The premise of the book was intriguing. Unfortunately for me, it just wasn’t my cup of tea. I just couldn’t connect with Sarah or Nick. Usually when that happens, it’s the writing but I didn’t find the writing that hard to read. Sometimes, it’s because there are too many detailed descriptions that are unnecessary but the words mostly flowed. I would read another book by Rebecca Freeborn to see if it’s just this one book. I would recommend giving this book a try, even though it wasn’t a good fit for me. , |
A good book. It was fun seeing them hopping around Europe and getting to know each other. I loved Nick. |
3.5 stars for this book. If you put aside realistic expectations regarding international travel, the mystery of this story is fabulous. It’s fast paced with lots of action and definitely kept my interest the whole time. For the mystery alone, I recommend this book. However, our heroine, Sarah, is broke and borrows $3k from her mom to go on this work assignment. How she traveled and ate and stayed in hotels and did the things she did for over a week on $3k is pretty darn impressive. My other issue was the romance. Nick was a jerk most of the book and I had a hard time believing the romance. It really took a backseat to the rest of the story and the book may have been better off without it. I despise cheating in a book and this one skirts the line. Nick is best friends with her live-in boyfriend, but he left her and comes back and there’s a lot of back and forth and no true resolution. The ending in that regard lacked a lot for me. Thanks to the publisher via Netgalley for a review copy. |

I enjoyed this book. There were times it seemed to drag, but the excitement keep me going. I love Sarah’s loyalty and sense of adventure. I also love her pick at the end. |
Hot pursuit was a delightful read! I especially liked Sarah’s character. I have yet to read a character similar to hers which I think was what made this such a good read. The story was fresh with originality and I even found myself unable to put it down once I started, |

I really tried to like this book, but I just couldn't get into the characters. The book was slow and boring. |

suspense and drama in this story. Sarah gets a chance to become a real journalist and runs with it. But she got a lot more then she bargained for. This is a cliffhanger |
Cute idea. The "mystery" wasn't very compelling and the romance didn't have enough tension for me. Hated the nickname "Beauty Girl." Somewhat formulaic. Not the worst I've ever read, just not wonderful |

Overall a cute book but it took me a while to get into. The whole mystery was a bit hard to believe as Sarah was not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. Nick was easier to handle and had some witty banter. The romance built up decently but James and Sarah’s wishy-washiness about him was infuriating. |
A novel that’s more mystery than romance, Hot Pursuit follows journalist Sarah and photographer Nick. While some may find the story amusing, other may be frustrated by the lack of chemistry or romance between the leads who seem to bicker more than anything. The suspense/mystery aspect could have been enjoyable but there were too many issues with the heroine who felt and acted younger than her years. She also didn’t make sense as a journalist for multiple reason, making that aspect of the story unbelievable. That being said , the story is good for mindless distraction. There is humor and mystery making the plot somewhat engaging and the writing is well done. |
Cute mystery romance. Sarah Burrows works at a gossip magazine, but she wants to move up and be a journalist. Things couldn’t be worse for her. Her boyfriend left her for no apparent reason, and he left her with a mortgage payment she can’t make. One night she is at the bar drowning her sorrows in booze on her maxed out credit card, and she meets Chris Ford. It is an immediate attraction, but it ends abruptly. The next day she realizes that Chris Ford is a famous lead singer who is on the run for murder. She is tasked to find him and get the story. This could save her job and her house, except she has to travel with an ex one. Isn’t stand who enjoys nothing more than tormenting her. |
I took me a little while to get into this book. But once I did i enjoyed the book quite a bit. It will be interesting to see what Rebecca Freeborn will write next. |

Unfortunately, I struggled with this book. The heroine is unlikable, continually makes bad choices for bad reasons, is a doormat in relationships, and plays the victim. I can suspend disbelief for a good story but there was too much in this story. |
Great book that will keep you guessing all the way through! Rebecca Freeborn takes you on a trip all over Europe and makes you feel you are right there! Hope she writes another book and keeps Sarah's character going. She could be the next Stephanie Plum.. |

Wow, I really am blown away, Hot Pursuit kept me spellbound! It's been awhile since I read a book I could not put down. It has grit, suspense, a little humor and romance, all making for a thoroughly enjoyable read. Five plus star ratIng! Most suspense books give enough away you can figure out who the true bad guy or gal is, but this one kept me guessing right up to almost the very end. And oh my who was Sarah going to end up with, it actually didn't take me long for me to know who I hoped it was. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a suspense romance, it truly is one of the best I have read in a long time. I look forward to more titles by this author. I received a copy from NetGalley for a honest and fair review. |
Utterly boring! I didn't like Sarah, she was too clumsy and always acting stupid. Constantly pining over that jerk James. And then there's Nick who can't seem to say anything nice. It seemed from the premise that Sarah and Chris would have something going. I guess not as I didn't care to finish this book. DNF!! I liked how the blurb sounded which is why I downloaded the book. But I just couldn't finish it. I voluntarily read this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. |
Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. |

Entertaining read. Sarah's life is in limbo. Her personal life has taken a tough blow, and her professional career is not much better. With more than her finances at stake, she wriggles her way into a real journalism gig with no experience and a lot of hope. Her relationship with Nick is rough, and she hates to admit he has more experience and needs him. It was exasperating to see her getting in trouble because she lacked common sense most of the time. I liked her tenacity but hated her continuous lack of self-esteem. She makes poor choices even when she recognizes her errors could kill her and others. The description of the cities was wonderful; they really got me interested in visiting those places. Overall, a good read. |

Okay. First of all, I really liked the premise of this book and the main character Sarah is really great. The author does a good job of making you want to root for her. Sadly, that's the only thing that was good about this. The overall plot of the story was oddly slow, even thought it should've moved faster like an action movie. I also could've cared less whether Sarah ended up with Nick or James. Actually, that's not true; if she HAD ended up back with James, I would've been super pissed. James seems like an idiot. Lastly, the ending was TERRIBLE!! I can't believe that it was so abrupt, and it makes you think that there's going to be a sequel (or something), but there is really no need for one. Just a really mediocre book that ended badly. |
"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review." Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet romantic comedy and the storyline was great! I highly recommend! |
