of netgalley/entangled publishing (embrace) in exchange for my honest review.

This was an engaging read. With a great mix of characters, some of which were more likable than others, especially Jack and Grace. And it certainly was quick, easy, well paced and entertaining. Plus, it had plenty of Irish charm. Yet, there were moments when I got distracted from it. Thanks to a mix of Irish and English slang terms used. That at times seemed to get a little mixed up and used out of context. But still I enjoyed it and I'll certainly be checking out more from the Murphy Brothers in the future.

The model on on the cover of the book looks so innocent compared to the Jack’s brash character as described in the story. The brothers remind me of big rambunctious Dalmatian puppies who are always playing around. It is a light and fun story and Jane Pauwsey, the dog, is a huge hit. I love the smattering of Irish words with gives the story its authentic vibe. The guy gets the girl and the happy ending.

The Murphy Brothers have to marry before a deadline so they can inherit their family's pub empire. I adore this series. In this installment, the reader gets to know Jack, the eldest brother. Can Jack look up from his spreadsheets long enough to find love? Irish on the Rocks is a wonderful addition to the series. I can't wait for Sean's story. Thanks Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC of this title for review.

A marriage for the sake of the company is not going to fair well. However, childhood friends reuniting might have more staying power and find true love. Grace has known the Murphy's forever, her best friend is Sean, the youngest. Her relationship with Jack comes about because she needs a job. The push and pull between them is humorous and sweet, lots of sarcasm with plenty of Irish swearing. Add her little dog, Jane Pawsten, and everybody will fall for this story. Last up is Sean, our Irish rugby player. The series is fun and romantic, set in Ireland, with each story independent of the others. I received an early copy, my review written voluntarily.

Reading Magan Vernon's Irish on the Rocks about Jack and Grace left me with a big smile. I loved Connor and Fallon in Straight Up Irish, but this book has definitely become my favorite in the series so far!

Grace is best friends with Jack's brother Sean, and she and Jack haven't always gotten along very well. Their personalities are quite different, but they are so good together. Grace especially brings Jack out of his workaholic tendencies to enjoy life a little more.

I really enjoy Magan Vernon's writing style and can't wait for Sean's book.

I loved this book so much. It was a quick but sweet read and I loved Jack he had me from the beginning. Jack has to get married due to a clause in his father's will so he will be able to keep his father's company. Grace and Janey Pawsten was such awesome characters and I was with Grace if a man loves your dog that much you can't help but fall in love with him. Grace and Jack's relationship started off rocky but they couldn't stop the amazing chemistry that they had. I highly recommend this read now I want to go back and read Connor's story.

Murphy Brothers #2
Meet Jack, a very different Jack that we saw in book 1. This is Jack 2.0. Jack's story is the same as his brothers, he needs a wife to keep the family business in the family, with the middle brother Connor married to Jacks previous assistant, it leaves Jack in a rough spot. No wife, and no assistant willing to put up with his grouchy demanding self. Just when I thought door slamming went out with adolescence I am fooled again. The story picks up basically where book one ended.
At a charity gala he runs into a stunning young woman, this would be Grace, a best friend to the youngest brother Sean, Sean was he date for the night and he leaves her hanging. Grace is bored. Strikes up a convo with Jack, who initially doesn't recognize Grace and then plays with her when he finally does. Grace then while yanking his chain a little manages to topple over her drink, spilling it on Jack. Harsh words from both fly and Grace leaves. Grace doesn't need this nonsense, she's just moved from England to Dublin with her mum after a bitter divorce between her parents, which leaves her in the "I'll never marry, not ever" zone, losing her job after the publisher she works for downsizes and they're living with her very wealthy grandparents, her granddad happens to be on the board for Murphy's and is privy to the brother's dilemma. Also the fact that Grace needs a job. Grandmum is quite dotty in the head. Eccentric doesn't cover it and the woman has no filter. Her mother is a bitter, manipulative, sniping witch. Grace really needs out of there. Granddad mentions Grace needs a job and since she passes all the tests with flying colors, is now Jack's new assistant. Jack can't stop thinking about Grace, she's being trained by Fallon and has moved into the flat that comes with the job. Her and her little dog, who basically is another character in the story, or so it seemed. Jack and Grace are attracted to each other. They bob and weave their way through the book. Throw in a cousin of Grace's, no love lost between these two, yet another snarky witch, who also happened to date Jack at uni. Lots of drama, misunderstandings, a little OTT dumb a** commentary from Connor, the mother, the grandmum and it's one heck of a Disney ride. There were times when I really felt bad for Jack, even though he was so non-committal. Sean was great throughout the book. He and Grace have a long history. And there is the proverbial shoe drop shite, Jack does a Jack. So what happens?
Read the book. While this was not my favorite, I loved book one so much, the author certainly set the bar rather high. That's just my view and opinion. Such as it is.

Irish on the Rocks is the second in the Murphy Brothers series. I received an eArc from Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC in exchange for my honest opinion. I missed the first story in the series and Irish on the Rocks tells Jack's story. Jack is next in line for CEO of their family's company after their father died. Unfortunately, for Jack and his brothers, there was a clause in their father's will that required each of them to be married to inherit the company. Jack's role as CEO is just a placeholder until the time limit is reached. If all three of them are not married by the end of the time limit then the board gets a chance at running the company.

Grace is the childhood best friend of the third brother, Sean and he is very protective of Grace. Jack needs a wife but, he doesn't even realize his feelings for Grace until it is almost too late. Grace is vehemently opposed to marriage after witnessing the war between her parents during their divorce. Her mother came out of it scarred and with nothing, which I thought was odd given the circumstances. I can see how it would be disheartening for Grace. Unfortunately, her dad seems to have divorced Grace along with her mother. Obviously, she is an adult so there was no reason to assume she would get any kind of financial support from the divorce, but, the reader gets the picture that the dad is quite the jerk and he ripped the family apart and not just his marriage with his behavior. Grace is smart and quite skilled as an editor, unfortunately, she is currently without a job and they are living with her grandparents in Ireland. Grace is independent and is looking for a new job, as well as, hopefully, her own apartment, out from under her mother and grandparents.

Jack needs a new assistant and Grace needs a job so it seems logical that she would be the logical choice, especially since her grandfather, who is one of the board members over at Murphy's, recommended her. She is a great fit, and smart. She hits the ground running as an asset and she and Jack are quite attracted to each other. They are a good fit but, Grace doesn't want marriage and Jack worries that any mistakes will cause them to lose the company. It is a great romance and it was fun to see Jack relate to "Jane Pawsten", love that name! I am looking forward to seeing Sean drag his feet while trying to find his wife. Jack has known Grace forever, since she is his youngest brother's best friend. But the Grace he remembers from before is nothing like the woman he runs into at a gala. This is the second book in the Murphy Brothers series, with all the brothers up against the marriage clause deadline from their father's will. Grace was strong and opinionated, and it was nice to see a lighter side of Jack. Fun read, and Jane Pawsten, Grace's dog, is adorable.
