Be prepared for a turbulent, addictive and thrilling experience as Sherrilyn Kenyon brings Urian’s story to life in a long but excellent read that provokes a roller coaster of emotions as it keeps readers mesmerized throughout its the numerous years and settings. All of the characters in this story are solid, convincing characters that readers can’t help but be fascinated by, of course, if you read the Dark Hunter series, then you already know and love all of them and this book gives readers more detail in to their lives as well and also introduces some new characters. Urian has been a favorite since he was first introduced and this book just makes him all the more captivating as it gives readers an in depth look at his very long lifespan. The romance part of his life is troubled which is just one of many things that tugs at readers’ hearts but in a surprising twist, his happily ever after mate is not one that readers could anticipate and brings about a few other bombshells as well.

There is lots of exciting events, some of which readers would have read from other points of view in others’ stories, and getting them from Urian’s point of view puts a whole new spin on them when taken all together. These stories should be read in order because while this book gets into these events, it does not give whole picture and without that readers may not be able achieve maximum enjoyment of this book as it hops through a very long, troubled and thrilling history of Urian’s life story. Readers won’t want to put this book down, but will probably find that they have to because not only is it long but they will want to meticulously and covetously read every last word to ensure that they don’t miss a single important detail in any of Urian’s life experiences and interactions with the other characters of this spectacular world.

I was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley and the publishers for an honest review.
This was a very nice to gift to receive and I have enjoyed every word of this story/saga.
I have been a fan of theDark Hunter series and all the main characters for a long while and I was so pleased that Urian would finally get his own book. Well this book certainly goes into great depth about his life and all the suffering of his and his family and friends. The harsh realities of life in the time where the Gods of the different Pantheons ruled the peoples of Greece, Egypt and Atlantis. This story was a roller coaster of emotions where I went from angry to sad to grabbing for the box of tissues, to happy in one chapter after another. I was a bit let down in the end as it seemed that the story ended far to quickly and left me wondering and with to many questions still unanswered. All in all I loved this book. I must admit I did give up reading and started listening to it on audio as my local library had just got in a copy of this book. I found better if I listened to the great narrater tell the story as I seemed to be able to visualise the happenings in the story a lot better. I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next in this wonderful series.

Thanks Macmillan-Tor/Forge for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

This one really didn't get me as excited as others in the series. It's still a great book but very long.

Every now and then a Sherrilyn Kenyon book comes along and just blows me away. How she can keep up with all the history between all these characters is simply astonishing. The emotional range you go through while reading it is almost tiring, but you just can't stop reading!!! The characters you may have hated for years are suddenly your favorites. And it all makes sense. Stygian is right up there with Acheron and Styxx. I cried. I found myself really angry. I laughed and at the end, even after all these years I can't wait for the next one. Simply amazing.....

The first 3/4's of the story was so amazing. We get to see Urian grow up and get into mischief but at the same time grow up fast and have to take responsibility for his older siblings. Every moment of that first part (until the 2000's) his life is one tragedy after another but at the same time, he has found happiness throughout it all.

There where a couple of things that had me confuzzled and others that annoyed the hell out of me but it wasn't that bad as to take away from my enjoyment. From about the moment where the series timeline starts (somewhere in the year 2000's) you start getting to see situations that happened in previous books. So I'm sorry to say that if you've not read this series I recommend you do. Although many say you just need to read the book previous to this one only I think you will be lost if you don't read at least from Acheron's book on as many of the fights of previous books are glossed over. You have all these people going to fight and then it jumps on to after the fighting has ended.

Now the last 25% of the book was kind of a copy paste of many of the direr situations that Urian participated on with a few sentences added in Urian's POV. Now many people might hate that but I'm always a little bit lost on this books so I was grateful for them.

And lastly, I found the ending cute and anti-climatic. I was hoping for so much more. Now with all this, you're asking yourself "why then did she rated this book 4 stars?" Well, it was more like 3.5 stars and like I mention the first 75% of the book was so good. And although I was a bit disappointed in the book I still loved it and it made me tear up.

I want to read the next one if it's the heroine I'm hoping. If not I'll still read it to see if some of the questions I have get answered.
